We had a great time swimming with the dolphins! I loved making these memories with my family! We swam with Kathy the dolphin. Her trainer was super nice and sweet. The kids loved snorkeling in the area they have set up. Super safe environment.

All inclusive does not cover the water fee $10. It also did not cover swimming with the dolphins. Swimming with them was an extra 175 a person.

Swimming with the dolphins was so fun. The Sea Lion show was terrific. I expected a bit more to do, but we had a great time. If we didn't swim with the dolphins, it may not have been a place we would have chosen. The staff were very friendly and amazing. Food was plentiful, but buffet quality.

The description is wrong, once you get there they are going to tell you, that you can't use the pools or sit next to them. You can only get two beers and one plate of food. That in my book is not all inclusive. You are better getting off getting the dolphin day pass everything is included an is only 10 dollars more.

I booked this as a shore excursion from Royal Caribbean. It was me, my husband, and our 2 daughters who are 8 and 10. First, we stood around waiting for our entire group to gather together, get a taxi, and have the "rules" explained to us for the first hour of our excursion. Once we got there, we discovered that the park itself is not that attractive. The sea lion show was incredibly underwhelming. I understand that wild animals don't always do what they're supposed to, but it really felt like someone threw this "show" together 15 minutes before it started and just hoped for the best. The benches to watch the show are in the direct sunlight and are HOT. If we hadn't had beach towels with us, we wouldn't have been able to sit at all. There is no beach access like the description promises. You can walk to the public beach (which is a very short walk), but then you have to rent some snorkel gear. I believe it would have been free, but you had to have your Driver's license on you which my husband and I were not aware of. We couldn't rent a life vest, and neither of my kids (nor myself!) could stand up in the water because it was so deep. My oldest daughter and myself are strong swimmers and can tread water well, but my youngest had to be mainly held by my husband because she's not as strong of a swimmer, so my husband didn't get to stick his head under the water and see the beautiful clear water or the vast array of fish that were swimming around us. We headed to the lagoon that was much more enjoyable for swimming/splashing around, but not nearly as clear and lush as what I had seen at the beach entrance. There were people around us trying to sell us their crap every few feet which took away from our enjoyment. I just wanted to enjoy a beautiful beach and snorkeling with my family like the description made it sound like would happen, but did not. We ate at the buffet and it was just "fine." I live in Texas, so I have access to good Mexican food, and the Mexican food that I got in Mexico was not good. We enjoyed the pool that we had access to, and the swim-up bar; HOWEVER, it had very little in the way of non-alcoholic options for my kids to drink. All in all, everything about this excursion was "fine", but very underwhelming, and I would not recommend this nor would I do this again in the future.

I would not go back again. This package was very misleading! It says all inclusive but it was not. Everyone from every which way was trying to sell you something which took away from the relaxation part it was supposed to give and was very awkward. The food we got was literally a few pieces of cheese quesadillas when we were told at the front we had access to the buffet. We also had to pay an extra $10 for mariner tax. I was very disappointed and will not be back. Don't waste your time or money.

Do not buy a package to CHANKANAAB from anywhere but the park itself. We were miss lead on what we were buying. Told we all had drink packages and we didn’t. The place was so crowded we could even find a table to sit down for the basic food they had.

I should have paid more attention to the reviews. Do not book this tour. There was no buffet. They gave us a plate of food but it wasn’t edible. It said it came with soda and beer but it did not. The dive shop took my license and then closed early. We did enjoy the chairs and snorkeling. I barely got someone to get my license back. I would not recommend.

Sea lion show seating is open place, terrible heat, not clean place. There is no beach access, the food is suck , I was so thirsty then I ask a glass to take lemonade, he said go and line. I was the first person still he didn’t give. He was helping the person asking for liquor. The buffet plates are not washed. No food choice please don’t go Chukinab. I bought one coconut $12. Very nasty place they need money they won’t give good service.

My baby will be 8 months old at the time of our visit to chankanaab. Will she be able to enter the park and watch her big brother play with dolphins?

I don't see why not. I didn't do the dolphin experience but there is a pier to watch the people that are doing it from.

I am visiting in January with my 2 year old. The ages for children are 3 to 11. Will she be able to do this excursion and if so does she pay a fee or should I just select the ages 3 to11? I dont want to not have a ticket for her.

Are you coming on a cruise ship? Book through trip advisor and then take the taxi which is there once you disembark and get out to the street. Allow $15 each way. There will be a taxi at the park waiting to take you back.You will both sign up for the all inclusive and you will pay extra for the manatee experience. I think you can do it in advance on trip advisor or directly at the park.

Yes. Don't book excursion through Carnival though. Do it through this. Walk out of the main port to where the Taxis are. You can catch a ride to Chakanaab for like $6 or $7. Spend as much time as you like in the park. And catch a taxi back to the port or wherever. Its pretty cheap. We did this last time. And the park is really cool, worth it.

We are looking forward to visiting your I February. We have chosen to 11 am when booking, however not sure what this time means?
On our tickets, its says "Departure Details DEPARTURE TIME 11:00 AM"
It seems a bit confusing!

If you booked through your cruise then you will be meeting outside, right at the port (you will be getting info the day prior in your room). If you booked this separately, then you can take a taxi. I went two weeks ago and it was $6 per person one way. It’s not far at all, probably 8-10 minutes drive.

The excursion we took went directly from the port to the park. We snorkeled in the park. There were a lot of interesting fish to see. Our guide Diego would point out the fish and chat with us about what we were viewing. There was not an additional stop for us.
