Ana was a wonderful dive instructor for my friend who was taking the discover scuba. Ana was easy to switch gears when it was just her and I down when my friend did not complete the second dive. Ana is very observant and awesome to notice animals and point them out to me. I will definitely be back to this shop and would highly recommend the whole team. Domingo (el capitan), Ana, and Charles are very accommodating.

This dive was my first time in the water other than walking on the beaches in our ten years visiting the DR in Sousa. There has always been lots to do here. But a visit from Canada got me to be a good host and do an introduction dive for scuba.
Meeting Charles and Ana, you could feel very relaxed that they were professionals and safety was a high priority. The online PADI course covered all the areas of the dive. This was explained it the office before going on the water. Areas like the safety in descending and equalizing pressure in your body. Then how to use all the equipment and communication below in the water.
Charles was close by and wanted us like a hawk. Any and all issues were attended by him.
It was the best time I’ve had and we were secure that assistance was close it needed.
My friend wants to continue with instruction when back in Canada. I look ahead to next year.

We had a great experience. I liked that we did some instruction online before our trip. It gave us extra time in the water compared to another discover scuba experience a few years ago. They are a small local company where they care about your dive. Charles was very patient with my dive buddy and helped him get comfortable in the water. We even got pictures of us in action included in the deal. Now we can show our friends that 2 old guys can sink.

Impressions say a lot!! My partner and I completed the Discover Diving program and I’ll be honest - from greeting to completion this is a top tier outfit. We felt comfortable, cared for and respected for the duration of the outting. The Team at Dive Cabarete is very accommodating, considerate and professional. Their experience shines!! Ana was extremely helpful from the moment I contacted her via email to arrange discover scuba for me and my 2 daughters together, as part of our cruise stop. She was guiding me through the process, accommodated our tight schedule as we had to go back to the cruise port at a certain time. She arranged the entire schedule to fit our need and even arranged (with my request) a taxi for pick up and drop off.
During the Scuba, she and her husband Charlie both were with us the entire time, trained us, guided us and paid special attention to one of my daughters who were not feeling comfortable first time under water.
Both of them together made sure we have a pleasant experience and as a BIG bonus, Charlie took Pics and Videos for us!!!
I would highly recommend Ana and Charlie with Dive Cabarete for all of your water fun activities!

As a Certified Scuba Diver, I wanted to give my wife and two adult children the opportunity to experience scuba diving while we were visiting the Dominican Republic. Dive Cabarete offered the PADI Discover Scuba Diving class and had numerous 5-Star Reviews posted on Trip Advisor.
I sent an inquiry to the dive shop and Charles Hay responded within just a few minutes providing us with all of the information about Discover Scuba and all of the necessary forms we needed to complete. I went ahead and enrolled my wife and two kids in the class and filled out a Certified Diver form that would allow me to tag along for their instructional dive.
On the day of our scheduled dive, we were greeted by the dive shop staff upon arrival and fitted for equipment & wetsuits. Charles went through all of the key dive training with my family on how to inflate/deflate your BCD, clear your dive mask, clear your ears during descent, locate a regulator when removed from your mouth, how to communicate under water etc. The pace of training was not rushed and he answered all questions thoroughly and professionally.
For the dive, Domingo, our boat driver and accomplished diver himself, along with Charles, my family, and myself made a short boat ride out to 2 Rocks which is a relatively shallow dive area in a protected bay. Charles, our Divemaster/Instructor, was very patient and attentive to my family during the dive. He made sure everyone was comfortable and guided us on a fun underwater excursion. Both of my kids are wanting to get their Open Water Certification now.
This shop and all of the staff are a 5-Star operation. You will be very pleased with any dive you arrange through them. And last, but not least, after we departed their shop to return back to our hotel after the dive, my wife discovered she had left her straw hat at the dive shop. After checking her phone after we got back to the hotel, my wife noticed that Brittany (I think that was her name) that worked at the welcome desk had sent her a text that they had her hat. Brittany went above and beyond the call of duty when she brought my wife's hat to our hotel after the shop closed for the day. A Top Notch business for sure.

Mike and Bell who run this place are absolutely amazing. Mike took us out and is a great diver with lots of experience who made us feel very comfortable and safe. Could not ask for a better diving instructor for first timers. We saw lots of coral and fish and after the dive was over we saw a few dolphins. I would highly recommend for anyone curious about scuba.
