Not so much of a guided tour as a minibus ride (8 people of various nationalities) to several locations where you’re left to look around on your own. Suited us, but quite expensive at €133 each. Visit to a Chateauneuf du Pape winery for tasting was a disappointment, and not a great advert for one of the world’s best wine regions.

We can understand that your expectations are different from the proposed tour however everything is a question of subjectivity, our tours are varied and offer guided parts as well as free time. we have not had any feedback of this kind from the other passengers who were with you. the same with regard to the vineyard that you visited. In improving customer service, we pass on the remark.

Jen was a spectacular guide with knowledge of every where we stopped as well as the journey to get there. We could have spent more time in both Les Baux and Avignon but we got a taste of both places and will be back. The wine tasting ending our day in Provence was awesome. We highly recommend this tour!

Morgane was a great tour guide. We saw plenty on this trip with my main focus being the Pont Du Gard. Morgane went on with the history of the areas and answered questions about the what we were seeing or doing. We had plenty of free time in Avignon to explore also.

Our guide Jehann was amazing! With stops at ancient city Les Baux (so fun to meander up and down the winding stone roads and peek inside all the shops and galleries), the ancient Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, lunch in Avignon, and a Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine tasting . . . It was a full day of Provence. We learned so much and saw the beautiful highlights. Perfect day trip for our family of 4 (teens 19 and 16 even enjoyed the wine tasting).
PS - Jehann’s driving skills were incredible - there were many times when we encountered huge tour buses and she navigated us around with ease. So glad to have had a driver instead of trying to do this ourselves haha!

You can know more about the terroir with the wine-tasting and the stops in the small villages. There are wonderful places to see in order to enjoy the provencal atmosphere.

We had the best day it was full of new experiences. I booked this tour because l wanted to go to Pont du Gard but it was so much more. We started by visiting Les Baux de Provence which was magical then we went to Pont du Gard which was beautiful then Pope’s Palace in Avignon. The remains of a castle then wine tasting. Our tour guide& driver was Laurent and he was amazing, nothing was a problem, very professional and kind.

Pelayo was a great tour guide and was very informed and able to answer all of our questions! He made our tour a very pleasant experience and we loved being able to be with the group but then also have our time to separate and explore on our own. Would highly recommend using A La Francais and thanks to Pelayo for making our experience so awesome!

I've not done a private tour in Europe before, but have done several big coach tours in Spain, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Did a couple in the Far East. I was not sure what to expect, especially how long the day was.
We departed from Marseille, our driver/guide, Sebastien picked us up promptly and drove us to Aix to pick up a few more companions. He drove brilliantly and was full of passion and humour, even at 7.30pm.
Our tour was full. The Mercedes minibus was nice, and could sit 8 passengers. Unfortunately, one of the spaces (next to the driver) had no legroom. They should really have been given some compensation for this, we drove around 200 miles!!!
The tour was everything I hoped for, and a little bit more. I prefer to see more, rather than stay in the same place for a long time.
Les Baux - we were driven first to the most wonderful viewpoint, then we had just over an hour in Les Baux, it was nice there.
Avignon - we parked at the coach park and walked to the main square and had around 1.5 hours of free time. I went out and crossed the river to get a photo from the other side, this didn't leave me much time to spare!
Pont du Gard - this was my primary reason for taking the tour. I couldn't find an alternative tour from Marseille/Aix and public transport seemed sketchy. It was amazing, we had almost an hour free time there and I managed to see what I wanted to in that time. I would have loved to do more, but I was satisfied.
Chateauneuf du Pape - the wine tasting I wasn't sure about when I saw the itinerary, I've never been to a vineyard before, so thought "might as well". I'd say it was the least interesting part of the tour, we walked around the vineyard and had the varieties of grapes and the soil explained (pretty pointless for me) but the view of Mont Ventoux from there was excellent! Then we tasted some of the wines from the estate. After this, we went to the ruins of the Pope's new castle - it was a brief stop, but probably not necessary - could have just shown us a photo.
I thought it was money well spent. Sebastien and the lovely travel companions really made this a special day!

Adrien our driver/guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history, geography and culture of the region. His pleasant demeanour and sense of humour added to the enjoyment of an amazing tour. Thank you Adrien. Avignon and Les Baux de Provence were historically interesting and very beautiful.

Les Baux-de-Provence was a very interesting medieval village and the historic Roman Aqueduct was well worth seeing. Next stop was Avignon where there was an abundance of things to do and see in the time available.
However, I could have done without the last stop at the winery. The three tastings offered were of younger wines that were not appealing. This stop made the day exceptionally long resulting in the return to Aix, and for those from Marseille, very late.
