We booked a private Rainbow Mountain Tour and it was AMAZING! We left really early, around 2;30 am in a warm and comfortable van from Cusco. They provided blankets for us to sleep on the 3 hour drive and when we arrived we were the only people there! Flashpacker provided coffee, light breakfast etc...then, we started our walk/hike with our guide. It was truly unbelievable to have the place to ourselves all the way to the top! Just us and some alpacas racing each other to the top! On the hike down around 9 am, the mobs of people were coming! We felt so happy to have had such a magical experience all to ourselves thanks to Flashpackers impeccable planning.. We had a lovely sit down lunch on the way back to Cusco and it was all perfect!

I loved the entire day and all of my experience. Great guide, great driver, great snacks, comfy car & DELISH Peruvian lunch at a special place just for this tour. It was an early morning but well worth it. Beat the crowds!!! Ask for Jacob (& driver Mario) Jacob was so fun. He was very attentive to our needs and our experience of the entire day. He was very knowledgeable & we had a great conversations learning about the Peruvian culture and all other things. Jacob took phenomenal photos for myself & my friend & fun videos. He knows all the perfect picture spots and all of the best angles. I happened to be there on my birthday and at the very end of the tour, Jacob, Mario and the flash packer team showed up and surprised me with a birthday song and cake! It was such a good day. I will be booking all future tours with them. They can organize anything around Peru. USE FASHPACKER!!! They will not disappoint and help you create memories of a lifetime 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Jacob was our guide and Mario was our driver. They were so great to visit with and Jacob was knowledgeable and helpful! And funny! We had the best experience and highly recommend them for all your tours in Cusco and around Peru!

Our initial plan was to go to Rainbow Mountain which was closed because of local tribe issues, so we were given this alternative which we did some reading up on and found out it’s a great alternative so we chose this even when rainbow mountain opened the same morning our tour began.
It was the earliest pick up on any tour we’ve ever been on (3:00am) but was by request since our small group just ended up being the 2 of us… and the smart choice! It’s a 4 hour drive from Cusco. We got there at 7am and there were only a couple of people there with us. By the time we were coming down from our short hike, there were nearly a hundred people on their way up the trail and arriving.
Our guide Yeicob was awesome, calm, collected, attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. We had blankets during the van ride, breakfast on our arrival, lunch afterwards from an amazing chef, Mario I believe was his name, and t-shirts given as a souvenir!
What I appreciated the most about our guide was his knowledge and attentiveness to altitude sickness. I was not expecting to struggle as much as I did, but 16,000 feet is no joke at all! And I like to call myself decently young (40) and well conditioned/healthy. So it was surprising how much it hit me but he knew exactly what to do and his calm demeanor was the most comforting during it.
The three mountains were beautiful and the views were great. In all honesty, would I do it again, absolutely not. But am I glad I can say I did it and experienced 16,000 feet? I think so… (my husband was quite a bit better off than I was).
I’d say just be prepared, take it slow, and listen to your guide and let them help you when they offer.

LeAnn reached out right before we boarded our flights with changes to our Original Rainbow mountain 1 day. Due to local community conflicts, we opted to change our 1 day tour to Tres rainbow according to LeAnn’s recommendation. She was very patient and creative in ways to workaround changes since our first booking pre-COVID.
My husband and I were the only two on the tour that day. Jacob, our guide, Met us at our hotel at 3am in the morning and we went on the most breathtaking walk I could have imagined. Seeing the Rainbow mountains itself was great, but I have to say we were most impressed by the quiet wilderness throughout our hike more than the destination itself.
Jacob took such good care of us throughout the hike. Constantly checking on our breathing, our pace, and oxygen levels. He was also the best photographer and videographer we could have asked for. Thanks to him, we have many photos to remember our trip by. We also loved how much Jacob was passionate in sharing about the culture and history of Cusco and the Inca’s.
Flashpacker came highly recommended from a friend of ours, and they definitely did not disappoint!

What an amazing experience. My husband and I were picked up at our hotel on time and met our guide Joaquin and driver David. Joaquin was very informative and kind. He made sure we were doing well on the trek and taking breaks when needed. Lunch was amazing and they prepared m entire vegan fest. I would definitely recommend doing this tour as we arrived early without the crowds.

