The trip itself was beautiful and well worth it. My only issue was communication with Viator. I asked to confirm the departure time and they did, but it turned out we missed the early train we were booked on. This was my fault as well as I didn’t closely read the printed tickets I had, but everywhere online our voucher said 8am. We ended up getting on the 8am train, which we were very fortunate they let us stay in with no seats, but that train broke down and we missed the cruise portion of the trip. Again, I take responsibility for getting on the wrong train, but after communicating with the local travel company, we were told all other transportation would wait fir us because of the train issue. That was not the case. Luckily we were able to take a bus to the place the cruise would have dropped us off and we made it the rest of the way. Bergen is amazing and I definitely recommend making the trip here!

I read the other reviews - Look, it can be a bit confusing because it is a self-guided tour. We were more than happy to help others who were quite as organized or skilled at travel as we are. The only thing that detracted from this tour was other people, but you can't fault the travel company or the towns for this. Yes, Flam was a port for cruise ships, but if you take time to ingest the beauty you will be much more appreciative. We did this tour over 2 days with one night in Flam and one in Bergen. The Fjord cruise was amazing and we cannot wait to come back and rent a remote house along the path between Flam and Gudvangen.
We did the kayak tour in Flam (we ordered paddleboard so a little disappointed). It was great but the guide should have known that the heavier person goes in the back, so we struggled for the first half until we could switch). Overall a great tour.

Un autotour de Bergen à Oslo d’une durée de 14h ce qui est beaucoup trop long en hiver. La croisière sur le fjord permet d’avoir un bel aperçu d’un fjord mais les couleurs doivent être plus belles en été, la ligne de train entre flam et myrdal n’a aucun intérêt et en suite 5h00 de train pour rejoindre Oslo de nuit, c’est trop long !

This was a great trip but it’s quite long. I had baggage with me as I was traveling to Bergen to stay for a few days. There is a baggage service company you can hire to take your luggage straight to your hotel in Bergen. It’s $30USD and worth every penny. No one else on the trip knew about it. The only reason I knew was because I randomly asked the tour operator via WhatsApp text the night before and luckily the company was able to come and take our luggage from our hotel in Oslo and drop it at the hotel in Bergen. Bring snacks and be prepared for a long but pleasant ride with beautiful scenery.

Great solo trip without a guide with all tickets and timing figured out. Elena was online to clarify details through WhatsApp. It does take some figuring out, but not terribly difficult. Great way to travel to Bergen and see the fjords.

This company canceled our trip late Saturday night while we were still on a cruise. When we disembarked we had booked& paid for the flight to Oslo,hotel in Oslo,flight to return to Oslo after spending night in Bergen and the return flight to Copenhagen. These reservation needed 24 hour notification for cancelation or were non refundable. There was no reason given for the cancellation and they returned their fee but we are still stuck with $695.60 bill for all the other reservations. They made no contact with us since the cancellation. Disappointed we did not get to do this trip and furious for all the hassle and frustration we experienced. TERRIBLE COMPANY. DON’t BOOK WITH THEM!!

1. The tour was declined 2 days before your travel date.
2. You were fully refunded at the moment it was done, and we both received the confirmation of the refund.
Is it possible that you booked the tour through a third party who misled you about the refund and did not notify you in time? Please contact them as it is absolutely impossible for you not to receive a refund from our company or Viator.
We do our best to fulfil all bookings during the high season.

När jag bokade resan trodde jag att man skulle komma tillbaka till Oslo, men när jag insåg att så inte var fallet blev jag tvungen att boka flygbiljetter tillbaka samma kväll då jag inte kunde få tillbaka pengarna vid avbokning. Jag tyckte inte det framgick klart i beskrivningen. Tågresan var tröttsam, men man kunde se Norges vackra landskap. Väl framme i Flåm fick vi vänta en timme på nästa tåg och det fanns absolut ingenting att göra på platsen mer än att vänta. Sedan åkte vi Flåm railway och det var helt okej. Vi stannade vid ett vattenfall, vilket var fascinerande. Sedan åkte vi vidare till Flåm. Där kunde vi bara vara en halvtimme innan vi gick ombord på båten som skulle ta oss till Bergen. Resan tog några timmar.
Sammanfattningsvis en resa som innehöll det vackra landskap som jag var ute efter att se, men jag rekommenderar inte att man gör denna resa på en dag. Det är bättre att kanske flyga till Bergen och ta någon liten tur därifrån i stället och dela upp det hela. Det blev en lång dag med mycket sittande på tåg och båt. Detta är egentligen bara bokning av två tågbiljetter och en båtbiljett. Sedan får du klara dig själv. (Dessutom anser jag att en dagstur är att man åker från ett ställe och kommer tillbaka till samma ställe när dagsturen är slut).

