Wadi Shab er en veldig populær utendørsattraksjon i Oman for både lokalbefolkningen og expats, og folk drar dit for naturen, for å svømme i ferskvannsbassengene eller bare for å grille. Hovedattraksjonen til wadi er fossen i hulen, som du kan nå etter en 40-minutters fottur og svømming i 2-3 bassenger. Amazing place, we had the best time swimming through the wadi and jumping off rocks. So much fun and our group of people was great. I would just suggest you hire a car/ taxi and do it yourself. If you research before it would be easy enough to do.
Recommend packing water shoes, cap/ hat, top all for swimming as you’re exposed to the sun throughout swimming and walking. Very hot over 40 in June so I walked in a long sleeve top and shorts then swam in them as it’s a real pain/ dusty/ hot trying to change out there. Walking trainers/ boots are needed too as the 40min walk to the water is uneven and rocky so don’t wear flip flops!
3* was for the tour itself as it’s extremely overpriced for what’s offered. £80ish per person for a group tour of 10 people which only offered transport to wadi, lunch, sinkhole and back. The ‘guide’ was really just a driver. No information was given on anything about the places we went. No care was given to help people if they wanted to climb etc he just left you to it - some guidance would have been helpful as to what we could or couldn’t do. Lunch was pretty bad, simple meat, rice and pita bread plus a weird soup drink in a rough looking ‘restaurant’ so I’d bring your own food.

My tour guide was Mahmood and he made this amazing tour that much more special. His love for his country and his job flow freely through the tour and the information he provides. He is able to modify the tour to fit each travelers' comfort and ability levels. The hike through Wadi Shab to the waterfalls feels other-worldly. It is just stunning! Book the tour, you won't regret it! If you get to choose your guide, Mahmood is the Man!

It IS a fantastic experience in a beautiful landscape. Absolutely 5 Stars worth, amazing! BUT in May it's a demanding walk in the heat, you have to be fit! And please take the offer of the life jacket if you're not a good swimmer, no false pride. Makes it easier for the guide and the rest of the tour group. The last pool is deep and long, no possibilities to hold to the rocks at the side, they are too slippery.

What a great day !
It was exactly what we were hoping for : aventure and discovery in family!
Given the fact we were with 3 Kids (12 / 10 and 6 years old).
The site is stunning of course.
We were led by a sportive and passionate guide, Hamood, who shared a lot of the culture and history of his country. The rythm was really good and adapted : no rush, true enjoyement and yet a very full day. Not only a guide, we really felt that Hamood took care of each of us.
It was exactly what we were hoping for : aventure and discovery in family!

Our first attempt to visit Wadi Shab on Sunday, April 14th was unfortunately unsuccessful due to heavy rains. However, the tour company kindly allowed us to reschedule for free, and we went again the following weekend - what an unforgettable experience!
A few tips: be sure to purchase special water shoes for swimming and a waterproof case to take pictures and videos in and under the water. The views are breathtaking and something you'll remember for a lifetime. While water is provided, it's advisable to bring additional drinks as well. If you're not a strong swimmer, you can rent a life jacket for just 1 Omani Rial as there is a significant amount of swimming involved.
The second time around was simply magical. If we return to Oman, a visit to Wadi Shab is an absolute must. Highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike! The journey through the canyon, wading through water, and emerging into hidden pools was like stepping into another world. Don't miss this incredible natural wonder.

We were not sure what to expect but it exceeded our expectations. Quite a long picturesque hike to the wadis, refreshing swim well needed after the hike. Quite scary going into the tunnel to the cave but a sense of accomplishment when we got in, it was also spectacular and worth it if you are not claustrophobic. Amazing experience and highly recommended if you have stamina. There is also the bonus of the short sink hole visit for a further dip. Our guide was helpful friendly and accommodating. Well worth the money highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The tour through Wadi Shab was amazing. Beautiful views and led by a very knowledgeable tour guide who aided members of the group when the hike got a bit challenging. BRING WATER SHOES NOT FLIP-FLOPS!!

I have a knee injury but I can walk fine. However I have a few questions?
1. Is climbing involved?
2. Do you have to jump down from any high places?
3. A lot of travellers have said that you have to walk over a slot of slippery rocks, but is there something to hold onto?

I did this last week for the first time. There is no climbing, the path is flat initially then becomes slightly ‘bumpy’ at the end, but still flat and takes 40 mins.
I highly recommended a tour guide as it’s easy to get lost, and they tell you the best places to walk etc.
The slippery parts are really only in the swimming area. You need to buy shoes (tour guide will stop on the way 5-10 rial). There is nothing built to hold onto it’s all you holding onto rocks, but is not difficult just take it slow and small steps.
The swimming part (about 1hr 30 all together) goes shallow deep shallow deep. It’s fresh water so not the same as salt water, so you need to be a half good swimmer, otherwise get a life jacket (sold at the beginning of the walk). Hope this helps!
