We took this tour with this particular company during our visit to Chania Crete and i have to admit it did not only meet my expectations but it exceeded them! George is a fantastic guide ready to explain everything and take you back when the history started in the ancient times, and very easy going and patient with our group since we were moving slow. Thank you for this tremendous experience and definitely in case we come back, we will book with this company again!!

George, like all our guides do their best to immerse you in the local history, culture and traditions. We talk about many things regarding Greece and Crete, trying to give you the context of our complicated and long history, while walking around the town. I was with my Family and our tour guide Peter took us all over the old town. Showed us the sight seeing! Such amazing places and history, such depth! We would definitely use this company again! :)

Fantastic Tour, Chania Old Town has a Medieval flavor and the architecture and color of the buildings were so amazing! Majestic scenery with the waters being crystal clear inside the Old Harbor were impressive! Our guide was fabulous and took us with all his information back in time!!

Thank you for your kind words. Chania old town is picturesque with the interchange of colours, streets, history and the blue water sea. Its pleasant to stroll the narrow streets that our guides will show the less known but also important sites telling the story of the city. We spent the whole day walking the marvelous Old Town of Chania and its medieval alleys. It was like talking you back to the Medieval Times! Lots of sightseeing, you can still see some parts of the Old Town back from the Minoan Civilization and the first Medieval Walls! Our tour guide Peter made sure to keep us throughout the tour informed and be patient enough when we needed to make stops. If we would go back in the future and visit, we would definetely pick him again!

Chania old town is one of the best preserved in Greece, with civilisation starting at 3000BC. Its the oldest continuously inhabited town in Greece. Walking around the picturesque town is charming and beautiful. Will find Niriis Tours easily with a quick search. Hope to see you again!

Spoilt by over tourism and in particular the cruise ship brigade.
Some pleasant little alleys of the main harbour area.
Driving in Chania not for the faint hearted. Bet this used to be a very lovely place. I know I am a tourist myself but 2 hours in Chania and we couldn't leave quickly enough.

In Chania usually dock 1-2 cruise ships. In other destinations there are more ships docking. Overtourism is a problem and the Greek government will pass new regulations in 2025, especially for Santorini and Mykonos. You cannot drive inside Chania old town, streets are mostly for pedestrians. Guests who stay in the old town, residents and workers coming from other parts of Chania, park outside the old town creating a bit of traffic. It takes 30 minutes to drive from SOuda port to Chania old town and park the car. I mention this in the tours. Your rating is about the experience of traffic and the amount of tourists, not about the tour we gave, so this is a biased review giving wrong impression to those who read it. It is also suspicious because we tour Chania old town for 3 hours and usually longer, we never did a 2-hour tour, or left earlier during a tour. Sadly, I cannot do much about this review which does not reflect reality and our performance.

Food is very important for Greeks! Chania town has good restaurants, but you still have not tried the best in the mountains! Crete is like a small continent when it comes to nature and history. Xenios Dias, translated Welcoming Zeus was born in the Cretan mountains according to Greek mythology, not by chance I guess...

George was amazing. He picked us up from the port on time and was with great communication. Took us to so many places, told us all about the history of the area, pointed out many interesting architectural points (which we definitely would have missed on our own) and accommodated my moms limited mobility. This is a must do tour in Crete. Added plus is he’s a great photographer!

It helps that my hometown and the old port of Chania are picturesque and full of history! I am happy that everything worked out fine, partially driving and stopping to accommodate your mums' needs. The advantage of private tours is that we can be flexible and not rely on other travellers. Photos are important, in this way memories last for ever! Bonus are my 'drone photos'.

This was a cool tour of Chania. The best part was our tour guide, Peter. He is awesome. So nice, knowledgeable, and personally very interesting. We walked around Chania and ended the tour at a locals restaurant that he recommended.

The most important part in a tour is for the travellers to connect with the guide. In this way the tour is more fun and not boring, stating dates and names. Chania old town is very beautiful, so we enhance the experience by talking about history, culture, traditions and anything that might interest you. Greek restaurants are excellent, remember to avoid eating infront of the port. Anything inside the narrow streets is fine!

Wow! What an amazing experience! George, our guide was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and extremely good. We highly recommend him and the Chanda Old Town Private Tour.
This experience was top notch. Worth every penny. His knowledge of the area was vast, with no question he could not answer. He showed us local shops, such as O Armenis and flakatoras pottery workshop, with unique products which meant for better shopping and gifts. Took us to nice cafes to try local treats and other shops with local artists work. We also got to hear local lore and history as conversation just naturally occurred throughout the day.
Our only wish, is to have stayed longer and perhaps stayed at his hotel, Noriis Hotel, to experience more of this beautiful area and his generous hospitality.
