Fully recomend!!! Amazing experience. They have also tea, coffee, hot chocolate. The staff was so kind. Nice views. We couldnt see the dolphins :(

Amazing cruise trip. Only Mitre Peak Cruises covered the other bits of the the sounds not any other. Kao was the captain, he demonstrated the history of the sounds clearly and very informative. Kao too his time stopped and got the cruise close enough so we could see them. Too close to the waterfall and that was an amazing experiences standing in front of the cruise. Big shout out to the captain of the cruise.

The water was pretty rough that day with heavy rain, but for the most part the cruise was good and allowed us to see many temporary and semi-permanent waterfalls and take many wonderful photos.

A must do when visiting South Island in New Zealand. Mitrepeak cruises in collaboration with Altitude tours is highly recommended- Altitude tours offers premium small group tour to and back to Milford Sound. Our guide ‘Do’ was absolutely wonderfully- she was very knowledgeable- great sense of humour, very patient. Stopped along the way at some amazing scenic locations Mitre peak cruise was an amazing experience- the captain was very knowledgeable- pointed out some amazing rare wildlife-including the Fiorland crested penguin(so lucky) Overall great experience- definitely recommended!

It was a great experience, we learnt a lot about Milford Sound from our captain and even got to see penguins and seals. The booking was straightforward and we left on time, the tea and coffee on board was also good. I would definitely book this tour again.

We called Mitre Peak Cruise for the Milton Sound Fjords cruise with transfer from Te Anau.
We had a great day.
We loved travelling in a small van that offers great flexibility with regular photo stops. Jeff's explanations and driving were at their best on the way out and back!
We were able to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
As for the cruise, great! Our boat was human-sized. It was possible to circulate to make lots of beautiful photos.
If you want a more intimate experience, away from the masses of buses and massive boats. Call on them.
We had a great day.

We booked this trip because it was the least expensive on the day.
There was nothing budget though, it was a great trip. Captain Kahu was very knowledgeable and kept things interesting.
He showed us exactly the same waterfalls that the people on the big expensive cruises saw!! It would be hard to justify the price difference, these guys were on point and delivered a great experience…. A not to be missed experience for the entire family.

Masks are required while indoors All particpants who are over 12 years old must present proof of full vaccination
Even if these measures have been recently updated, our ethical values are such that we cannot support a business that endorses such medical apartheid and discrimination. We will now support a cruise that chooses not to discriminate against people based on medical status.

I believe they didnt ask for any proof of being vaccinated especially as we got done with vaccine passes back in may and mask weren't required and are no longer now

We drove from Te Anau to Milford Sound and it was an easy drive, but it was breathtaking! Driving yourself you get to stop along the way and see the different areas, walk around, and take pictures.

Don't know how the weather will be. I don't think there could be any minuses. It was raining a little when we went in April and the waterfalls were spectacular. I recommend booking through Mitre Peak Tours. They are a smaller company with a smaller but very clean boat. They were the only tour that went beyond the channel into the ocean and their price was best. We did not have a boatload of tourist which made it very enjoyable.

Smallest boat - Mitre Peak - gets you right up to the seals and almost under the waterfall. Great crew. Also the price varies by the time of the day. The afternoon cruises after 3 pm are cheaper. But winter time gets dark earlier too! You can book when you get there. Discount sites like bookme sell you the tickets to the same boats for less but generally these sell out a few days in advance
