Fantastic booking service that helped our group find the best places for our party of nine. We had an epic time tasting at The Winery Arrowtown and lunch at Ayrburn despite the rain. Our driver, Bryce/pistol Pete was fantastic! Fives stars for him too!

Had an absolutely brilliant day out.
Old Pete (his words!) Made it a thoroughly enjoyable day.
You can tell that he loves what he does. He was very informative and we learned a lot about the area. He's funny too.
10/10 definitely recommend.

very disappointing service,
we were told to be ready for the bus to arrive 5 minutes early at each stop, only to wait 15+ minutes as the bus was late to every stop we went to, except for the first stop of the day were the bus was 10 minutes early, when we called and asked for clarity on where the bus stop is and what time to arrive the person on the other line proceeded to try and pin the blame on us for their poor service. One of the buses is old and very rickety felt as though hit was going to break down at any moment. The older man was very rude and condescending towards my family and I, he told us that he was unable to take us to the Gibbston tavern, even though it was clearly stated on the route and pressured us to get out at whatever stop he pleased. This business shouldn't include 'tour' in the title as it is more easily described as an overpriced public transport system as there is no flexibility and everything is completely on their terms, I would not recommend to anyone complete rip off.

We are sorry to hear that your experience with our Hop on Hop off Wine Tours did not meet your expectations.
Please note, we do not ever instruct customers that our buses will arrive 5 minutes early at any stop. Our buses are scheduled to run on time, but occasional delays can occur due to factors beyond our control, such as traffic or roadworks. When delays do happen, we make every effort to get back on schedule as quickly as possible and ensure our customers are informed.
Regarding your concerns about the condition of our buses, we take vehicle maintenance very seriously. All of our buses are regularly inspected to ensure they are in good working condition, and we adhere to strict safety standards.
Our buses move in a forward motion and all the driver follows that. Unless customers want to return back to the venue that's passed, all our drivers understand that.
We do not understand. This is not how we operate at all and we are wondering if you have been on our tour at all.

Really great tour to do! It was flexible so you could get off wherever or stay on till the next one. The drivers (Pete, re-pete and matty) were really nice and informative. The places we most enjoyed stopped at were

We had an extremely disappointing experience with Hop On Hop Off Wine Tours and cannot emphasise enough how terrible it was. Firstly, they were 20 minutes late due to getting the pick-up location wrong, which is highly unprofessional. Secondly, the fire extinguisher test was out of date (we have photographic evidence), making us feel explicitly unsafe.
Additionally, the driver had his wife sitting next to him throughout the day, which we found to be very unprofessional. Furthermore, they were incredibly rude and unaccommodating about our purchase through Grabone, refusing to allow one of our friends on the bus despite it being empty and having plenty of space, all while the driver's wife occupied a seat.
Lastly, we felt used, abused, insulted, and embarrassed for using language that is considered normal in our daily conversations, but we were criticised by a driver who wasn’t even from our country. The entire experience was absolutely unacceptable.
In summary, Hop On Hop Off Wine Tours is unsafe, unprofessional and disrespectful. I highly recommend avoiding this company at all costs. Kia tūpato ki tēnei kamupene. Kaua e haere!

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review.
Firstly, I would like to clarify that the fire extinguisher is not out of date, it was checked in January for the Certificate of Fitness (COF), that was on the 24th of January and it is valid for 6 months.
Secondly, in regard to the GrabOne tickets, we have an allocation of 6 Grabones per day and you contacted us yesterday saying you had purchased two and we had already had four purchased. I made the booking for you. Your comment that the bus wasn’t full is irrelevant. As a business the buses cannot run with discounted tickets.
Towards the end of the day, you were intoxicated and using foul language, which made other customers uncomfortable. You were swearing made comments about other clients calling them f’ing Germans but using the full language. We do not let clients swear in the bus, which you did constantly. Additionally, you were walking along the moving bus, which is posed a high safety risk.
We strive to provide a safe and respectful environment for all customers and your group did not seem to respect it .
Swearing loudly in public is NOT common practice in New Zealand
We will not tolerate any racist remarks or swearing on the bus!

I was so excited to embark on hop off hop off tours in Queenstown. My family was going, and I genuinely had been excited about a wine tour for such a long time. I was so upset with the experience.
Firstly, the driver made a mistake and was 20 minutes late. He apologised, and those mistakes I can understand
But secondly, his wife was on board, on an empty bus after they had told us we were at capacity so our friend was not alllowed onboard
Thirdly, Mateo was seen at a bus stop waiting before us so he did not have to pick us up 100 m down the road even a minute before he had to in the cold despite us waving him down
And lastly, what made us most upset was the conversation our self and our driver had about swear words. I understand that could be upsetting to a lot of people, but the mere f word being grounds for confiscation seems unjust. It is a very common word here and no where in their policy explicitly states we should not use it.
Do not ride here again unless you are ready to be disappointed.

This was a great way to experience multiple wineries and learn about the local area. Highly recommend this, so much choice and very easy to follow! Our tour guide Peter was AMAZING; so friendly and courteous! Extremely good value for money!

I visited a tasting room adjacent to a vineyard in the Arrowtown valley. The explanation of the climate of southern New Zealand and the grape varieties suitable for it was impressive. In particular, guide Alana was very impressive. In addition to explaining the region and wine and beer, he introduced everyone who participated in the tour and provided guidance so that we could socialize together. I want to do it together next time.

I have done this tour probably five times - it is the best way to see the vineyards!! Easy to book, on time, great value! We didn't book anywhere as I prefer a glass of wine or a wine flight to an actual tasting. We had no problems getting in where we wanted. The let down this time was the drivers, Pete & Pete - oh dear!! Go find a job you like because clearly this is not the one for you. Rude!! Not the experience we want for our tourists!!

Just to clarify, if we are wanting to finish the tour a bit earlier (i.e. after 2-3 stops for example) do we just hop back on the bus and it will take us back into town?

Nope! This is the problem I had, I followed the time table and said they going to go back into arrowtown, but the driver even refused to continue with the timetable as “all people are now in the valley and it doesn’t work that way” so took a break instead.
We had to organise our own way back into town as we started at the I think 10/10.30am tour and didn’t want to stay until 5.30pm for the back to town stop

I didn't notice since I'm not vegan. Normally, producers or retailers don't specifically separate the wines suitable for vegan from others in their tasting room or on their bottle shops. You might find the relevant information from the back labels or from their websites.

Hi,
WOuld like some clarification. The cost per person is really for the transport to the different places, but each passenger can hop off and stay in a place and then hop on again to go to another place? So how many times can you hop on and off in a day? How long can you use the ticket? If we are 14, is it possible to create a tour for us specifically? How much would that cost?
