Fabulous way to see Norway with not much time. Easy instructions and everything runs right on time. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this. We had dinner at Zander Hotel in Bergen while waiting for 11pm sleeper train.
Only comment would be on the last train from Voss to Bergen, a lot of people had pre-allocated seats and ours were “ free seating “ which meant we had to keep moving as in someone’s seat. It’s pretty busy so we ended up in the pram area near the doors which wasn’t that comfortable. Would be better to also have had allocated seats for that section (maybe this could be requested).
Lastly good tip would be when get off at Flam, immediately go to the opposite platform and queue up right behind any of the painted carriage numbers on the ground (1-9) as it’s a mad rush to get on and find a seat. Only told to do this prior to boarding which meant everyone pushing to start lines.

Booked our trains several months in advance. Requested business/first class facing forward. They booked our trains and all looked well. Closer to the trip, one part of the rail was cancelled and I didn't understand we were being switched to a bus. I was of the believe we were on the train both legs.
Arrived at the train station in Oslo at 9:45 for a 10 a.m. train. We attempted to board when the conductor told us this was a bus ticket at the bus terminal, which was impossible, now, to make their 10 a.m. departure. Realizing our situation, the conductor told us that this train, too, is going to Goteberg and would arrive for us to make the transfer to the second train on our agenda..
So, we had to pay cash to the conductor and boarded in economy. We felt grateful that this would not ruin our scheduling. The ride was beautiful. However, 60 miles north of Goteberg, we all were told we had to get off the train. Seems a power problem prevented the train to go any farther south. They had to call Goteberg for busses to get us there.
We were able to crowd onto the first bus knowing we only and an hour layover before going on the Stockholm. Everyone was cordial and understanding. Problem for us is that we missed our connector. We had been booked on Vy trains by Ninja Rail which offered no help since we didn't take their bus that we paid for.
When we got to Goteberg, I was able to find an MTRX exonomy that got us to Stockholm in time for a short overnight to make our return home trip.
There are more options than Ninja Rail wants you to know! They don't mention MTRX which was comparable to Vy. Somewhere we were told that if the train was over a half hour late, you would get half your ticket rebated. I don't know where to go for this as our Vy train ended 60 miles short of our destination.
Put our problems aside. the scenery is breathtaking and, still the best way to see that part of Norway.

This is my first visit to Norway. I really wanted to discover remote places in big cities, and in particular the fjords that have been a dream of mine for a long time.
I was not disappointed for a single moment. Having someone take care of all the transport tickets for us as well as the timing allowed me to travel more peacefully, as I am quite stressed, especially during connections.
Traveling aboard the famous Flåm Railway train line was a great discovery, and a pleasure for the eyes to see the valleys, the waterfalls, each one as impressive as the next (despite the rather crowded train, but quickly forgotten by the beauty of the place)
A must do

A relaxing way to see the beautiful sights in a short time. The step by step directions made it very simple to navigate. We only had three days and this was the highlight

I was initially going to opt for a 2.5x in price guided tour but so glad I went with this option
The directions are extremely easy to follow with no experience with any of the Vy train or buses in Norway. I went in September and there were a couple hundred others doing a similar trip, if not also on the same journey, so it’s hard to get lost - you might see the same faces the entire day
If there are any delays, do not worry since transportation is held for all connections! Good if you’re running late, kind of sucks if you’re waiting for a delayed arrival. This also led to the fjord tour being cut short by 30 mins and it became a 1.5 hour tour.
The scenery on the train wasn’t as scenic as expected. There were three 5-10 minute stops to take pictures, but again, delays since passengers took their time getting back on board
I would highly recommend also staying the night in Bergen instead of taking the train back to Oslo; I only had around 1.5 hours (after delayed train arrival) to explore the town and most eatery options closed by 10pm

We loved this self-guided tour. This was really nothing more than having someone else buy you train, bus, and ferry tickets but it was nice to not have to worry about coordinating the timing since there are a lot of transfers. The communication from TripAdvisor was great. They sent instructions ahead of time and contact us before the trip to make sure we have everything we need.
The views from the train and ferry were absolutely amazing. The only reason for the 4 stars is because we did our tour on a Sunday and by the time we got to Bergen, everything was closed. It was still nice to walk around the town but I wish we would’ve gotten a heads up instead of being a little disappointed with the “grand finale”.
We’re also so glad we opted for the sleeper car on the train ride back to Oslo. It was so nice to be able to lay down and sleep after a whole day of traveling.

You get a full day of fiords, that’s for sure. 4 hours train through countryside and into mountains, then short awesome train down mountain by falls, onto 2 hour boat through fiords, then 2 hour bus through fiords, and another train to Bergen. I’d recommend fishme restaurant on warf. 7 hour overnight train gives about 2-3 hours sleep.

I really liked this trip: you see a lot of beautiful mountains while traveling by train, then there is a 2 hours boat tour through the fjord (don't forget to take warm clothes!) and then you can also walk a couple hours in Bergen, which is also a very beautiful town. And then there is a night train to Oslo. This tour is a very convenient option if you want to do a day trip to fjords from Oslo. It's expensive but it's worth it.

This was my first trip to Europe. Did this solo. The 22 hour tour was a great experience! All the passes connections happened as expected. Lots of highlights along the way. Norway is visually delicious!! Natural eye candy. The mountains, waterfalls, small towns, houses with grass on the roofs, beauty and serenity of the fjords. Absolutely the best way to see it all. Because of the time of year, it was dark and Bergen, still enjoyed it all!!

how do we do this trip to bergen without the tour operator?where do we buy separate ticket for the railway and bus?can someone guide please,we r a family of four, taking tour directly will become very expensive.
Skrevet 11. februar 2020
Hi the tour operator provides a detailed written agenda along with the tickets for the trains, boat and bus. It tells you times and what trains to take. Many other travellers are on the same tour making it easier to follow. I believe you could buy tickets on the train separately but I don’t think it would be cheaper. We saved money by traveling back on the night train in a berth, no hotel cost.

Is the trip guided all the way from Oslo, or do you need to find the trains etc by yourself?
Skrevet 11. februar 2019
Podrían explicarme que significa "autoguiado". Hay guía en todo momento o en forma parcial. Gracias por su gentil respuesta, que espero a la brevedad.
