入場料と移動を考えたら決して高くない。船での移動をおすすめします。
乗船時間は７０分、川からの眺めも良かった。
川風にあたるので寒さ対策と動物園ですので、靴はスニーカーをおすすめします。
園内も混雑なく充分な時間見学でき満足。手を洗う大型シンク、ペーパータオルも
完備されていてとても良かった。
手入れの行き届いたきれいな動物園でした。

Visited at end of May with family. Sanctuary is only 20-25 minutes drive from downtown and easy to hail rideshare when ready to leave.
There is a ton of wildlife to see but of course the main 2 attractions are the Koala and Kangaroo areas. The Kangaroo feeding area is huge and you can buy a bag of food for $2 at the entrance or at the general store. Feeding the kangaroo is a fun experience. There are dozens of all ages roaming the area and it is appropriate for kids of all ages. Feeding them is easy and you can get great pictures of your interactions. We spent almost 90 mins there and it flew by. Tip: go there in morning before any kid/school groups come by.
We did the Koala “hold” experience which lets you hold a Koala in your arms and you receive a printout of a professionally taken photo. A trainer is there with you and tells you exactly what to do and how to hold them. Make reservations in advance online if you want to do any of the experiences. We saw some people try to buy tickets last minute and they couldn’t. The food options are limited, but it’s a quick trip back to city if you want to wait to eat. All staff are super friendly. If you are visiting Brisbane, you have to include this in your trip.

The river cruise to the sanctuary was great. Enjoyed the commentary of the history and points of interest. The Miramar crew was friendly and personable. The boat was clean and comfortable with the availability to buy snacks and drinks.
The Lone Pine Sanctuary was very nice, clean, and enjoyable. The amount of time to spend at the sanctuary was enough to be able to see everything. This experience was great and very enjoyable. A must do!

The boat trip was great, a really good commentary on the way, the staff were all really lovely and the warm blankets were just what I needed to spot outside. The koala sanctuary was awesome. I loved hand feeding the kangaroos and having small parrots land on my head at feeding time. My only complaint is that 3 hours at the koala sanctuary wasn't anywhere near enough time to see all the animals and birds and go to all the talks and displays. I ended up staying the whole afternoon as I was enjoying myself so much and got a lift back into the city centre with a random stranger! Other than this I would give the tour 9 out of 10 :-)

What an awesome day! We had a group of 11. First the river boat tour which was great-saw beautiful homes and learned the history of the area.
The Koala bear sanctuary was awesome. We saw how well taken care of the animals were and loved the show showing the dogs handling the sheep-don't miss that!
We all said it was better than we thought it would be!

Amazing place to spot some Koala's , Kangaroo's and some other Australian animal and reptile species.

Loved how hugely and wise spread the area is and all the animals care taken off..

Since the scantuary closes at 5pm, it is advisable to go an hour prior to that so you can feed the kangaroo's and take photos with Koala's (star attraction of the Scantuary).

Absolutely love the boat ride! Amazing commentary and yummy goodies to have with tea onboard! The scenery was spectacular and to finally meet all the beautiful animals and their care takers really made us feel happy we went on this trip. My partner and I would definitely consider doing it again when in Brisbane!

This was a really great day trip. Easy to find the departure and arrival location on SouthBank, with an informative and entertaining narrative about the river and properties on your way to the sanctuary.
Lone Pine was very good. The timing of the trip to Lone Pine is perfect, without being rushed. You’ll have plenty of time to see all the animals and look around, grab some lunch without feeling rushed.
Feeding the kangaroos is a great experience, and the layout of lone pine makes it really easy to see the koalas close up.
This is a great trip, and good value for money with the river cruise right to and from Brisbane centre, if you’re travelling without a car.
Very friendly and helpful crew on the boat too.

We will be coming in by cruise ship on 14 February. How far is it to the departure point? When do you return? We need to get to airport to take a shuttle to Sunshine Coast that afternoon. Shoul we just go to airport from sanctuary? Thanks RIchard Sonstelie

What time does the boat leave the koala sanctuary if it leaves Brisbane at 10am. I'd love the opportunity to book a koala handling experience but it's at 2.30pm & obviously don't want to miss the boat. Thanks!

I believe there is a koala holding experience starting at noon. The guide on the boat will tell you that if you want to hold a koala, then go directly to that area immediately on arrival. Yes, there will be a line, but you will have plenty of time afterwards to see the other animals without missing the boat back to Brisbane. If my husband didn’t get to hold a koala, he would have refused to leave Australia!

How do I purchase in advance for tickets to see and hold koalas? As I understand, there is a different line to purchase those tickets once I get to the Koala Sanctuary; am I right?

I did not realize that Miramar had 2 boats. We took the slow one for a leisurely and sight full of the beautiful homes on the Brisbane River.

We are arriving in Brisbane on the Sea Princess on Oct 26, 2018.
The ships tour for the Lonepine Sanctuary is sold out and we would like to take this trip.
Can we get a taxi from the cruise terminal to the South Bank Pontoon?
The excursion gets back at 3:30, our ship leaves at 5:00. Too tight.

We took a train from Central Station and were fetched at the arriving station by a bus from Lone Pine. You might look at the train schedual to see if that is an obtion for you.

Does one need to prebook to be able to hold a koala? I read that a couple of people said that tickets were sold out for that when they arrived. Also if I book in advance does the "express boat" still offer narration or is that just for the cruise boat?

You are no longer able to prebook the Koala Holding Experience. Most days you are able to hold a Koala however recently a few Koalas had small joeys and were not able to be held. On the rare occasion that you may miss out on holding a Koala there is always a ranger in the Koala Enclosure with a Koala that you are able to pat and take photos, which is just as special. The Express boat does not have any commentary, however will slow down and point things out along the way. Hope this helps.
