Our driver, Gilberto, was very informative and friendly. He picked us up at the cruise port and took Bracciano Lake and it was beautiful and peaceful. We felt like we stepped back in time. Later, he drove us to our hotel in Roma. Highly Recommend!

This was a wonderful tour. We started by going to Calcata which turned out to be one of the most interesting and unique places that we have ever visited. Gilberto is one of the very few people that knows about Calcata and we were incredibly fortunate to go there close to Halloween since it is haunted and has witches. Gilberto genuinely wanted us to have the best possible experience and he made this excursion wonderful. Giulia in the office was a pleasure to work with and always answered our questions quickly and with excellent suggestions. This was a very enjoyable and relaxing day for us.

Our trip around Lake Braccianno was perfect. We added the lunch at the local BB which was the best part of the trip. The meal was incredible and the hosts were incredibally friendly and informative.

Marco, the tour guide, did a fantastic job. We were seven people with three seniors. He took great care of us. We even liked that he drove responsibly. He kept the trip very entertaining and took us to a wonderful restaurant. His experience as a tour guide showed through.

This was hard to rate since our lunch at Gilberto’s was one of our nicest travel experiences. He provided so much more info about the area over lunch thanMarco did the whole day. Marco, unfortunately, dropped the ball in many ways.
Even simple things like giving us the chance bottled water were done only upon request and grudgingly.
At each sight, he told us when to return and waved us off with little to no orientation,
We got to the castle before it opened so a tour was not possible.
It was only later that Gilberto told us many interesting facts about it that I wished wehad
known when we were there.
At first we thought Marco was just a driver not a driver/ guide
and checked our confirmation. He was indeed supposed to be a guide. There was no wifi in vehicle as adverised so wecouldn’t research the stops ourselves.

This is my second time writing a review for Gilberto Stanzione and Discovery Tours Limited. I had to write again because it is just as good as ever if not better. As stated in my previous review, we have known Gilberto since 1995 when his tour company first started and have used his services many times over the years and have always been pleased. We have also recommended him to many many friends all of whom have just loved him and their experience with him. Gilberto has such a great sense of humor as well as a wonderful command of the English language combined with a desire to show people as much as he can of his home country. We used him for two days on this trip to see some of the environs of Rome and enjoyed it thoroughly. He makes everything you are seeing such fun as well as being very knowledgeable in the history of the variety of places that he will take you to. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience in either Rome or the Italian countryside, choose Gilberto and Discovery Tours Limited and you won't be sorry. I was a flight attendant for 38 years and while coming into contact with many good people in the tourism industry in Italy, Gilberto stands above them all. Enjoy! Ciao!

I was fortunate enough to happen to find the Day Tour of Lake Bracciano while searching for something to do near Rome that wasn't the normal touristy things to do since we had been to Rome the year before, and had seen all of the "normal" Rome attractions. Gilberto made this day the most special of our whole Mediterranean cruise! Gilberto met us at the Civitavecchia port in a lovely Mercedes 7-person van. We had a day of seeing the three lakeside medieval towns of Bracciano, Trevignano, and Anguillara. They were uncrowded and so picturesque right on Lake Bracciano. Gilberto also was our personal guide through the Orsini-Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano. It was just wonderful! He also took us to the ancient, Etruscan town of Calcata built high up on a cliffside. It was so interesting and unlike anything we've ever seen.
Perhaps the best part of the day though was when Gilberto took us to his very own B&B! This wasn't just a little B&B, but an absolutely gorgeous home where his wife and daughter prepared a feast for us for lunch! Much of the food was directly from their garden, and we had fresh tomatoes, basil, cantaloupe, zucchini, and much more from their garden. Fresh mozzarella, homemade veggie pizza, homemade pasta, local wines, and homemade limoncello. It was absolutely delicious!! They even gave us a little tour of their garden, complete with olive and lemon trees too! We felt like part of the family. I think it was some of the best food we had on our whole Italian vacation! Thank you, Gilberto, for a memorable day we will never forget!

My husband and I were picked up at the port for the best day of our cruise! Gilberto guided us through a perfect Italian day, thru countryside and small towns that tourists would never get to enjoy. It was the perfect balance of tour information with Gilberto and time on our own. We could take as much time as we wanted at each stop, he just waited. He made suggestions but we could have made any request of him. And be sure to add the lunch! Amazing local restaurant, delicious food, great wine, beautiful scenery. We could order what we wanted from menu. Thanks, Pamela, for your help booking! We may go back just to tour with Gilberto again!

We spent a week in Rome and took advantage of several of the tours offered by Discovery Tours. (The reviewing process lets us only select one experience.) It was easy to make all arrangements ahead of time with them and we were guided by their expertise. Our tour guides were so knowledgeable and our drivers were outstanding.
We cannot recommend Gilberto and his company more highly than five stars -- or we would!
