The tour was fantastic, Alun has a real passion for his historical knowledge on not only Dachau, but Germany war history. He was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the day and all the information Alun had to share.
Would happily recommend him to anybody looking to book any of his tours around munich and Dachau

Alun was fantastic. He purchased train/bus tickets prior to the tour so time was maximized at the memorial site. He also navigated the trains/busses in a way that beat the crowds. Upon arriving at the memorial site he provides an exceptional chat on the history of the camp and the rise of the Nazi party. His method for going around the camp kept us away from the big crowds and allowed us the most time possible to see the various buildings. He then provided an hour for us to explore the museum on our own after giving his recommendations on what to see inside.
Upon arriving back in Munich at Marienplatz he provided lunch suggestions for an hour break prior to the walking tour around the city. After meeting back up, he led us around the city to the significant historical sites in the rise of the Nazi Party while providing a very detailed background on each of them. Alun was wonderful in terms of answering questions and making small talk along the way as well. My wife and I cannot recommend his tour enough. Hope to do his resistance tour whenever we come to Munich next!

We loved this tour and Alun was very knowledgeable. The trains were cancelled in the morning due to storms Alun went above and beyond to make sure we still got our tour.
The trip itself was great and was so good to be guided round the famous sites with so much detail about each stop.
Didn't have to worry about travelling or getting to the camp Alun sorted everything. This trip is definitely a must for anyone interested in WW2 and wanting to go to Dachau as a tour.

Great trip if you want a great overview of the third reich. We did this on full first day in Munich and it gave us a good overview of the city and how to get around also which was really helpful for the rest of our stay. Guide was friendly and informative and answered all questions professionally

Alun is truly knowledgeable about Dachau, Munich, and the rise of the Third Reich. If your schedule allows, don't just go to Dachau, but also join the Munich walking tour in the afternoon - it will give you a fuller perspective of that time in history. He cares that his group gets the truth, and he has answers to just about all the questions. This is a very difficult subject matter, but Alun teaches with grace and kindness. I think everyone walked away gaining some deeper insights into humanity. Very highly recommended!

The all day Dachau/3rd Reich combi tour is a lot of history in one day, but an efficient way to get a lot in. Your right, it does mean a lot to me that people get a good understanding of the information and plenty to meditate on after the tour. I wish you well.

Alun was a well organised guide ensuring all the group only had to concentrate on the information shared. The transport was clockwork. The temperature was really warm during our visit and Alun made sure to make the group comfortable and pausing in shade when possible.

Alun is a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the topic and his experience is evident. The logistics of the Dachau tour were well rehearsed. Providing the content on the walking tour of the camp then allowing the group to move through the museum at their own pace is an excellent plan. The Third Reich walking tour was great as well. The visual aids Alun had help in your understanding of the event and places he was describing and showing the group.
I would recommend both the Dachau Camp and the Third Reich walking tour.
My point of view is Dachau is probably good for 13+. Unless you have some very mature children.

Meeting at the Marienplatz ? As it's such a vast place is it easy to find the guide. We will be getting off the train at the local train station so worried about getting there and not knowing where to go and missing the guide.

We had a small group size overall - about 12 people.
No. The guide respected the privacy of all (including other train passengers) as this tour is a very sensitive topic. All questions were answered during the tour. The guide is very knowledgeable about German history and other specifics regarding Dachau. I would highly recommend this tour and the guide.
