The perfect adventure in an outstanding tour. It was a fantastic experience, I recommend this tour with a good and professional guide. I'll repeat this with the busy bus on another trip.

Today was the day I was waiting for many years to come. I had been trying to find out the way to visit North Wales without a car for a long time and then stumbled upon a full day tour to North Wales from Chester. The tours run mostly from Liverpool but I didn’t want to stay there.
I booked my tour with BusyBus way ahead of time and the day has finally come. There were 12 adults on our tour (kids are not allowed) and the ride was in the comfortable Mercedes minibus (air conditioned). The name of the tour is “Sightseeing Day Tour to North Wales from Chester”.
We were very lucky with our tour guide, Frank. He is not only a great storyteller, but also a superb driver. It is hard to believe how masterfully he was managing all the hairpin curves on the most narrow road imaginable. Talking about a virtuoso driver…
The bus came from Liverpool, so Frank did a short drive through Chester Center to show his passengers how beautiful historic Chester is.
We crossed the Welsh Border. That was very obvious because the road signs were in two languages: English and Welsh.
Our guide offered the black sheep game to us, which I decided not to participate in because I was busy spotting castles along the road. There are 600 castles in Wales!
After an hour, we arrived in Llandudno, popular Victorian sea resort. I can’t say that I was very impressed. Victorian houses in pastel colors were very pretty, but I don’t like resorts in general… that’s why I wasn’t overjoyed. The good thing was that I got a much needed cup of espresso at the small cafe. Note that toilets are for customers only everywhere in Llandudno.
The real fun has begun after we left Llandudno: we were on the curvy narrow road leading to Great Orme. I honestly don’t know how drivers negotiate those hairpin turns dangerously coming close to the cliffs, but Frank has done it was such ease!
We safely reached Great Orme, looked at the tramway on top of the mountain, passed by atmospheric St.Tudno Church and its cemetery, and continued our ride in the clouds. The weather somewhat improved, the rain stopped, and we were able to see Snowdonia National Park as well as Puffin Island and Anglesey Island at the distance.
Below the scary road you can take a look at the clustered gorgeous houses called Millionaire’s Row.
The best thing was that the weather has drastically improved: no rain and glimpses of sunshine by the time we arrived to Conwy. The descent was less dramatic, where we were allowed enough time for Conwy Castle, the Suspension Bridge, and sweeping views of the sea. The charge to enter the Castle is £12 and it’s so worth the price: Conwy Castle is one of the most magnificent fortresses in Europe, which still towers over the town of Conwy after 700 years. It was built by Edward I and served as a mighty fortress, which had Royal Apartments as well. Highly recommend to dive into the history of the old days and take an exciting walk within the walls of Conwy Castle.
I still had some time left, so I went to the nearby café and had a scone with jam and clotted cream with tea. Delicious!
Off we go listening to the National Anthem of Wales. Passed by the Dragon’s Nest (didn’t see the dragon), then Village of Bethesda with the longest zip line in the world and a row of abandoned miners’ cottages.
And finally we arrived to Snowdonia National Park in glorious sunshine. Frank generously gave us an hour, so I did two little hikes admiring heavenly green mountains, dramatic rocks, lovely purple flowers… I knew that Snowdonia is a marvel, but I didn’t expect to see such overwhelming grandeur. Definitely one of the most spectacular places I have ever been to. No wonder Snowdonia is the place where Game of Thrones, Season 2, was filmed…
Mount Snowdon was visible too and very brave mountaineers attempt to climb. The Everest climbers are getting their vigorous training in Snowdonia. However, there are easier trails to get to the summit and there is a train too.
Our next stop was at Betws-y-coed, the unofficial capital of North Wales. It is a tourist trap with abundance of tacky shops, cafes and ice cream parlors.
Finally we passed through Llangollen and arrived to the site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built in 1795 and surrounding canals. This eleven miles long complex is the World Heritage Site and is a true engineering marvel. The walk along the canal flowing along the bridge was quite scary because the pass is narrow, very close to the water, and people were walking from both directions.
After this amazing adventure our tour was over and we were on your way back to Chester and Liverpool listening to the Beatles biggest hits.. I arrived to Chester safely and that was the end of this most enjoyable day.
Frank, you made my day! Thank you!

We booked our North Wales trip for August 2nd, but had to change the day to August 3rd due to other plans. Seeing as that was an option on Tripadvisor we did that. On August 3rd busy bus never show up. We tried to contact Busy Bus but there was no answer. We then called Tripadvisor and they were able to reach out to busy bus to get our money back right away. We were still trying to reach out to busy bus to see why they hadn't picked us up.
After many calls, facebook messages and finally getting a hold of busy bus we were told that they were too busy dealing with other customers to talk to us. The next day Busy Bus ended up emailing us and told us it was the 3rd party Viator's fault (Turns out there was a glitch in the system between Busy Bus and Viator) and Busy Bus was not informed about the change of date. This was the only day we could of went to North Wales so it's pretty upsetting.
I want to make sure if you book this trip and are changing your date make sure all party's are aware, so you don't have to be disappointed as we are. Thank you

We are sorry you were let down by Trip Advisor and Viator (who you booked with) and are flabbergasted that you decided to hold BusyBus responsible in giving a 1* Review.
We are a small family business that have been penalised a global giant Trip Advisor who walk away free of any responsibility.
Argh well.

Went on the North wales tour with Busybus and it was absolutely stunning and fun! 🤩 The guide keeps you engaged all the time with relevant facts and history. The tour is well organized and let you experience all the best places in North wales. The guide also points out nice spots to see or eat. We had the best fish and chips in Conwy. 🍟😋 We highly recommend a day with Busybus ⛰️🏞

Nice variety of stops with time to explore and discover hidden gems like an ancient stone circle. Our guide was very good too.

