Perfekt!
En magisk tur med mange flotte opplevelser! Dette er andre gangen vi benytter oss av Timberbush, og vi er for andre gang meget fornøyde. Guiden var utrolig hjelpsom og tilgjengelig. Det var guidens første tur med gjester, men vi var på tross av dette veldig fornøyde med turen. Savnet litt informasjon og generell lokalkunnskap på ruten, men det kommer sikkert på plass til neste turen.

Ness Retreat apartment was perfect in every way - spotlessly clean, extremely well located, very comfortable, and well equipped.
On top of that, I received a warm welcome from Alison, who was really helpful.
I loved Inverness and it made a great base for excursions to Loch Ness and Skye.
I highly recommend Ness Retreat!

Our tour guide/driver was Chris Allan. He was incredibly knowledgeable of all the areas we visited. His sense of humor and outgoing attitude made this tour a memorable experience. He answered everyone's questions.
I felt we spent adequate time at all the attractions along this tour. I was able to take photos and videos of all the sites. Thanks to Chris for taking some of the photos.
The tour shuttle has large windows providing an excellent view of the land and Loch Ness.

Such an enjoyable trip, which included Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness cruise, waterfalls and Dores beach. It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip from start to finish. The scenery was breathtaking and the trip delivered all it promised it would. Liall was an excellent driver and guide giving in depth information about aspects of the tour and probably went beyond the call of duty answering questions from most of Scottish history! He was very engaging and personable engaging brilliantly with everyone on the trip. Cannot recommend it highly enough! Thank you Liall and Timberbush!

Alex was our driver/guide, and provided all involved with a great day. He has a wonderful and patient personality that made the busy day seem light and unhurried.
It almost goes without saying that the sights are amazing...iconic Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness, a nice boat ride on the loch, you name it...it was classic highlands, and not to be missed.
We had such a good day, and would not hesitate to use Timberbush Tours again.

Nice daytrip from Inverness around Loch Ness. We first drove to see some highland cows at a farm near Inverness, afterwards we went to Urquhart castle where we stayed one and a half hours. The castle is quite worth the visit. It costs extra, and I'd recommend pre-booking it, since it's quicker to get in and a bit cheaper than buying on site. Onwards to the south, got to walk a bit around the mouth of river Moriston and see some nice falls. At the southernmost end of Loch Ness, Fort Augustus, we stayed 2 and a half hours, 50 minutes of this was the cruise on the Loch. It was enough time to get a quick lunch of steak pie, do the cruise and do some shopping afterwards. The cruise was ok, not spectacular, we didn't get to see Nessie. You could walk a bit around Fort Augustus if you skip the lunch or the cruise.
After that we went back north on the other side of the Loch. We stopped close to the top of a mountain, had some great picture opportunities since the weather was nice. We drove back down to Foyers, and most walked to see the Falls. That's 500 meters far and about 60 meters down, quite steep, but it had stairs and rails so most of the group was able to do the walk. The last stop was at the beach in Dores.
We enjoyed all stops, the van was comfortable, the guide Liall told us quite a bit of trivia during the drive. He drove safely, was funny and informative.
After that we went back north on the other side of the Loch. We stopped close to the top of a mountain, had some great picture opportunities since the weather was nice. We drove back down to Foyers, and most walked to see the Falls. That's 500 meters far and about 60 meters down, quite steep, but it had stairs and rails so most of the group was able to do the walk. Helt optimal utfärd med väl avvägda stopp på intressanta och natursköna platser. Såg inte Nessie den här gången men guiden Andy körde säkert och var mycket kunnig och dessutom sanslöst underhållande.

It was amazing - the nature, the stories, the weather was perfect. I really do recommend this trip to everyone who does want to see the beauty of the nature around the Loch Ness.

Nous avons participé au Tour avec Lial. Il fut un excellent guide et nous a fourni plein d'information et de contexte concernant le Loch Ness et ses environs. Le timing était parfait concernant le temps laissé pour manger ainsi que la suite des visites. Très beaux paysages, je recommande, et merci à Lial !

This was such a fabulous and informative tour. Alex was the most helpful guide I have ever met and made the day so enjoyable. Every stop was fantastic and the tour was a brilliant way to explore Loch Ness and the Highlands. The group was small and the bus was spotless clean and comfortable. This is a must do tour if you are visiting Inverness.

How long is the Jacobite cruise?

From "Loch Ness by Jacobite", West of Inverness, up to Urquhart Castle is about an hour on the boat that we had (Catamaran) — we only made this one-way cruise. As far as I know, the boats continue on to Fort Augustus, then return. The boat schedule should give you more detail.

All tours we made ended between 5 pm and 6 pm, which should be OK to catch the flight. If you are arriving around 5 pm, you should have no problem making it to the airport by public transport (bus); it the return time is close to 6 pm only, you may want to take a taxi to the airport.

We are arriving on a cruise ship at 7am on Sept 6 and leaving at 6pm. Is this tour a possibility?

I don't think that's a good plan. The bus driver expects passengers to be at the central bus station 15 minutes prior to departure — and you would need to get to the bus station from the cruise ship first. And the return time may also vary by +/- 15 minutes, so you would be tempting your luck also in trying to return to the cruise ship.

Sightseeing (in this case Urquhart Castle and the Jacobite Cruise) are extras—the driver will typically collect the fees for such extras during the tour and purchase tickets for the group. You can of course also skip selected attractions and just have a picnic outside or visit a restaurant. In the case of the boat trip, though, the driver returned from the boat station to Inverness and only met the group a couple of hours later, in the parking lot of Urquhart castle. So, you don't need to organize / purchase anything extra for the tour ahead of time.
