Geweldig mooie en leuke dag. Veel gezien. Varenna was mooier dan St Moritz. Heerlijk geluncht in Tirana. Treinreis is er leuk om te doen. Geweldig leuke gids.

the entire trip was great. It is very pertinent to the size of the booking audience. There were 3 of us that day, and the local guide lady went through thoroughly the local valley resident lifestyle and where we should prepare camera angle during Swiss alps scenery train. I feel much respected throughout the journey and you really get to appreciate the life of north Lombardy valley residents, and the fantastic scenery in Swiss and the fabulous city of St Moritz. This is an unforgettable experience.

First stop at Varenna at lake Como, explore the cute village before the boat arrive for seeing different villages around lake Como. Many tour books said Varenna and Bellagio are the most beautiful but I agree with our tour guide Maria who is a native there; each village has own charm. E.g. Grand hotel Tremezzo (claimed to be â„–1 in Italy) and its village look stunning.
After winding, scary mountain road, passing UNESCO nominated Valtellina region for unique vineyard on the slope and villages on high up the rock mountains, next stop is at Tirano. We were given enough time for a quick lunch but we opted for take away sandwiches and going around the border town where you catch Bernina Express Train (the red train). Bernina Express Train is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (a rare occurrence for a train because of its beautiful scenery and engineering marvel).
Here is my take on Bernina train. Some tour books might tell you to sit on the left side (on the way up north) to better see a certain beautiful spots. But in reality, many places passed by the train rather quickly and if you do not have camera ready, you will easily miss them. If you sit on an aisle seat, it appears to have a disadvantage but you can move around quickly to a different part of the train and snap a shot. Also do not forget, even if you get a window seat, other aggressive tourists can still invade and take photos over you. Those got the window seats are no longer smiling after an hour because windows are down all the time on 2nd class train and heating underneath is quite intense. Outside is 25° F but we did not feel it. Somehow no icy air coming from outside and everybody removed the winter jackets inside the train.
Don’t forget to bring your selfie stick to piss other off by blocking the view on Bernina Express train
Finally we arrived at St. Mortiz. It is not a dead town in winter like some said. A lot of activities at the frozen lake in front of the town including horse races, test driving of cars. You can either walk all the way across the frozen lake or walk by the highway to reach to the Viewpoint platform. Series of escalators from viewpoint lead to the town.
I do not know whether the exact tour also sold via Autostradale.

This was an awesome tour! We went in late November so got to experience snow up in the Alps and St. Moritz. Lake Como and all the stops on the tour were fantastic. Luca was knowledgeable and communicated well. He really cared about making sure the experience was enjoyable and everything we could have expected. The transport from Milan was perfect and we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience! I definitely recommend this tour.

What I loved was that the tour was small group which alowed us more personal attention. Luca and Manuela were terrific guides with lots of interesting information, friendly, and spoke great english.
we were met at Milano Centrale train station by Manuela to start our journey which was great as the station is a bit intimidating. She got us on the correct train and away we went for the first leg of the trip. we then transferred to an extremely spacious and comfortable van. we stopped at a lovely winery for a tour, tasting and nibbles and onto the departure point for the Bernina Express. Great trip through the Alps! Beautiful! the upside to traveling low season is that the 5 of us on the group had the entire car to ourselves so we could move from side to side to take photos through openable windows. we were met at a station by the driver, went into St Moritz for a little walking around and then returned to Milan by regular train.
There was just a little difference in price between this small group, personal tour and the cattle bus (50+ people) tours and the little extra is really worth it. As I wrote previously, Luca and Manuela were great guides, personable and intelligent. you could tell they really love sharing thier knowledge and making this tour relevant to you.

Truly a wonderful experience! Paolo could not have been a more terrific and knowledgeable guide. She went out of her way to make sure we all had a good time. Day was well planned and of course the Bernina train ride was spectacular. We were advised in advance that it would be a long day and required some walking which was helpful. Chose this particular trip because the # of people is limited. Would highly recommend. Thank you Paolo and Luca.

Our day with Luca was wonderful. My friend and i had an amazing time exploring Milan and St Moritz.the train rode OMG!!! So many beautiful lakes in the mountains. Just WOW!!Luca was very friendly, funny, respectful and very thorough with the details of the tour. If i could grade above 5 star i would.
From the meeting point, he was no longer our tour guide,he became our friend.
Amazing time,Delicious food and wine. Great spots for pictures, beautiful waterfall,detailed history of mansions, towns, cathedrals etc…
You cant go wrong with this tour. I will book it again if i am ever in the Milan area in the future with a special request for Luca.

This was my 2nd trips with Luca, he is a very knowledgeable & professional guide with fluent English speaking, fun and a good entertainer. We all are really had lots of laughter from the beginning till end of the tour.

Luca's tour is in my top 3 travel experiences. It was so much fun, Luca made everyone feel comfortable and seen. He knew lovely spots and
the tour is really nicely put together. It was nice
that it wasn't the kind of tour where you just follow
the guide around in a group like in school, you get
to look around on your own a little bit too. Driving
around in the car feels like a roadtrip with friends,

Luca and Giulia were the key to making this an excellent adventure! Luca was so helpful in our planning as we worked through the details of our trip. We were able to join this tour in Varenna with our luggage, and travel with the tour group to St. Moritz. We stayed for two nights on our own, and joined to the tour (different group) at the end of the second day in St. Moritz to travel back to Milan. What a great way to spend some time in St. Moritz without the hassle of traveling on our own. Giulia was a fantastic and friendly guide. She was friendly and informative as a guide, and personally made sure that our transition was smooth. Highly recommend!

My two sons and myself are wanting to do this trip next June.
We will be staying in Varenna so we were hoping the price will be less from Varenna as it looks like we can be picked up in at the Varenna ferry port to begin the tour so we will not need transport to and from Milan?
Also is it possible to get first class tickets with panoramic windows on the Bernina Express with you? If so how much more is this?
Last question - How long time wise exactly is the Bernina express train journey itself from Tirano to ?

Where does the train leave from and at what time? We are taking an overnight sleeper from Paris and don't arrive in Milan till 8:15 am...trying desperately ti find a Bernina to Switzerland the day we arrive and so far all the tours depart at 7 or 8, hoping I can find a place to meet up to just catch the train portion of the tour.
