This was our second trip with Tuscan Escapes in the past week and we enjoyed ourselves immensely on both. For this review, we would like to begin by complimenting our guide, Guglielmo. His passion for the region and knowledge of the many hidden delights in Tuscany meant that we learned and experienced so much. The road trip to Pienza opened up so many beautiful vistas of the Tuscan countryside. Each photograph was better than the next. We never felt rushed and Guglielmo was patient throughout. Our visits to both towns allowed us lots of time to explore these beautiful places. Lunch was most enjoyable at a farm or agriturismo where local produce and wine were featured. As always, the people on the tours add to the experience and we were fortunate to meet interesting travelers along the way. At the end of the day, we returned relaxed and sorry to say goodbye to our new friends. Thank you so much, Guglielmo!

This tour is wonderful. You simply can't ask for a better full day out in the countryside. I book this tour every time I'm in the region (this most recent trip was my fourth time) and it never disappoints! This time I brought along my mom and sister for the day; Georgia was our guide and she was amazing, of course. She was engaging and fun and with an art history degree, very knowledgeable!
I know when I'm booking a Tuscan Escape day tour, I'm in for a real treat. If you're into good company, knowledgeable guides, fantastic food, quaint towns and breathtaking scenery, this tour is for you!

Our Italian guide “William” was excellent. Very knowledgeable, fluent in English though very Italian that he is. Lunch at an organic farm with fabulous view was a highlight for me. There was enough time to visit the towns too. Highly recommend

We learned so much about Tuscan, history and culture, while sampling, its rich landscape, food, and wind. Our guide, William, gave us such an inspiring introduction to the place. He obviously loves so much.

This trip was absolutely divine. My trip to Siena would not have been the same without it. I had never been to Italy before this trip, and I was looking for something structured to do so I could get a more in depth taste of the Tuscan countryside. Our tour guide Guillermo was kind, fun, intelligent, and an all-around great guy. I can't thank him enough for making this experience a unique one. He shared interesting facts and histories about the area, and he was so attentive to what we as a group wanted to do to have a good time. Pienza was stunning to stroll through, and my group elected to do the wine tour in Montepulciano (which I would highly recommend). The views throughout this entire excursion were absolutely breathtaking. Eating at the organic farm remains one of my favorite dining experiences from my entire vacation because of the fresh food and atmosphere. This trip was a great value and made especially wonderful by Guillermo.

Had such a great day with Mattia learning about towns near Siena and the history of wine in the region. He was a wonderful tour guide and knew so much about the region, its history, and its wines. Highly recommend.

This tour was outstanding in every way and William our driver was exceptional. He was professional, informative and funny. He cares deeply about making sure everyone has a wonderful experience and takes care of every detail. We originally wanted the Brunello tour because we wanted to learn more about the wines and do tastings with options to purchase higher end wines. Because that tour was unavailable we chose this one. We had only 4 people on our tour. We were able to see amazing scenery and also accomplish our goal of tasting and purchasing wine because we had an hour to walk around Montelpuciano. There we found Podere Casanova, a local wine shop that offered an awesome flight tasting (which William suggested for us). Stephano created a tasting of 4 different years of Nobile Montelpuciano (very high quality Montulpuciano that is not easily found in the United States) and explained all about the differences and what had happened those years that affected the quality (2016 and 2015 exceptional years). We can’t recommend Stephano enough!!!! He even threw in cheeses to try and offered an additional wine to taste for no extra charge! He arranged to have a case shipped to us in the US. So if you want to combine the best of both (scenery and finer wines) this is a great way to go!!!! I would use Tuscan Escapes again in a heartbeat! Siena is a magical city in every way!!!!

Our guide, Marella, was amazingly knowledgeable, gracious and friendly. Spending a day with her was an absolutely delightful experience. We learned interesting facts about the many small towns and villages around Montepulciano and Pienza, including the geology and flora. The wines we tasted were outstanding and the lunch was amazingly tasty. The only objection was the day seemed short!

This trip met all of our expectations. The country side is breathtaking and we had some opportunities to take photos. There is some free time to explore the two towns and do a bit of shopping and admiring more views. Our guide Guglielmo was excellent. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the area and makes you want to come back another time. The lunch at the farm was excellent as was the setting.

Hi Anita, Thank you for your question, yes if you are interested in wines, there is an optional visit to a beautiful historic wine cellar followed by Nobile wine tasting in the hill town of Montepulciano, just let your guide know you would like to do the tasting, and we will take you there.
