Every once in a while you experience a tour that is beyond superlatives. My sister and I had the most amazing guide in Tommy Skjonhaug. We not only experienced the varieties of architecture and astounding views but we’re provided in-depth insights into the daily lives of the citizens of Bergen. Also provided recommendations for restaurants. Kudos, Tommy

Price made us choose this tour, and it was cheap..... So was the whole experience. A guide who obviously have no connection to Bergen, and who more or less culd not answer any questions except the "prescripted" things that she had memorized from Wikipedia or alike.
This was the second tour we took where we disovered that the Guide was NOT a local - but obvoiusly were in Bergen for a short amount of time making a buck on acting like a Guide. Our best advise is to stay away.

This is the email I sent to Lokafy that was never follow-up on. I waited a couple of weeks to give them ample time to reply, but they never replied. I guess customer satisfaction is not a priority!!
Dear Lokafy,
I am writing to you to express my extreme displeasure in the tour my family and our friends had in Bergen, Norway on Wednesday, May 29th with the "local" tour guide named Sabela. I think it's disgraceful for you to charge professional rates for services that were so terribly inadequate. Let me first begin with the fact that Sabela was late to our agreed on meeting point and time. (I would also like to mention here that I think it's incredibly unprofessional for a tour guide to ask for my personal email address and WhatsApp number all interactions should happen through the provider to alleviate awkward situations such as this. She has my personal information and can contact me after I provide her with a rightfully scathing review.) Once she finally arrived, she proceeded to disappear in the bathroom for an additional 10 minutes and said she would tack on 15 minutes at the end of the tour, like we had nothing else planned.
Once we finally exited the meeting location she proceeded to bad mouth a poor homeless person sitting in the rain at a bus stop, which I found not only in bad form but completely unnecessary. I think that's what she said, because I would like to mention here that our paid for "local" guide was in fact not local at all!! She was Spain and it was very hard to understand her English. During our tour she misquoted facts about Norwegian history unless it is true that Norway was never occupied during WWII and that the King was very beloved because he never left the country during the war. Look it up, none of what she says was true. Luckily one of the members of our group was a Scandinavian History major in college so we got the actual FACTS, not just some line of BS that she thinks dumb tourists will believe. She let us know in advance that Norwegians don't like tourists, which I thought was inappropriate for her say considering 1) she's not Norwegian so what does she know 2) we are tourists and she's making a living off of us, so is it necessary to insult us for wanting to learn about her adopted country? She constantly complained about the weather and it was so awkward because it felt like she was trying to talk us into cancelling the tour. It's Norway for goodness sake, who goes there for the weather?
During the entire tour she insisted on chewing gum. It was so unprofessional that I stopped listening to her, which was handy because on 2 separate occasions she stopped talking and instructed us to listen to other tour guides for information. One time was in Spanish. We all looked at her dumbfounded and she said "That's interesting. I didn't know that." She never told us what was interesting just kept that nugget of information for herself.
There is a reason that tour guides are trained to do tours, because there are certain skills needed to carry out an effective and well thought out tour. It probably doesn't take much to learn these key tips like 1) know who you are speaking to and cater to your clients such as a tour that has several children (the kids in our tour were generally ignored) and 2) actually know the facts that you are trying to teach your clients. Don't just make stuff up and hope that no one knows any different. If you don't plan on training your guides in any way, then you should seriously rethink your business model and start charging an appropriate amount (I'd say $20 tops!) for a substandard tour and not an eye watering $359.28 for 11 people to be bored out of their minds, wasting 2 hours waking around a city that we could have explored better ourselves. The three families in this tour are all ex-pats living abroad with extensive travel knowledge and not hacks that you can feed a load of junk to and we'll believe. We've had tours all over the world and I have never been so dis-satisfied as I have with your tour guide and your company. You should explicitly identify yourselves as having non-professional tour guides and prices your tours accordingly so people don't expect much.
I would like to conclude with the fact that she with a straight face asked for a tip at the end of the tour. Come on, was she kidding??
I'm happy to discuss this further and give you a perspective of what makes for a good tour from a consumer's point of view if you are interested. In the meantime I would like to request a refund for this horrible experience.

Hello Mary,
I am sorry to hear that your tour did not go as you expected. We spoke to the Lokafyer who was assigned to do your tour and discussed the situation. We also sent you an email to ask if you would be willing to have a phone call to clarify the situation.

Hola. Querría saber si podemos hacer el tour con nuestro perro, ya que viajamos con él. Está muy bien educado y no ocasionará ningún problema.

Hola, tu perrito no ocasionaría ningún problema.
