We had a great time on our tour with guide Leira. She was so knowledgeable and approachable. She went out of her way to interact with our kids (ages 10 and 13) and keep them engaged in the experience. It was really cool to experience her local contacts. Our family is vegetarian and the tour accommodated our dietary restrictions. We tasted such delicious food. Definitely recommend!

We had an excellent food tour with Simon, highly recommend. It was the perfect way to start our trip to Spain because it gave us a chance to ask questions about a lot of things and understand the food and eating habits/culture. And the good was delicious! It was was in a local neighborhood and its market - we walked around the neighborhood, then tasted things around the market and even picked out some ingredients which Simon gave to a chef the market and he made us a fabulous tapas lunch.

Oliver was an amazing host for our tour. His knowledge and fun spirit made our food tour a wonderful experience. From the different tastings (ham, olives, olive oil, fruit) to the end of tour lunch (lovely fish from the market - chosen in front of us), it was an excellent way to see the city and to enjoy Madrid's wonderful food.

My family of 6 (adults, teens, kids) went on the afternoon De Marcados Tour for families. Our guide Theo was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Spanish food. We did this on our first day in Spain and it worked out great. We learned so much about Spanish food and tried lots of new things. Theo also gave us lots of good tips for the rest of our trip. Even our picky kids all tried one or two new things. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Isa! I highly recommend this tour for friends, families or if you just want to have a fun afternoon exploring Malasana. Starting off, Amy and Magrit were super communicative and answered all of our questions we had before hand. And they were very accommodating of our dietary needs, interests and the fact that we had a 16 month old in a stroller. It was a lovely experience - we learned a lot, tried amazing food and were introduced to great, local spots. It is also very well priced for the amount/quality of food we tried.

One of the highlights of our time in Madrid was the food tour with Margit. She is wonderful as well as knowledgeable and has a great relationship with all the vendors. Not to mention that the food was amazing!

First let me say that even before we went on the Market and Neighborhood tour, Margit and Amy were so helpful with recommendations while we were visiting Madrid. Their suggestions helped us with our itinerary.
The tour itself was fabulous and was one of the highlights of our family trip. Our family loves to learn about food, local specialities, and history. The tour was a perfect way to get out of the touristy areas and learn a little more about the different neighborhoods and local specialities. Olivier, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods and regional cuisine, as well as, the history of the areas and the markets. We enjoyed tasting and learning about local specialities, where they are sourced, how they are made, etc. Our group peppered him with questions and he was more than happy to answer all of them. His passion for sustainable, local foods is evident. He also had a terrific sense of humor! The lunch at the end was delicious and gave us a sample of several regional specialities of the area.

I booked a private tour for 5 people during my work trip. The team was very accommodating when I had to add an additional person in a short time frame (a couple of days, as the places organized for us must be booked in advanced). All the market stalls, tapas places, and the restaurant picked & organized are all amazing and the produces fresh & delicious. All my colleagues are impressed and said the tour was the best thing they did. There're enough food & drink to go around, while still squeezing some historical & interesting tidbits about Madrid/Spain. The guides were incredible, bubbly, and knowledgeable. I will not hesitate to recommend Walk and Eat.

We loved the whole tour, the 2.5 hours flew by. All of the food was delicious! It was so much fun to walk through the markets and neighborhoods, and our guide was so much fun.

We went for this food and drink walking tour following an ace review in the Guardian. It was totally amazing…we visited a wonderfully quirky area of Madrid…Melasana..( well worth a visit!).. our guide Simon was knowledgeable and entertaining. The tapas and wine glorious.. This was probably the highpoint of our trip to Madrid… apologies to all that amazing Art…This is a new company.. new Initiative.. a total gem!

Hi! I would love to book this but as I'm travelling from the US, I have concerns on whether or not my flights will be timely. I am scheduled to arrive at 7:50 am on 10/29. So, I could do it that day or the following day as long as I would be able to catch up with my tour by 7 pm on 10/30. Is this something I could wait to book upon my arrival? Sounds like so much fun! Also, staying at Hotel Rui Plaza Espana. Is it within walking distance of your pickup point or would I need to get taxi/uber? Thanks for your time!

Hi there, I believe you could wait to book as Oct is less busy. The Walk Eat Spain tour also does afternoons. But you could also do the evening the tour it started at 6 p.m. and ended around 9 p.m. Both options give you plenty of time to rejoin your tour. You will not regret this tour, we also stayed on Gran Via at the Iberostar about a 15 minute walk from where you are staying. The tour met at a metro station very easy, not sure if this is where they always meet but would guess it is. You can also email Amy the owner of the company , she is very helpful and will address all your concerns. Last piece of advice, bring an empty suitcase for shoes and purses, the leather is amazing and very inexpensive. Cheers have a wonderful trip
