This was such a fun experience in Paris! First - We were in Paris for a week and all of Luiz's tours were full, and he made room for us, which was beyond awesome! Second - he is extremely friendly, beyond knowledgeable and made the tasting experience so much fun. We walked around the oldest parts of Paris, stopped in a wine shop, cheese shop and picked up fresh bread. We then went to a small restaurant where he conducted an awesome little tasting with 4 different wines and 5 cheese. Overall was one of the most fun parts of our trip. We can't wait to get back to France to do one of his full day tours! Thanks Luiz!!

Tenho estudado muito futuro do trabalho. Uma das conclusões é que uma das profissões do futuro é o Compositor de Experiências.
Achamos o Luis aqui pelo TripAdvisor e foi uma das melhores experiências que tivemos.
Nos encontramos onde Paris fui fundada, ele deu um pouco do histórico, e saímos caminhando para comprar vinho, queijos e pão. Inclusive nos ajudou a comprar os vinhos pra trazer pro Brasil e nos ensinou a comprar queijos e os diferentes tipos.
Fomos a um restaurante que estava fechado, abrimos tudo e harmonizamos.
Ele é brasileiro e também fala bem ingles e frances.
Queremos voltar com amigos pra ir para as outras regiões e aprender com ele!!

For the first 15 minutes of the tour we wondered if we had joined the wrong group as we listened to a talk on the non-culinary-related history of the area. Fine. But not what we were expecting. Once we got going, we slowly visited a number of shops, all of them very good. (Bakery, wine shop, cheese shop). But I didn’t feel the information imparted by our guide was particularly new or interesting. As a sommelier, He did come into his own once we arrived at the bistro for the cheese and wine pairing tasting. This was the best part, and the pairings were interesting and enjoyable, but marred by a slow start where we were all waiting for ages for the food and wine to appear - our guide having disappeared into the kitchen for such a long time I thought about just doing a runner. The bistro was very hot and dark & he didn’t seem to know where the light switches were, and a local resident complained Through the window that we weren’t allowed to have the bistro windows open. It just wasn’t the smoothest run experience I’ve ever had.

Thank you for your feedback. This is my first bad review for this experience for which I will reach soon 200 5***** reviews on Airbnb. So I assumed it is normal, that you cannot please to everybody and I will accept it, but first let me answer you:
What is really strange is that I cannot identify you as there is no picture, no name and especially you only made 1 review on Tripadvisor, which is a bad review, that was addressed to me, so again this is really strange…
About your critics:
As you read in the description of the experience, the first part of the wine and cheese experience is a walk in the latin district to know better a small non touristic part of Paris and shop for wine & cheese. There is also a part of History as I am an History Lover and also as we are in an historic district of Paris: How can you be just 50 meters away from the Pantheon, one of the major Monument of France and no mentioning it? How can you speak about wine and cheese and not be interested in History? If the information provided were not enough relevant to you why you did not ask about more? I would have loved to talk with you. After is too late. Inside the Bistro: you would have noticed it is an historic building made of wood as is the district and it is a chance we can do the wine and cheese pairing in this place from the 18th century, totally privatised for us. It is true that it was an heat episode in all Europe in the middle of the summer and I did not switch the light on as it was during the day and that the a local resident told us she wanted to work on a free day as we were very quiet…. Those things happen but cannot defined 100% of the wine and cheese experience you had. When I am leaving you to prepare the wine, cheese and bread we just bought altogether, generally it takes 10 minutes maximum and this is the moment all the group starts to speak altogether, know each other and have all fun together.
About what you liked:
I am really happy that you enjoyed the wine shop, the bakery, the cheese shop and all the wine and cheese pairings we had that day and which the experience is about and the essential part of it. I am also sure that you had that day more than 3 wines and cheeses and that it lasted more than 1 hour so more that you paid for, isn’t it? But you are not mentioning it…
I think that a more classic wine and cheese tasting would have been more suitable for you but this is not what you booked for. Wine is much more than drinking it, Wine is about Culture, History, Gastronomy, meeting People…. this is what I am trying to pass to my Guest with that experience.

I can't think of a more pleasant way to spend a Paris afternoon that Luiz's Pick a Bottle for Tonight wine and cheese pairing tour through the Latin Quarter. We visited a fromagerie, wine ship and boulangerie. Then we settled in at a wine bar, which was closed at the time, for a private tasting. We sampled three wines and three cheeses. Luis is fun and knowledgeable. He makes French wine accessible to even the novice wine enthusiast.

Pick a bottle for tonight (wine & cheese tasting) was the perfect experience for my wife and I while visiting Paris. Luiz’s 2-hour relaxed and intimate agenda takes you though a typical Parisian early afternoon of wandering the streets of the 5th district to purchase cheese, wine, and bread from local vendors. While visiting these shops he explains in detail the different options and styles of the goods available to purchase and how to make the right choice for your own pallet when you return to visit on your own. Following your walk he invites you to a private restaurant to taste a small specialized selection of wine, cheese, and bread. Luiz’s experience as a sommelier shows as he explains how to pair the cheese with the wines and how to experience all the flavors the wine and cheeses have to offer.
In all, I recommend experiencing an early afternoon with Luiz for yourself. I do not think you will be disappointed.

We had a friend highly recommend Luiz and his company based on previous visits they made. They could not have been more right.
We did a very casual tour of the latin quarter district of Paris with some highlights of local sites. Stopped at the wine shop and had a great explanation of the various wine regions of France. It was Sunday so the cheese shops were closing but Luiz had thought of that in advance and already secured the cheese that morning. We did stop outside and he described the cheese offerings that were many. Had the bistro to ourselves as were the only three that day. Luiz explained some secrets about french regional viticulture and gastronomy during a 3 wine and 3 cheese tasting/pairing.
Such a fantastic experience.
Just the right amount of information to make it interesting but not overwhelming.
Can't wait to come back and do one of the larger tours outside of Paris.
