Our tour started out a little late due to the fact that a couple of nice ladies were sold the wrong tour and needed help getting back to their hotel. Mario called for an Uber, paid for it with his own account and we waited for the Uber to arrive to be sure these two nice ladies were safe. Next we picked up another couple and headed into San Jose. Our first stop was at a jewelry store where we were educated on the history of the local pearls. We played a lottery game to see who would get to open one of their oysters to receive the pearl. The nicest, older lady with us won and received a HUGE champagne colored pearl!! Wow! I did buy a ring and a couple of pendants. Next we went to the Tequila Tasting. This was also educational and we tasted a wide variety of tequila and were introduced to Mezcal. We all had a good time and came away with our favorites. The only downside to this tour was the restaurant we went to for dinner. A bit run down and their food was okay. We could either have a margarita, beer OR water. Knowing the water situation in the area, I was only slightly put out. I could have ordered water, and paid for it out of pocket.
Mario was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company.
Management should look into partnering with a different restaurant that is a bit more like a 3 or 4 star place rather then a weak 2.

Tour guide was ok. I guess there is just not much to see in San Jose del Cabo. Biggest complaints are that we didn't get everything the package said we would; no tequila tasting, we did do a drive by of the Mission, but no tour.
We wasted 30 minutes at a jewelery store where we got a short demo of cultured pearls and then came the hard sell to buy something.
The restaurant was mediocre and at end of meal the hostess told us that dessert and gratuities were not included (how could we leave a tip if we had no idea what the cost was; the dinner was "included" in the package. And by the way first drink was free but second one you had to pay for, even if it was WATER).
Was not worth the money!

The guide, Juan, I believe, didn't take us to many of the advertised places, such as the mission church and the tequila tasting. Instead, we spent about 3/4 hour at a jewelry shop where the owners pushed sales. Also, the restaurant that was included on the tour was second-rate, with small and watered-down drinks, no dessert, high prices, and the tour guide urging us to leave tips.
We complained to our concierge about that trip, and the tour service was extremely kind about giving us another tour, free, of Cabo San Lucas. Here, the guide, Miguel, was superb. He was knowledgeable, expert in history, articulate, and helpful. He also took us to a very fine tequila company, Los Tres Tonos, where we learned about tequila making and had samples. No tipping allowed. This was one of the best tours we had.
We complained to our concierge about that trip, and the tour service was extremely kind about giving us another tour, free, of Cabo San Lucas. Here, the guide, Miguel, was superb.
