The guide was great, explaining things beforehand and very friendly!!
It was amazing experience with the great sight at the cliffs!!
The trip to Canterbury could be more interesting by giving us a tour of the city, by the riverside or more of the native city instead of just spending the time at the high street.

really enjoyed this tour! the guide was very knowledgeable and cliffs of dover were beautiful. would recommend checking if the lighthouse is open before going as we walked all the way there only for it to be closed and then ran out of time to go down the stairs as well. personally would have loved more time at cliffs of dover rather than canterbury and response time to messages was a bit slow (took a few days to get a reply) but overall a great and affordable tour - a highlight of my time in london!

This was a wonderful trip full of many opportunities. Our guide, Matt, was absolutely fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and careful for our safety. The White Cliffs of Dover and the WWII Air Museum were great! The only disappointment was in the city of Canterbury. It was very touristy. The main thing we wanted to see was the Cathedral and it was under construction-could not even see the outside of it as the scaffolding covered everything! We would have paid too much to go inside to see construction-not worth it! Otherwise, I highly recommend this great sight-seeing trip.

Talvez o ponto mais alto de minha viagem a Londres seja este passeio em Dover, é inexplicavelmente lindo, ar puro e uma vista sem igual que até então só tinha visto em fotos, há uma boa area para uma livre caminhada pelo desfiladeiro e uma curiosa visão do porto de Dover, inclusive deu para ver a França no dia do passeio, Canterbury já é uma cidade com cara de ponto turÃstico de fato com muitas lojas e restaurantes, a catedral estava em reforma observando por fora, não cheguei a entrar porque gastei muito tempo nas dezenas de lojas pela cidade, nosso guia foi ótimo também ele demonstrou conhecer muito bem as regiões de Dover, Canterbury além Londres.

Nice little tour from London. Lucy was our guide - she had some interesting information but would have liked a little more talking from her. The info she did give seemed a bit disjointed. She was a lovely host though and had lots of great local knowledge. The walking tour through Canterbury was also very nice.
We had enough time at the cliffs to walk out to a viewing area which had quite a nice view.
Would have loved more time in Canterbury as there was only time to do the cathedral or explore the town (but not both).
Quite a nice tour overall and would recommend it to everyone.

We hiked the length of the cliffs, and enjoyed stunning views. There are a few spots where you can split up from your traveling partner, and get a photo from across the great divide between cliffs. Canterbury is beautiful, with many shops and pubs.

Both of the optional tours: Dover Castle and Canterbury Cathedral Tour were pay on same day entrance fee. For exact fee amount it would be best to contact the tour agency as they may have a discount tour rate available to offer.

Do you actually get a good view of the White Cliffs on this tour, if you choose to stay and explore (instead of going to Dover Castle)? Or are you just on the cliffs and not able to see them as the photos indicate?

Yes, you get a great view of the cliffs. I was very happy we stayed at the cliffs and didn't go to Dover Castle. There is a light house you can walk to at the cliffs if a person choses to.

Hi. If we take this tour and elect to tour the castle and tunnels would we be able to stay behind on our own to explore the cliffs of Dover and take a train back? Is there a convenient train nearby for this? I love the information and ease of access a tour provides and would be happy to find my own way back.but would

The answer is yes and no, this tour goes to the Dover Cliffs and castle first, so if you wanted to stay behind at that point, you would miss the Canterbury part of the tour. You do have almost 2 full hours at the cliffs and you can opt to use some of that time to tour the castle as an add on, but like I said, Canterbury comes after and was a very charming place to walk around and have lunch, lots of shops and restaurants, very charming small village feel.

If we elect to do the castle, how much time will we have at the cliffs? Also, what part of the cliffs does the tour stop at? Is it close to a beach access point, so we can enjoy views from atop the cliff as well as from the beach?

The tour takes everyone to both locations for a photo op, so you will see both no matter which you choose to do. There is about one and half hours of time to explore. So, if you choose to do the castle, you wont have time at the cliffs. If you choose to do the cliffs, you wont have time at the castle.
The cliffs visit lets you out by the main parking and visitor station which leads to the paths along the top of the cliffs. There may be some paths that lead to beach access, but I do not know for sure. Most paths are on the top (it's not really a beach place, as the beach is made up mostly of rocks.) There are several paths, so you can choose many different ways to go.