This tour, as you correctly noted, does not include much physical activity, and therefore is suitable for many ages, allowing you to see the beauty of Norway from the windows of trains or from the deck of a ferry. We are very happy that you enjoyed the views, the waterfall and the fjord cruise!
The tour page states that the tour is one way and the ticket to Oslo is not included in the price, and if you realize that you made a mistake just after booking the tour, we are always ready to discuss compensation. We also have another tour that includes a return to Oslo.

By road, by trains and one is in Bergen, a beautiful place. One can have whale, cod or shark to eat. Kiev of Bergen from top of the hill is mesmerizing.

This self guided tour is just that. All the tickets you need to get from Olso to Bergen are bought for you. You are absolutely on your own as they clearly state. So don't expect anyone from the company to be there. If you follow the instructions and give yourself some extra time ( 30 minutes) to find your first train you will be fine. After you board your first train you will likely find others doing the same tour. All of the other connections are easy for that reason and a short walk to get to them. For late July you need to have light clothes, a light jacket and an umbrella. It is a long day of travel to Bergen. In Fram you will have time to walk around and plenty of time to eat at the cafes or the food trucks. On the ferry portion of the trip you will need your jacket and/or a rain coat. We spent most of our time out on the deck as it was a sunny day; however, you will likely spend a portion inside as well. If it rains you will mostly be inside and there are seats by the windows and if you don't get one taking pictures is a bit more difficult.

el trayecto de Oslo a Bergen, me impresionó por su belleza, sabÃa que Noruega es un paÃs con na vegetación muy linda, pero verlo me impresionó, ese camino no podés dejar de conocerlo, la maravillosa vista de los fiordos y el agua con una transparencia me fascinó como el glarciar Perito Moreno en Argentina. Y luego llegar a Bergen me sentà exquisitamente gratificada.

Hi there, I can't seem to find the correct page to ask this question, hope this one will do. Firstly, we are doing Bergen to Oslo. We have 2 days after getting off our cruise ship in Bergen. We have a night booked at Vatnahalsen. The second day is simple, catch the morning train from Myrdal to Oslo, arriving mid afternoon so we can explore the city a bit before flying out next morning. It is the day from Bergen to Myrdal that I would love some opinions on. We are NOT booking through Norway in a Nutshell, the rush in peak tourist time is not our cup of tea. I have 3 options for our day and would love to know what people would think would give us the most scenic and relaxing day. Option 1: Early first bus from Bergen to Flam. Fjord safari RIB boat after lunch. Last Flam train up the mountain to Myrdal, and onto Vatnahalsen. Option 2: Early first train from Bergen to Myrdal, first train down to Flam. Same as option 1 following. Option 3: Early first boat from Bergen to Flam arriving after lunch. Do we need to do a fjord safari boat after this? I doubt it! Plenty of time in Flam, last train up the mountain, same as before. Thanks SO MUCH everyone. We do not want to rush. We will have our large luggage. We know it will be crowded. We just want the best experience for our last 2 days in Norway. Cheers!

Maybe you should use a photo from one of the beautiful places on this tour, instead of one from Sakrisøy in Lofoten. Sakrisøy is also a beautiful place, of course, but not a place you will be visiting on this tour.

We would like to spend one night in Flam and continue on to Bergen the next day. Will my Oslo- Bergen ticket be valid for travel over two days? Or do I have to buy two separate tickets Oslo-Myrdal and then Flam- Bergen for the next day?

Do you have to take the boat portion of the trip? On our way to cruise out of Bergen so will have luggage from Oslo to Bergen. Do you come back to a train station where you could store luggage and just do the Flam train?

At one point, there was a service available [60$, I think] that would transfer your luggage from Oslo to Bergen, but I cannot find it. I wonder if the service was discontinued.

The train portions are all regular trains with luggage storage in compartment and the bus portion has normal luggage storage. The boat portion does not have designated storage. You will need to keep your luggage with you but that should not be a problem.
