I booked this activity on Apr20 2022 which was planned on Jun06 2022.
I received an automatic notification stating that the activity was confirmed.
On May07 2022 the activity was cancelled without any reason communicated by the host.
I joined myself the host via WhatsApp and was informed that the activity was cancelled due to a personnal reason. The host was really sorry and apologized.
Cancelling an activity for a personnal reason is perfectly understandable but not informing the customer first on the reason is not really professional for me. Too bad as the activity seems great.
When I'm writing this article the date of Jun6 2022 is surprisingly still available for a booking. I'm wondering if the host well manage the booking tools.
To avoid this situation for other potential custromers, I can only advise to directly contact the host to really confirm her availability.

We booked the Olive Oil and Wine Culture tour through Mallorca Eats Local (MEL). Our tour guide (and tour operator) Toni was very friendly and knowledgeable about Mallorca and the wine/olive oil producing regions of the island. He picked us up at our hotel and we were joined by 3 other ex-pat Americans for an enjoyable half-day tasting of olive oil and local wines. We first drove to Soller and entered a 400-year old home were they have been producing olive oil since 1561. We happened to be there when the production was occurring and it was interesting to see how they clean and press the olives to produce the oil. We had a tasting of local foods including fresh squeezed orange juice, olives and of course the Olive oil. Then we went to a local resort area to taste 3 local wines on a beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains. Food was also provided during the wine tasting. It was fun to explore the island and get to try local products. Overall, we would highly recommend MEL and this tour.

As a solo traveler I like to plan at least one wine/food tour when going someplace new. It is always a good way to learn more about a city/country from a local and also meet new people along the way. I did a bit of research into tours available during off season in Mallorca and while MEL's tour didn't have loads of reviews, all of them were incredibly positive so I decided to book and I am glad I did. Tony was great with communication so I knew where and when to meet him. I was with two other couples and we all got along really well. The weather was brilliant which helped, but it still would have been a great day with Tony as the guide. He is from Mallorca and was able to tell us all about the history of the city as well as personal stories about how the city has grown. We first went to a 400+ year old olive oil production site which is based in an old house. Lucky for us they were actually producing the oil that day. We were also provided an amazing lunch with homemade olive oil, orange juice and locally harvested almonds. The house and hospitality were amazing. For our second stop we ventured further down to the Soller port for a wine tasting and some more local snacks. The venue was stunning and the attention to detail to each client was outstanding. Tony was courteous, knowledgeable and considerate. I just with the tour could have lasted a bit longer! He also provided tips and recommendations around Mallorca to eat and drink. Wonderful service from MEL Tours and I would book again with him if I return to Mallorca. Thanks again Tony!

After a shaky start not knowing where to meet from the ship, this turned out to be one of the best tours we have ever done anywhere in the world. Tony, the owner, operator, tour guide, was so knowledgeable and personable. It was a pleasure to spend our morning with him. In a comfortable van, he drove us first to the town of Soller to Can Det, an olive oil producing familybusiness established in 1561. After viewing a short video of the history of their olive oil production, we toured their modest facility. The only changes they have made in the generations of this family operation is to install motor driven press rather than donkey driven. Following our production tour we were invited to sample a small meal of bread, tomatoes, olive oil and meat as well as homemade orange marmalade and fresh squeezed Valencia orange juice from their own oranges. Following this treat we headed into the mountains to Ca N'Ai, a many generations old family owned hotel. In this beautiful setting we tasted three different wines with another snack spread of bread, meat and cheese. Tony is a local and MEL - Mallorca Eats Local - is truly a local experience. I am just sorry we were not in Mallorca long enough to do several more of Tony's tours. I am sure they would be equally as impressive as this one was.

We booked with Mel (Mallorca Eats Local) and this was the best part of our cruise excursions! Antonio picked us up just outside the Port next to the taxis and drove us into the Mtns to visit Can Det 1561. This family’s home is over 400 yrs old and their business is making Olive Oil. He walked us through their home and taught us the process from the olive, pressing, extracting the oil and then sat down for a tasting. This was just amazing!
After our bellies were full of a tasty lunch, Antonio drove us to a 5 star hotel nestled in the Mtns called CaN’ai Hotel, est 1725. We walked the grounds and then sat down in the lovely gardens for a wine tasting. This was truly one of the best experiences of our life!

Aprovechando nuestras vacaciones en Palma de Mallorca, nos animaron a disfrutar del tour del aceite y del vino con MEL. Se trata de una visita guiada y de degustación del aceite y los vinos de Mallorca. La experiencia fue increíble y 100% recomendable. Qué decir de Toni, el guía. Es una persona encantadora y muy profesional, convierte la experiencia en un agradable espectáculo. En todo momento estaba pendiente del grupo, haciendo la visita muy entretenida, entrañable y acogedora.
Tuvimos tiempo para hacer fotos, preguntas, degustaciones, sin prisas ni agobios. Y el entorno en el cual se desarrolló el tour fue inimaginable.
En definitiva, ha sido una experiencia increíble que ha convertido estas vacaciones en algo muy especial.
Cuando vuelva a Mallorca repetiré seguro!
Tuvimos tiempo para hacer fotos, preguntas, degustaciones, sin prisas ni agobios. Y el entorno en el cual se desarrolló el tour fue inimaginable.

We highly recommend booking with Mel! What started off with a difficult situation for the operator with another guest on the tour and handled deftly by Toni, we began our tour of the magnificent old town of Soller. With tremendous hospitality and charm, we visited the 400 year old family olive oil operation of Can Det. The mill and press is operated much as it was in ancient times and the results are outstanding.
Then it was on to the exquisite 5* resort Ca N’Ai. Strolling the impeccable grounds and treated to a lovely cheese and charcuterie board and a tasting of 3 wines of the region. All the while Toni calls on his relationships with the owners and operators of these quality properties for behind the scenes peeks into life in their village. He was charming and open to us the entire trip and we can’t thank him enough for a memorable tour.
Then it was on to the exquisite 5* resort Ca N’Ai. Strolling the impeccable grounds and treated to a lovely cheese and charcuterie board and a tasting of 3 wines of the region. I had a great time with my wife on this tour. This tour was given to us as a wedding present. We did not know what to expect going in but we were blown away when it was all said and done. Tony our tour guy was amazing. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and really made the day special. Driving through the mountains on the way to Soller was breathtaking. The olive oil portion of the tour was fascinating and the family that hosted it was super warm and welcoming. Plus everything they made was delicious. The wine portion of the tour was certainly memorable. The hotel where it took place was incredibly scenic. They provided nice snacks that went well with the wine. We got to try a local white, rose, and red. We enjoyed them all. Over all i would highly recommend this tour. Tony was awesome and i would do any Mel tour that he was hosting.
