I booked 2 days for photo tours in Terceira with Azores expeditions. The communication with Marissa was a breeze. She was prompt and mentioned that “ Don’t worry, Juca will take care of you”. She was so right. Juca and Marissa are a great team and Juca was super committed and helpful.
We started early each day and continued till evening. Juca was super efficient about changing locations depending on the weather in the island, which tends to be quite unpredictable. We crisscrossed the island to take advantage of the light. Juca knew all the good spots in the island and in between some great restaurants for lunch.
It’s quite obvious that Juca takes his job seriously and with a great deal of passion. He knows all the great spots in the island is is surely the best option if you planning a photo trip in Terceira. I can imagine that he would be great in any of the trips that’s run by Azores Expeditions.
I would highly recommend Juca to anyone visiting Terceira.

This was the second time we have used Juca and Azores Expeditions when visiting Terceira. Last year we went on the archeology tour, this time was the photography tour; and each time was absolutely wonderful!
Juca's knowledge of Terceira is amazing and his obvious love for the island is contagious! We were more than happy to let him run the show and we could not have had more fun! He showed us places we would not have seen otherwise and by the end of the day we felt like we knew Terceira in and out! A day with Juca is a day well spent!
We can't imagine coming back to Terceira and not spending a day with Azores Expeditions! Both Juca and Marisa make the experience well worth it!

Foi um dia a não esquecer sem dúvida, exploramos um pouco o interior e as estremidades da ilha pontos turísticas mas também sítios não tão explorados o Juca é um excelente profíssional da qual eu recomendo com uma visão prespicás para um spot fotografico de alta qualidade, amei a minha tour do nascer ao pôr do dol💛🌞💃.

A part of our Azores cruise was a stop in Terceira. Therefore we searched for a Private Guided Tour and finally found the website of azoresexpeditions.
The contact was quickly made via email and we booked a photo tour.
At the agreed time we were picked up from Juca at the cruise terminal. We became a brief overview of the tours and what to expect. After that we went to really impressive locations.
Juca is a very cool guy with an incredible knowledge of landscape, nature and photography! M
We had a lot of fun together. It was a fantastic day!
Always in a good mood, happy and patient, he explained us a lot about terceira Island and photography.
Finally we were able to take very nice photos of Terceira island and he also took photos of us, so that we have very personal memories of this special day.
We can recommend the tours with Juca to everyone.
He really loves his job and we noticed that all the time!
In addition we were able to take away a lot of knowledge and also lots of tips to improve our practice in photography.

The Photo tour with Juca is one of a kind experience! When booking the tour, even after reading all reviews, my expectations were that we would visit beautiful places and snap a few pictures. BUT I'm looking at all photos taken by Juca at that day and realize that for over 30 years of married life this is a first time when we have such a beautiful, romantic, and full of fun album! Plus spending time with Juca was a treat. This was our 2nd day in his company (the first day was an Archeology tour). His passion for photography and love to the island made our trip truly unforgettable!

Obwohl aufgrund des Wetters kein Sonnen- aufgang und untergang zu sehen war, war diese Tour grossartig. Juca fand wundervolle Plätze zum Fotografieren. Die Wolken und der aufsteigende Nebel, im Wechsel mit klaren Abschnitten, machten die Fotos erst richtig interessant.
Ich habe heute viel gelernt und es entstanden traumhaft schöne Fotos von mir.
Juca ist ein sehr geduldiger Lehrer und humorvoller Begleiter, der die Highlights der Insel zeigte und unterhaltsam viel Wissen vermittelt.
Beim nächsten Terceirabesuch buche ich bestimmt wieder eine Tour.
Ich habe heute viel gelernt und es entstanden traumhaft schöne Fotos von mir.
Juca ist ein sehr geduldiger Lehrer und humorvoller Begleiter, der die Highlights der Insel zeigte und unterhaltsam viel Wissen vermittelt.

Look no further for another way to see the island because this is an experience you won’t want to miss. Juca was very punctual. He picked us up from our accommodations full of energy and excitement. He really does love what he does and you can see it from the amazing photography he captures. He is kind and patient. A true gentlemen with a great sense of humour. He went over and above to make our experience one we will cherish forever. ( even helping to take my shoes off for photos that should be in bare feet) the locations he brought us to were unreal and his eye for photography is something you just don’t see often. He showed us where to stand and how to pose to get just the right shot. We have travelled extensively and have never had a tour and experience quite like this. Juca and his wife were very professional leading up to the booking. They answered all of our questions. Even giving us advice on other things to do. When we saw the photos we couldn’t believe that was us. This tour is truly one of a kind and one we highly recommend. We will be booking back in the future.

Decidimos tener un día de fotos y guía por la isla de Terceira durante nuestra luna de miel, y Azores Expeditions fue la mejor opción. Juca fue excelente en el servicio, trato y simpatía. Tuvimos un día muy bonito y las fotografías que tomamos fueron maravillosas. Un recuerdo inolvidable.
