Awesome Staff and amazing event with family. Kama'āina rates also save a few bucks for a great time.... very humbling and majestic event that really brings you closer to the islands.

We just got married and the one thing we really wanted to do is the night swim with the mantas. I knowingly get sea sick and I still wanted to really do this. I love the ocean and the ocean life and thought this would be a very special thing to celebrate our wedding. We had Captain Mikey and Ben and they knew I got seasick and were so amazing! From the moment I saw Captain Mikey he had a huge smile on his face! He kept checking in on me to make sure I was ok, the sweetest most friendly captain you could ask for. Both were super knowledgeable and made this so fun! Despite getting sick from the waves I would totally do this again. It was an amazing experience starting even with the call to the shop to ask questions. Everyone was so customer service friendly and we felt really well taken care of. The shop also was super nice! We got to swim with a manta and I would do this all over again knowing I would get sick. We brought our GoPro and got amazing footage of the night swim! I highly recommend this night swim and make sure to ask for Captain Mikey B!

My adult daughters and I had an amazing experience with Big Island Divers seeing the Manta Rays! We did the snorkel swim and I wasn't expecting to see the Rays so close up -we probably saw 15-20 different rays swimming right up to our masks - the rays "somersault" over and over again to feed and they do so within inches of the swimmers- incredible! Big Island Divers provided a safe, well-organized and respectful wildlife experience. The team was professional, fun and highly experienced. The boat was comfortable and clean. Would recommend Big Island divers without any reservations.

Tha snorkel trip was amazing, we saw so many manta I couldn't keep track! The crew was great! This is the 3rd time booking with this company and I highly recommend them!

Got your attention! Now on to my dive experience- It’s always been a bucket list item. All divers want to see the mantas up close and personal- and this trip did not disappoint! The fish were big, beautiful and graceful. Truly awe inspiring to see these gorgeous giants soar over head- within inches of your mask. The dive masters were great- Kate was super-friendly and knowledgeable. She added a lot to the experience- I’m glad that she was on our boat! Mikey-D was a great captain as well- there was another dive master whose name escapes me now- sorry 😬😜! I highly recommend Big Island Divers. I’ll be back in the future and call them again!

I recently completed the 2 tank Manta dive with BID. It was refreshing to have a dive team take the time to ensure that all divers were geared up correctly and properly weighted by carrying out weight checks before descending.
During the dive, we saw the beautiful Manta Ray's perform their grace-like dance in front of the campfire.
It was a truly memorable moment and one that I will cherish.
Big thank you to the crew, DM Kate, DM Cosmo, and Captain Tiler for the experience.
If you are thinking of taking this trip, I strongly recommend it.

"Big Island Divers" provided an outstanding experience. My son and I (Scuba Certified) went on the Night Manta Ray dive while his buddy snorkeled above. Perfect night, lots of Manta Rays, professional staff and crew.
My son and his friend also did the 1 Diver, 1 Discover SCUBA Diver morning trip. The Dive Master was exceptional, and my son's friend enjoyed his intro to diving experience immensely. When on the "Big Island" check out "Big Island Divers"; you won't be disappointed.

Flew up from Oahu with my daughter to see the manta rays just after sunset. A really splendid outing - the rays are fascinating, and the crew - Jamie especially - were really helpful in every respect . . . especially for a guy in his 70s!

April 8, 2023 - The night was EPIC!!! The Big Island Divers boat slip was easy to find in the Marina as we arrived around 4:30pm. Earlier that day, we had stopped into the actual Dive Shop to check in. Although I had just purchased a new wetsuit, I wasn’t happy with my fit. While names escape me, the lady at the dive shop was exceedingly helpful, and assisted me in using one of theirs for the evening. At the slip, Laura got everyone fitted in their wetsuits. We set aside our shoes before boarding the boat, and we were off both snorkelers and divers together. As we sped out to our rendezvous with the Mantas, we were offered fresh, sweet pineapple and cold water. After about a 25 minute ride, we reached our destination as one of the first boats to arrive just as the sun was setting.
Rules were shared about entering the water, not touching the mantas, extending arms and legs out from the surfboard (we easily held on to rope handles attached to the large surf board in the water); all were gone over so everyone knew exactly what to expect and to do. Next, we put on our equipment. Divers entered the water first. Snorkelers followed one at a time placing their fins on before they exited the boat and slid into the water. As darkness descended, the stars appeared twinkling in a joyous abundance. The excitement began to build as the snorkelers could see the silhouettes of mantas appearing down below at the “fireside” around the huge lights in the water where the divers were sitting. I counted at least 6 circling in some sort of underwater dance below.
And then, and then I saw one appearing in the darkness coming toward us. It seemed to glow in the deep. The next thing I knew, 1, then 2, then several came to our surfboard, and these 10 foot+ mantas performed the most beautifully choreographed slow ballet of summersaults right in front of our masks. One could easily see that they weren’t the same ones because each manta’s markings on their chests are individually unique. We watched in awe as again and again, they each took turns performing their spellbinding ballet one, two, and three individuals summersaulting at a time. Before we knew it, it was time to return to the boat.
Everyone was ecstatic from the experience. After stowing our equipment and abandoning our wetsuits, we settled down to some hot cocoa and snacks for the ride back. At some point, Tyler, our captain, turned off the lights on the boat so we could see the stars. This truly was an epic night as my 3 friends and I checked off another bucket list experience. I highly recommend Big Island Divers, a team of professionals who want you to have fun but to do it safely in such a way as to protect both you and the mantas. Laura, our handler, and Tyler, our captain, were amazing as we were on the biggest of the Big Island Divers’ boats.
