Don’t miss this tour!
Amazing experience. Small group and confortable boat. Everything was top notch. Informative and entertaining. We saw whales all over the bay. We went place a some of the other tour boats could not. 1st class organization. Thalia loves her whales. She has been doing this for many years and treats clients with respect. Education and conservation are her goals. Do not miss this tour

Once in a lifetime experience

First of all let me say that I love whales, and I was looking for a small boat excursion with a knowledgeable guide. Our tour met both these wishes. We saw a few whales and were heading back in when we stopped by a boat where a whale was playing with them it was fantastic. The boat left and the beautiful male came to our boat, He stayed with us for 20 to 30 minutes, went all around the boat, poked his head out, sprayed us with 'whale snot', was very curious about us as we were about him. The experience was so amazing, thank you to Vallarta Natours.

Great time whale watching
Our tour was captained by Angel and guided by Thalia. Both were great at locating the whales while maintaining a safe distance (for us and the whales). Thalia expertly shared much information on the humpbacks, including their annual trek to Banderas Bay and the mating rituals between the males & females. We thoroughly enjoyed the smaller group we had (6 guests and 3 staff) on the boat, which allowed plenty of excellent viewing for everyone. Highly recommend. Plan to book early as the smaller group size fills quickly.

Wonderful and exciting

This was an absolutely worthwhile tour! The fact that the boat was a fairly small one (not one of those yacht-sized boats) made for a really exciting and personal experience. The guide was knowledgeable and was able to share a lot of wonderful research-oriented information and watching tips. The group was also small: in addition to our family of 5, there was only one other tourist.

Additionally, with these smaller boats, you're legally able to get a little closer to the whale-spotting areas. Plus we had whales (and dolphins) swimming near the boat multiple times!

Honestly, I was a little nervous about the length of the tour since I had young children (three kids ages 3-7), but they had such a memorable time (my three-year old did take a short nap during the middle of it). Also, the guides packed food and drinks for us, which was a pleasant surprise and such a kind gesture!

Highly recommend!

Excellent tour! Thalia is very knowledgeable & an amazing tour guide. I have visited Puerto Vallarta 7 times & this has been, by far, my favorite excursion

Fantastic experience

One of the best whale-watching tours that I have ever been on. Thalia was an excellent guide to the tour. We saw many whales, listened to their song, and had a lovely morning. Thalia was informative, friendly and very helpful. There were a couple of people who were very sea sick on the tour, but she managed this with a minimum of fuss and without disruption for everyon else.

It's also worth noting that I have restricted mobility due to a disability, and in terms of access this was definietly the best whale watching tour for access that I have ever been on - the boat is easy to access from the dock.

Small group tour, plenty of room on the nicely appointed boat, seat arrangements are rotated so everyone gets a different aspect, the team are very experienced and qualified in marine biology with special knowledge in whales. There are 500 approx whales in Bahía de Banderas at this time, I suspect we saw about 20 of them, possibly more, we also lucky to see a very large group of dolphins - possibly 200 to 300 swimming across the bay, an exhilarating experience. The team also give much consideration to the natural habitat of the whales and dolphins, by travelling much further out into the bay in contrast to the other sightseeing boats who cluster closer within the bay.

A must for lovers of marine life!!!
Talia (biologist) and Angel (captain)led us out into the turbulent waters off Puerto Vallarta - only to be greeted by a backstroking humpback! And then, we cautiously watched a days old baby and it’s momma cruising through the waters(along with a male protector). Talia was very knowledgeable and has a heart for these majestic creatures. I would return to Puerto Vallarta just to take their tour!! You will not be disappointed 🥰

Excellent. excellent, excellent

The boat was perfect - 28 foot single hull with 2x175 Suzuki outboards. Clean, fast, comfortable, with a washroom, handled the swells/waves MUCH better than the inflatable vessels used by other operators (i.e. Vallarta Adventures). and provided shade when folks needed to get out of the sun.

The whales were focused on procreation, so there was no breaching or other dramatic activities but Thalia's knowledge of what was going on within the whale pods we saw was very informed and interesting. She alone is reason enough to book with this company over others.

All in all an excellent experience, bring a shawl or jacket as it can be cool at the start...wear sunscreen as the sun (from above and reflecting off the water) can be merciless.

Total of 8 people on the boat. 3 groups of strangers at the start...we were all chatting like neighbours by the end of the adventure. Highly recommend this company, these operators and the activity as a whole.