My partner and I had an excellent day in the company of Frank our driver, tour guide, entertainment officer and all round good guy. This was a very well organised day giving a varied and very interesting 'taster' of what North Wales has to offer.
Throughout the day and despite some iffy weather spirits were kept high by all the historical, cultural and local knowledge passed on by Frank.
A great day that will live long in the memory.

I did a Northern Wales tour today. Gerry was our guide and I hope BB appreciates him! Yes, Wales is pretty, but Gerry made the day. He is intelligent, knowledgeable, engaging, flexible, open to (and encouraging of) questions. He was respectful and thoughtful the whole (long) day. He really is a type of person you’d keep as a pal.
One person on our tour expressed interest in buying some Welsh whiskey to bring home. Gerry told him where to get it during our lunch stop. Upon return to the bus after lunch, Gerry had bought a bottle of the whiskey for the person just in case he hadn’t been able to find it at the recommended shop during our free time. I mean, he was so thoughtful. I really appreciate this type of attention to other people.
Thank Gerry! I wish you a great summer!

A minibus tour to North Wales from Chester - booked November ‘23 for tour in early June ‘24.
Very excited ! Had done an 11 day and another one day minibus tour with other companies already on this trip.
Why book a minibus tour? Because that was exactly what WE wanted!
We were shocked and upset when a huge coach turned up late at Chester station - almost completely full ( and to make it worse, with about 20 teenage school students!!)
THIS was not what we had booked and paid for and looked forward to.
We were very annoyed that NOBODY from the company had bothered to contact us to advise of this big change.
What did we do ? We contacted the company by email immediately asking why we had not been informed and explaining our extreme disappointment that we were on this huge coach.
The tour destinations were of course beautiful, the tour guide excellent and sympathetic, no complaints about that, except that of course we couldn’t enjoy the advertised ‘off the beaten track’ experience only possible in a minibus!
The responses in emails from the company got worse and worse. We were shocked to be treated so dismissively and with such disrespect and dishonesty.
They simply justified themselves saying a large coach was ‘an upgrade’ and made statements that claimed ‘off the beaten track ‘ meant places other tours don’t take you, ( which is contrary to their advertised information).
No matter how we explained the very different and , to us, far more enjoyable experience you have on a minibus in comparison to a huge coach, they insinuated we were making a fuss about nothing.
All we wanted was an apology and for them to admit that we should have been informed of the change from what we had booked, giving us the option to cancel. That would have been satisfactory.
I’m sure if we had been given the vehicle we booked for our tour We would have had nothing to complain about, but others who also book minibus tours will fully understand why we are so upset with the company for just ignoring our order and then being so dishonest and dismissive when we made a complaint.
All I can say is BusyBus is a very rude, dishonest, unprofessional company who need to wake up to the fact that customers actually know what they want and book what they want.
I hope they learn from this so nobody else is as disappointed as we are.
I have no doubt that they will respond justifying themselves, but I am a genuinely disappointed customer, who has been completely honest about our experience.

There are no words!
We did everything we could to passify this client with her "complaint" that was clearly contrived to extract a refund from us.
Not supplying her with a specific vehicle, in a specific colour, with a defined seating configuration is a remarkable, and unique "complaint".
She even threatened a "poor review" unless we refunded her.
Here's the poor review!

Very disappointing to go on a large coach when the Full day/150 mile sightseeing Day Tour to North Wales from Chester was chosen due to the statement on their website ..... 'also use our 16 seater luxury minibuses always ensuring everyone has plenty of seat space and a full window view'!
The 7 people waiting at Chester were in shock when they realised we were part of a nearly full approx. 44 seat coach.
All of us had booked this day tour because it was a mini bus tour. The itinerary and commentary were wonderful with Gerry and driver, no issue there at all. But the large coach did not provide the small group experience that we all value. 'Small' has so many advantages ....one being exactly what they say on the website ...'perfect for exploring areas and routes not accessible to full size coaches'...secondly, easy access to asking the driver questions, much better views from both sides in a mini bus, much shorter queues getting on and off the bus.
Also disappointed with Team Busybus and their return emails when seeking an explanation, as their website advertises a 16 seat mini bus specifically from Chester, the reason we all booked it.
The offer of a partially reduced rate for an additional day tour in compensation, which then changed to a full reduction, was not practical as we were leaving Chester the next day and it is probably my last overseas trip. Very disappointing that this company could not see the false information on their website regarding this tour from Chester. Yes they use large coaches from Liverpool which is what picked us up from Chester, but very sad that they did not follow through with their website promise of a small bus. Probably because there were only 7 at Chester. But no communication was made prior to our trip to say that a large coach was now being used.
We really value the 'Small group' experience. Highly recommend you check before booking with Busybus from Chester, that you are going to receive what is advertised on their website.

Hi ! I'm interested in the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, do you actually go along the top in a canal boat or do you see it from a distance? Thanks Carol.
Skrevet 6. oktober 2022
Hi, the tour guide lets everyone off, you walk along the towpath alongside the canal and get back on the tour bus on the other end

Is there a chance I could jump aboard at Llandudno Pier, do the tour, and end in Chester?

If entrance to the Conwy Castle is by timed ticket admission, how do I know what time the bus will get there so I can buy my admission ticket in advance?
Skrevet 24. august 2021
You just pray you are lucky and they allow you to get in without booking. When we went it was closed for lunch therefore didn't get in. Its not possible to time your visit to the castle.

Hi me and my wife are very interested in your day trip, I have a couple of questions, on your north wales tour there are 8 stops. At these stops are the travellers allowed to leave the van to have a wander around or take some photos of the scenery ect or is it a full nine hours spent sat in the bus/van?
Any help with this enquiry would be much appreciated
Regards
Anthony
