Jake was great in every way very informative and knowledgeable. We had a lot of rain and low clouds but the guide/ driver made things work for us.

I took the Grizzly bear tour with Discover Banff and it was wonderful. The tour guide Eli was very helpful, energetic and friendly. He made the trip even more memorable by clicking some amazing photos. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Banff.

Fantastic itinerary. The Grizzly Reserve was fantastic, in part because we got to see Boo up close for over an hour.
Guide had a great personality, but was newer to the job. Not an issue at the Reserve as the naturalists there were excellent.
We would have loved a cooler of water on the bus, but not a big deal.

A great day but be prepared for a long day of.driving. Takkakaw Falls are worth it. Emerald Lake is SO emerald. Boo the grizzly bear was well visible and Keepers” really knowledgeable. The gondola and chairlifts gave great views over Colombia Valley although the sunny weather helped that a lot. I felt we had seen some spots off the usual Banff tours track and was glad I went.

Had a fantastic tour with Andrew going around Yoho national park and seeing Boo the bear.
Andrew was a great tour leader, friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fantastic at keeping the tour on track 👌🏻
Loved hearing about the bears of Banff and learning the difference between black and grizzly.
The only thing I didn’t realise was quite how much of the day was taken up by driving (just about half), as I couldn’t see this mentioned in the description of the tour. However, Andrew provided great narration to pass by the time and there were stops along the way at various land marks where you could take photos and have a comfort break.
It was incredible seeing Boo the grizzly bear and learning about all the conservation. Really good experience.

We did this tour with Liam who was great and really friendly!It was a long day but really worthwhile, Takakkaw Falls was beautiful. Lunch and the visit to see Boo at Kicking Horse Resort was fabulous, the visit to Emerald Falls was brief but lovely

We had the best time traveling to Kicking Horse Mountain with Roz, our guide for the day. She was so knowledgeable, fun, and very passionate about the area and Boo, the grizzly! We spotted Boo playing and splashing around in his pond he dug himself! The gondola was down during our scheduled lunch time, but we were able to ride it up later, and still had a lovely lunch in a restaurant below. The views were spectacular and Roz made it so much more enjoyable! Thanks so much!!!

We had a wonderful day on this tour. Our guide, Kelsea, as others have said, was excellent, informative and friendly. All the locations were impressive but the highlights were enjoying the Takakkaw falls in the fresh morning air and sunshine, and seeing Boo the grizzly up close. Best tour of our 3 weeks in Canada.

We saw a lot of beautiful scenery and the driver/guide was very pleasant. The only bear we saw was Boo in the refuge, which was a little disappointing. We spent the vast majority of the time on the bus, a lot longer than I thought we would.

Great overall experience-saw lots of things that weren’t on our radar at all. Fifteen minutes isn’t that much time to see a site and visit restroom-might want to rethink timing of events. Didn’t see hardly any other wildlife from the van but lots of time spent at KH Resort- planning my return adventure there instead of Banff.

Your tour looks amazing, we are visiting Banff from UK in july 2021 but I'm a bit hesitant as my husband does not have a great head for heights . Do you think the chair lift and gondola would be too much for him ? I'm really praying it wouldn't as I've set my heart on seeing a grizzly Bear. 🤞🤞🤞🤞😊

Hi there, thank you for your question. The gondola is fully enclosed, and typically is okay for someone that is scared of heights in previous experience. The chairlift is an open-air chairlift where you would sit next to each other with a safety bar to pull down, This is a much briefer ride, but could be of concern to someone that is scared of heights. Unfortunately there is no other way to reach the refuge (or return after the tour) but hopefully the photos here give you and your husband a good idea of whether he would feel comfortable.

Thank you for your question. When the access road to Takakkaw Falls is closed, the alternative stops are usually the Spiral Tunnels and the Natural Bridge.

Hi, I am disabled with mobility issues in that I cannot walk far and have to use a wheelchair. How accessible is this trip, please? How much walking is involved? Thank you. Best wishes, Dave

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your question and apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately this tour could do not done in a wheelchair as all guests need to take a chairlift up to the grizzly bear refuge and there is no other way to get up there. We can usually accommodate small, collapsible wheelchairs or walking aids with notice on many of our other sightseeing tours.

Hello, thank you for your question. The main destination, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, is about a 2 hour drive from Banff so travel time sill account for around 4 hours but is very scenic! There will be a stop on the way there to Takakkaw Falls for about 30 minutes (or otherwise to the Spiral Tunnels and the Natural Bridge when the access road to the falls is closed), and a stop on the way back to Emerald Lake (usually around 20 minutes depending on the time available). You will be at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort including the grizzly bear refuge, gondola ride and lunch at Eagle's Eye Restaurant for several hours.
