Manta Dives 25 November 2023
I've been diving in the Cabo San Lucas area for many years, and dive companies come and go. For many years, I dove with Amigos del Mar since it was close to my resort and they were safe divers. Since their closure, I've used several others and have found what I think is a good company with safe dive leaders. They're convenient for my resort and have a nice facility. The gear isn't new but is in good shape. I've very tall so I never have a perfect wet suit, but it wasn't bad and it was in excellent shape. Fins were modern and the BC, regulator, and tank all in very good shape. Kudos for maintenance.
The office staff is quite small but extremely efficient. Take your dive credentials to make a reservation since you can complete it on-site. They photograph your credentials and you complete a form on a tablet: quite up to date. My spouse and I saw divers congregate in front of the shop so I looked in. The shop was very clean and ordered, not like a hurricane had just swept through. Orderliness is important when dealing with a potentially hazardous activity. I always dive with Enhanced Air (Nitrox), and the tanks both measured 31% oxygen, as they should have. I appreciate someone's taking the time to do it correctly.
Upstairs in the shop is a small dive tank for learning, I suppose. Again, I'd cream my head on the low ceiling, but it's usable. The upstairs restrooms, women's and men's, are very clean and everything worked. I've seen that not to be the case often enough. There's a small dressing room for disrobing and getting into a suit.
The dive boat was new and very well appointed. There was bottled water and snacks always available. The forward compartment was lockable and had a working head! Again, not always the situation.
Caesar was my dive leader. He's a low-key guy, great English, and a conscientious dive leader. On our second dive, there was a lot of wave action so he simply changed our dive to get us out of it: he wasn't stuck on doing that one location regardless of his clients' best interests.
When you dive during a vacation that's not a specific dive vacation, you get the conditions as they are. Our dive was like that: not the gentlest sea conditions or visibility, but well within usefulness. Caesar knows the area and worked to get us a good dive on both of the dives. He carefully watched us and noted when any of us was dealing with buoyancy or air issues. He's a good dive leader.

I did a 2 tank dive, and a night dive with Manta Diving. The staff from check in, dive masters, and boat captain were all very courteous, friendly, and professional. Being a more mature diver I required some assistance with the gear, and getting off and on the boat. The dive masters were very understanding, and helpful, which made for a fantastic dive experience. I would highly recommend Manta Scuba if you ever have a chance to dive in Cabo San Lucas. I would definitely use them again if I return.

We did a two tank dive at Cabo Marine Park in July. The shop is super close to the dive site making the boat ride short and sweet. We saw some really cool wildlife and enjoyed the experience thoroughly. We highly recommend.

Solo visit from Carnival cruise ship. Divemaster was Brandon and captain was Jonathon. We were there right after the hurricane came through but visibility was still very good and the local wreck at Lands End had been greatly revealed by the shifting of the sands. Very fun dive, great rental gear and boat too.
If you do this from a cruise ship, you will probably need to catch the first tender. The tender dock is a 5-minute walk to Manta's shop and the dive boat is very close as well. We were done around 11AM so no problem with the ship departure time. Note that I booked this dive directly with Manta rather than through Carnival.

It has been a pleasant surprise that after the storm, the currents have revealed again the pieces of the sunken ship in the Marine Park, every day the sea gives us incredible moments and different stories to tell after each dive.
Thank you for your recommendations for people who come on a cruise ship like you, they are very useful.

I was a female solo diver with 2 years experience but over 50 dives. I was nervous to be diving for the first time without friends or family. Manta guides were very helpful. Group of 2 plus guide. Other groups on our boat were similarly small. Storm earlier in week so visibility was not great but still made for a pleasant dive. They handle all the gear to and from the boat and even rinsed my personal gear when we got back. Thanks for a fun experience!

Manta was such a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. My 17 year old son wanted to dive while we stopped in Cabo on a cruise ship. They made the entire process easy and they did everything they said they would. Our guide, Baptist, was amazing. I stayed on the boat with Capt Flash. Flash did a great job of keeping the divers safe while they were under. Next we will be going to Cabo for a week so he can get many dives in with Manta

I agree with the above answer. You disembark right near the Manta shop...maybe a five minute walk at most. They are a great company. I'd let them know you're coming from the ship.

Personally I would recommend a 5mm full wetsuit and a hood. I get cold quickly and stayed warm with that combo.

We are strong swimmers and have snorkel ed dozens of times, can we take this course without diving experience?
For the 1:00, 2-tank dive tour, what time do you return? We will be on a cruise and the boat arrives at 10:00am and leaves at 7:00pm.