I originally found this company via TripAdvisor and so far this site hasn’t let me down. We originally booked the other Rainbow mountain but heard from someone else it was not a good experience due to the crowds so I changed it to Tres Rainbow. Our guide was Abel and he was informative and kind. He contacted me via WhatsApp while in Peru. We got picked up at 3am and we were the only ones on the tour. The van had three rows besides the driver row and seats could recline and a pillow and blanket were provided. We were the first ones at the site, which was amazing because as more vans arrived it was like seeing ants line up in a row. Tres Rainbow is more popular now because the other Rainbow is currently closed. Our driver, Mario, was great and made us feel safe. Our cook, Mario, concocted a homemade meal with soup and probably eight other dishes with variety from chicken, broccoli, tofu, quinoa cakes and fruit. It was a feast. We had the opportunity to use two bathrooms, both clean. The first time was after we finished up at Tres Rainbow. And then again where we had lunch. It was a beautiful day and we even got to see vicuñas. Oh and make sure you have coins to pay for the first bathroom and if you want a photo with an alpaca or llama.

It was a super fun trip and the guides could not have been better! Giovanny was very friendly and the whole crew was accommodating. Mario our driver was very friendly as well. We went very early in the morning (highly recommended to beat the large crowd). They gave us breakfast for the ride there.
When hiking, Giovanny was very informative and helpful. He explained all the landscapes, the culture and the history. He took a lot of pictures for us and showed us the best places to take pictures. We hiked all the way to the peak of the trail and it was a glorious view. He was patient with us because while the hike is not a great distance, it is a very high altitude. He was very understanding and encouraging, especially to our 10 year old son.
On the ride back we stopped for lunch made by the cooks Mario (the second Mario) and Valerio. The food was outstanding and there was a lot of it. We all ate together and talked about history and culture.
We even stopped at a famous bridge on the way back that dates back to the 1600s and took pictures. Giovanny explained the history and significance of the bridge. Very cool.
All in all, it was a great trip and I would recommend it to anyone visiting and thinking of going. Highly recommend this tour guide group! They were first class all the way!

Giovanny, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the background history of the landscape we visited. He was very patient with us, and he took his time explaining all the questions we had for him about the history of the Peruvian culture. He made sure we were comfortable enough with the hike, especially we brought our 10 year old kid with us, who had no patience with walking but had a lot of energy to beat us down at the end of the hike.
Our driver, Mario, was amiable. While we slept the entire time on the way to Palccoyo, Mario made sure we get to the destination safely. We were very impressed on how he navigates the van he’s driving especially with the narrow roads!
Our chefs, Valerio and Mario 2, prepared a spread of amazing typical Peruvian food. My son loves the fried chicken and the squash soup (and he doesn’t even like vegetables!).
We definitely recommend this group tour and we loved how private and personalized the tour is. We were the first group ever made to Palccoyo. All the tour groups came around the time we were descending from the mountains!

We did the Tres Rainbows hike and added on the Incan bridge. We originally planned to do Rainbow Mountain, but unfortunately is closed the week we were supposed to go. Flash Backpackers was great with quickly emailing us an alternative option and including a private chef (Mario, his food is great!!).
Joaquin was our guide and he ensured we were on time and taught us all about the local culture. He also always made sure to pull over for any cool photo opportunities and bathrooms. Super kind, knowledgeable, and friendly guide.
I’d highly recommend doing this tour if rainbow mountain is closed. Do note, it’s almost 10 hours of driving if you add on the Incan bridge. However the scenery is beautiful the whole way.

Good morning! We have just paid 250U$ for the tour "Montanha Tres Arco-Íris a partir de Cusco, Peru". We are 4 all together (2 adults and 2 children). We did not find the option to pay to our two daugthers Nicole (14yo) and Natalia (8yo). Is that right? What would you suggest?

Four of us went on this tour during our second full day in Peru. While we we all felt the altitude to an extent, the hike is relatively short. My father who is out of shape waited by the vehicle, while the remaining three of us all completed the hike. We had minor headaches, but nothing that we couldn't handle. Overall, this tour was the absolute highlight of our entire trip and should not be missed! Highly recommend.
