Whilst very beautiful, I did sense that the staff in the main areas, especially the castle were considerably more interested in ensuring “the rules” were OBEYED at all costs. It felt like, you cannot do this or that, because it broke rules that seemed a little OTT, for example, you must carry your bag at the front of you just in case it gets in the way. In the way of what !!!
This seemed to be far more important than saying, “good morning or welcome” additionally, despite only a handful of people at the castle, you were TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS to enter the castle and not the other way. In fact one couple were shouted at. (I heard your member of staff actually say “ that’s my sergeant major voice” oh gosh, how ridiculous, in a counter clockwise direction. In all honesty it felt rather petty, if I may say. The catering facilities were, style wise, very much, fast food at high prices, a la Costa coffee. The place generally felt, money, money, money, sad from such a gracious place
All in all, we felt that our membership renewal, due 8th September won’t be happening because most things seemed to be centred around Leeds Castle as an organisation as opposed to us, as paying guests

Myself and my husband who is disabled have been coming here every few weeks for the last 3 years and absolutely love it. The cost of a ticket which you can you use as many time as you like for a year is amazing. We have found all of the staff very friendly and helpful.
The grounds are absolutely fantastic and we love seeing the changes with the seasons. We just have a stroll round with a coffee or ice cream depending on the weather.
The castle itself is beautiful unfortunately there is no wheelchair access to upstairs but this has been the same whichever castle we visit because of the age of the buildings, however we make the most of our visits including the jousting, artisan fair, motors by the mote and the sculpture trail all of which are included in the price of your yearly ticket. The castle at Christmas is stunning with beautiful Christmas trees in each room. We’ve also been to the Christmas lights both years which are an additional cost.
We’ve also brought our granddaughter here a few times who is 8 and she loves it, so much for her to see and do the maze, sand pit, crazy golf, obstacle course, the fort and birds of prey, we also brought her to the Halloween event where she dressed up met characters and solved the puzzle.
Also for the first time we are booking for the fireworks so fingers crossed they are as good as everyone says.

Well worth the visit for a fun family day out. Plenty to do for everyone. Much more than just a castle! My family had a fab time.

The family ticket price is outrageous at over £100 for a family of four, and we arrived at 1 pm. It closes at 5. We had our heart set on going, as it looked like a great way to spend an afternoon, but for the price for a one-off, it wasn’t worth it.
The stroppy lady greeting people at the entrance seemed fed up of telling people the ticket lasts a year, which was useless for us, as we live too far away to return. There should be a single day ticket option.
The falconry show was a redeeming factor. The staff were knowledgable and the four birds on display were fascinating to watch.
The adventure playground was enjoyed by our children.
As castles go, it was average. I’ve been to far better National Trust properties with an annual family membership that doesn’t cost much more, with stunning places to visit across the country.

Thank you for the review. We would recommend arriving at 10am to enjoy a full day of all our attractions. We also partner with a number of organisations to offer discounted tickets.

I was unsure about visiting this rebuilt Castle, as some early 19th century reconstructions, are not sympathetically done! However Leeds Castle has been beautifully and sympathetically reconstructed! I found it a delight to visit, and being comparatively modern, the oak curved staircase, was suitable for modern feet! Loved touches , like carving on exposed oak beams, and soon forgot that I was in a nineteenth century building! Modern touches, like my lady's 1930 marble en suite bathroom did not jar the ambiance, and was delightful to see! Outside was also sympathetically constructed, and it was good to see that some of the Medieval original outer buildings had been preserved. The distance from the car park is very long, but you can pay to travel in the cute Road train, or ask for the free mobility minibus, which can be summoned for you by any staff carrying a walkie talkie! However you do initially have to walk to the official entrance, they do not go to the car park! The river views from the terrace outside the ma8n house are spectacular!

We stayed in the most amazing room - clean tidy and luxurious bathroom was large and well stocked with great shower gel and bath creams the grounds are the best we’ve ever been to especially if you love history the food in the restaurant was superb the staff couldn’t do enough for you cheerful and only happy to help - I happily recommend this place for a great stay - a very happy anniversary was had

• the different gardens are beautiful
• the location of the castle on its two islands is exceptional
• the castle itself is splendid and its furnishings entirely in the style of the 1930s gives a lot of charm
• the Thursday park for children is very large and varied... and for adults the maze is not to be missed
• tip: booking in advance on the internet gives a small discount on a high ticket Award

Beautifully maintained. Perfect signage. Lovely, helpful volunteers. A bit frustrated that there was a huge school group in front of us until one of the kids played the piano so beautifully in the castle:) Will definitely go back!

Very well maintained castle on generous, great grounds. Many Lovingly decorated rooms with German audio guide. The audio guide starts automatically in the corresponding rooms. this is very convenient.

I got to say the grounds and castle are amazing. Nicely kept and very large, about 2.5 km walk around.
Very expensive ticket prices, then you also need to pay for additional bits inside the site, ie boat and train, these should be included in a £35 per person ticket.
food and gifts are also very expensive.
The only plus point in regards to the tickets is that you can go as many times as you wish within the year. Each ticket is solely for that person as a picture is taken of your face.

Thank you for the review. We offer an ultimate explorer ticket which does include journeys on the landtrain, black swan ferry boat and a game of adventure golf. We do offer online discount on our tickets which makes it cheaper if you book ahead.

The price you pay to visit Leeds castle and the park allows you to visit them as many times as you want for a whole year.
