The food was great and we loved learning so much about the history of Lisbon from our guide Kika. We got to try many spots we wouldn't have discovered on our own.

My wife and I thought this was probably the best tour we’ve ever taken in any country, and we weren’t the only ones in our group who thought that. That is mostly thanks to the outstanding Kika. Her unique approach to explaining the history of Lisbon and integrating it into the tour was just outstanding. Not to mention, she’s just a really great person to spend the day with! Easy-going, knowledgeable, and fun. The foods we sampled were generally tasty and unique, and the portions were ample. There were also some very interesting historical sights weaved into the tour—things you’d likely never see otherwise as a tourist.
NOTE: This is a 5.5-hour tour, a fact that caught several of us off guard. But the time flies!
RECOMMENDATION: Schedule for Tuesday through Saturday if you can, as the fish stands in the market are closed Sunday and Monday. (Even though we went on a Monday, it was still well worth it, so don’t let this stop you from attending if you have no choice.)

Absolutely incredible!! This is our 2nd culinary backstreet tour and will not be our last. If you want to make sure you are getting an authentic experience and not jumbled into a huge group, unrelentingly booked them!

We had an amazing time on our Culinary Backstreets tour! Francisca was an incredible guide, very informative and engaging throughout the day. She was also accommodating, making sure we had coffee or other drinks wherever we went.
This was definitely a food TOUR, not just a collection of great food. You will get to see a lot of cool local spots, learn about the history and culture of Lisbon, intertwined with stops for food. Come hungry and curious!

Was this the best food tour I have ever had? I would have to say yes. Furthermore it ranks as one of the best tours - period: food or non-food tours. Kika Menano used to be a teacher and her skills to educate in a pleasant, interesting, and intelligent manner comes through. I’ve come away not just getting to know Portuguese food but also the culture and history of Portugal. I’m grateful for that. She’s a treasure.

This food tour was more than just food. It was a history of Portugal from colonial times to the modern day taught through the foods of Lisbon. Our guide Kika was fabulous. She was a teacher first, so the way she told the stories was the most illustrative of the subject. The food along the way was delicious and varied. Alternatives for those with allergies were not bland as on some tours. I can easily say that this was the best food tour in Europe that I have been on since starting my travels 20 years ago.

Our food tour was excellent! Our guide, Lara, was so warm and friendly, and knowledgeable. She's passionate about Portuguese food, and the history and preservation of the food and neighborhood cultures. There was lots of time for questions, and exploring. I would definitely do a tour with culinary backstreets in another city!

Our tour was so much more than we had expected. From beginning to end, our guide gave such insight into the history and role that various food items played in the culinary development of Lisbon, and how the history of Lisbon shaped the culinary development as well. It was an education as well as a delightful social experience with our guide and other tour group member. Great way to spend a day while taking in the sights of local Lisbon neighborhoods. Let me not forget that it was a truly delicious way to spend an afternoon! We could not have been more pleased.

Gisela was our tour guide and she completely amazed us! We learned so much! Her knowledge, compassion, curiosity and respect showed in every bit of how she orchestrated the tour. By first setting our minds on the world map, understanding trade and the interconnectedness of history-tradition-people and how the movement of people and their spices influences the culture. Food is the people. Also the revolution in Portugal is omnipresent here, though invisible if you don’t look up. But it is in your mouth if you pay attention. Your body knows these things and damn if I’m not immensely grateful to this beautiful human for helping remind my family and myself that we’re not alone in having our eyes open to humanity, as well.

et nous arrivons à 7h00 et le bateau quitte le port a 16h00

Le point de départ de la visite est à près de 4 km du port de croisière de Lisbonne. Je recommanderais un Tuk Tuk pour un moyen rapide, amusant et relativement peu coûteux de parcourir la distance.

Agree with all the answers above, all restaurants have facilities and there are numerous and frequent stops so there shouldn't be any issues.
