With our, Hmong origin, driver Tsung we had 3 wonderfull days in an astonishing Ha Giang loop tour. 3d, 2n ( enough, needs no more..) with a very convenied car we saw all the beautiness of this 'must seen' part of Vietnam. Close to china, much local culture, incredible views, good talks and information from Tsung, good lunch&dinner stops, good accomodation for the nights. Every thing was good and very much worth the money! Highly recommendated

If you don't have a motorcycle license don't plan on a trip here on your own motorbike or scooter. The police won't allow a basic drivers license. If you have a motorcycle license go to AAA and get an international drivers permit. That is recognized I check with the local Ha Giang police senior officer (whever 2 stars represents). I saw many tourists get their bikes impounded and huge headaches.
If you don't have a motorcycle license just hire a guide they are low in cost and know the roads. They do go fast so hang on to your helmet.
Oh and a note on safety, my Hanoi friend spun out in a corner, and we had to clean some wounds. These roads are dangerous stay in lower gears and take your time. Get some motorcycle gloves for sure. Oh and it can get cold and wet.
It is a big investment of time to drive 7 hours by bus to be diappointed in now driving by yourself so plan accordingly.

Reliable travel company. We booked a 3-day trip with them along places on the Hi Giang route, led by a driver and a guide. That guide was a success. Speaks very good English, cares about his customers and puts himself in the shoes of his customers. The guide is called Thin Nguyen, ThinThin. The owner of the travel agency is called Opi, also a very pleasant and reliable guy. You can make your online booking here with confidence for that three-day trip, highly recommended, especially by the guide!

I did the car tour with 2 friends and we all had the best time. Our tour guide was called Tony and our driver was called Sam, they were both lovely! We saw so many breathtaking views and throughly enjoyed exploring the mountains and villages. We stayed at a hotel and a homestay with a Táy family. The family were very hospitable and friendly. We did karaoke and drank lots of happy water. Would 100% recommend this tour! For those unsure/uncomfortable doing the motorbike tour, we do not feel like we missed out at all as we visited all of the same places and had the comfort of a warm car & music!

WE LOVED IT! Our guide TinTin and our driver, Hiệp were fantastic. They were prompt, friendly and a wealth of information about the area. Even though a motorbike would be much more fun, it was nice to ride in a car with aircon! The hotels and homestays were also nice. If you are short on time and not comfortable on a motorbike, this is definitely the way to go. Thanks again for such a wonderful tour.

Awesome trip with our guide Tu and driver Hien, can only recommend. Communication and booking was also very smooth.
We decided to pay a slightly higher price which granted us nice accommodations, huge family meals and a comfy car.

We initially planned a trekking tour in Hoang Su Phi in October 2019. When my friends suggested that we extend the trip with a road tour of Ha Giang Loop, I contacted a few tour operators listed on TripAdvisor. Opi impressed me the most with his responsive communication on whatsapp/email and his willingness to accommodate numerous changes to our travel plans. He customized the itinerary to a 4D3N Road Trip based on our preferences and arranged for our bus transfer back to Hanoi.
I’m pleased that we selected Opi as our guide for the tour of Ha Giang Loop by Car. Everything went off without a hitch! The experienced driver skillfully navigated the narrow and winding roads(littered with potholes) so we were in safe hands throughout the journey. Opi and the driver, with their pleasant personalities are awesome travel companions. They introduced us to a variety of local food of unique flavours and tastes and we toasted with corn wine :)
We were blessed with fine weather during the tour and the views of the landscape and the mountain ranges along the loop were magnificent. There were frequent stops along the way for photo-taking(Opi knows the good locations). I enjoyed the 1.5 hour trek on the Sky pass which offered stunning views of Ma Pi Leng pass. Opi also made the visit to Hmong Palace an interesting experience with his earnest explanation of the history of the structure and the culture of the ethnic community.
Another highlight was a visit to the local market where we saw different ethnic minorities in their colourful costumes and the fresh produce and livestock sold at the market stalls. It was a good insight into the way of life of the ethnic groups.
The Ha Giang Loop Road Trip is my most scenic tour of Vietnam to-date(having visited other places in Vietnam in the past). The landscape in Ha Giang is truly beautiful with the undulating peaks, valleys and rice padi fields. I hope more people will visit this scenic province of Vietnam in the future. I definitely recommend Opi & his team as the Guide for the Car tour of Ha Giang Loop .

I am a solo traveler arriving in Ha Giang Friday, December 6, 2019 in the afternoon/evening from Sapa.
