The worst experience of my vacation.
I received an email stating that my itinerary changed because the ports were closed due to weather. Trip advisor did not allow me to copy and paste text verbatim from the email I received on this review.

Boat ride to Holbox
Hoyo negro Yalahau - 1 hour
Isla De La Pasion - 2 hours
Holbox Island - 3 hours free time
Use of a bicycle

Ferry ride to Holbox
Punta Mosquito - 1 hour
Punta Cocos - 1 hour
Holbox Center - 2 hours free time
Shared Golf Cart for 3 Hours or Bicycle for 3 Hours
The change in itinerary I understand due to inclement weather. What I don’t understand is that my tour was shortened by 2 hours, the least they could have done was provided the use of a golf cart or bicycle for the 4 hours we were there for or refunded a small portion of the $469.96 USD we paid for the tour.
Here was the worst part. I called the night before our tour to confirm pickup and was told to be in the lobby of my hotel at 6:00 AM. My hotel, Plaza Cancun, does not have a lobby so I told them that we would be outside the gate at 6:00 AM.
I woke up my family, wife and two kids (8 and 12), at 5:00 AM to get ready and to ensure that we were outside by 6:00 AM, and we were. Transportation (the bus) was not there. I called at 6:12 and get a hold of Carlos after 3 phone call attempts at 6:14, he places me on hold while he contacts the driver (4 minute hold time) and at 6:18 states that the driver said he was little behind and is 5 minutes out. At 6:41, I called Carlos 3 times as no transportation had arrived but he didn’t not answer my calls. He called back at 6:47 stating that the transportation had broken down, don’t know how true that is, and that we needed to catch a taxi from our hotel to the comfort inn by the airport as quickly as possible because the guide was waiting on us. We did, an additional 500 pesos, which we were reimbursed. We arrive at the comfort inn at 7:00, no guide and no transportation is there. I called Carlos 7 times and finally answers on the 8th attempt, at 7:04. He stated that the guide was there and would call him to come out and meet us outside. At 7:14, still no guide and no transportation called Carlos again and answered on the third attempt. He placed me on hold for 5 minutes while he contacted the driver, while doing that the bus pulled up at 7:20. Waiting for transportation outside for over 1 hour and 20 minutes on a very humid morning with 2 sleepy children and then having me catch a taxi to a different hotel is unacceptable.
The bus that picked us up had the name Cancun Discovery and the guide was wearing a shirt with the logo Tour Suaste, so the company may operate under different names or could be a third party vendor.
The tour guides were very friendly. We we were dropped off on the island and we’re pointed to we’re the different beaches we’re. There was no actual tour. Holbox was amazing.
This was my experience and may not have been the same for others.
