YOU MUST DO THIS. Incredible staff, unreal sights, immaculate all the way around. Staff was fun and knowledgeable, made it easy to relax and enjoy. Stopped at 4 snorkel spots and they let you go as long as you want. Molokini Crater was epic, turtles were all around you, music on the boat was appropriate, breakfast and lunch were provided. Check in was easy and parking was right on sight. Can’t think of a single down side. If you want to have a memorable snorkel experience in Maui, this is it.
One recommendation I saw other guests on our boat do was bring a waterproof camera or waterproof phone case. Thankfully they took pictures of us and airdropped them for us, which is a great keepsake!

We had a fantastic time on our full morning of snorkeling with Dani and Josh (who were superb guides). Molokini has unbelievably clear water... like swimming in an aquarium. I have never before snorkeled with such excellent visibility. Truly unbelievable. Lots of fish variety and beautiful coral. However, the best part was on the back side of Molokini. I won't ruin the surprise, but it's like nothing you've ever experienced before. We also did a South side drift dive and swam with turtles at their "cleaning station". Dani provided lots of history and geological information. We had a view of the major and some minor islands. The boat was in great condition and the trip was well organized. Breakfast and lunch served... and appreciated. They provide snorkel equipment if needed, including a wet suit if desired... and we were happy to have them! Meeting at the Kihei boat ramp was very easy and convenient as we were staying just down the street, parking available. I highly recommend this trip for all levels of snorkelers.

My husband and I had the best day! We loved doing the 5 hour tour. A stunning day and we were able to see so many fish, turtles, a monk seal and a pack of spinner dolphins! Wow! Dani and Ali were so fun and knowledgable and made the trip really enjoyable for all. They knew all of our names and made us feel very welcome. Really appreciated learning about Hawaii islands and marine life, geology, etc. It was a wonderful experience to see Maui from the water and have a great boat ride (Dani was excellent and driving the boat)! Thanks so much, we will def recommend to friends.

Our group of 4 (including 9 and 11 year old boys) loved this adventure! The bumpy, zippy boat made us all smile and ensured we had plenty of time in the water for 4 different snorkeling spots! We were all inexperienced snorkelers and the crew was really great. I didn't think my 9 year old was brave enough to do it but he did! The dropoff was crazy to see and a pod of dolphins swam around our boat for a while. But, turtle town was the best! So many turtles all around you. It will always be a favorite memory. We would totally do the 5 hour tour with Redline Rafting again.
I only have 2 points of feedback to make this experience even better. First, the captain told most of the people on our boat that we didn't have *true* reef friendly sunscreen. I am all for protecting the coral (Sun Bum lotion didn't make the cut...apparently I should have bought the white bottle). But, this info would have been really helpful 1-2 days before the ride, as 5 hours sunscreen free for my kids is not an option. Second, we had a BLAST, but left with almost no photos. Would be cool if a crew member could grab our phone and snap at least one pic of each group when we hop in the water. Just a thought!

We did this yesterday morning and it was exactly as advertised and absolutely wonderful. The staff did everything they could to make sure we had a great time and there were several different snorkeling opportunities over the course of the morning. We had a light breakfast and lunch in addition to snorkeling. We were tired by the end and so I think the duration of time was perfect.

Couldn’t have asked for better guides or a better experience. Book with this group for sure best of all the snorkel tours. Even the food was really good well worth the price of the tour.

Molokini has the most coral that I have ever seen in my life. The boat crew was fantastic and I would absolutely go with this company again.
The only warning I would give is that the water can be a bit choppy so if you are prone to sea sickness then this excursion is not for you. If you think you’ll be ok though, then this is a must do activity in Maui.

So much fun!!! Crew was great and very helpful. Swam with giant sea turtles and saw tons of marine life including eels and octopi. Well worth it!

Absolutely amazing trip. Chase, Allie and Nick were a great crew! They were very knowledgeable about the history and geology of the surroundings, and all were beyond helpful and fun to spend time with. Chase was a fantastic captain, he ensured everyone’s safety while mixing in some fun and adventure. Allie and Nick were also mindful of keeping everyone safe while maintaining a lighthearted and pleasant vibe. This excursion was hands down the highlight of our Maui vacation and we will be bringing our kids back to do it again!

Do you have to be a strong swimmer to join this tour? is this tour okay for beginners? I like that they go to 4 different locations. Out of 4 locations, which has the roughest wave?
We're 2 adults and 1 teen, can swim but never snorkel. Plan to learn snorkeling before the trip.

I’m 72 and I went. I’m comfortable in the water, a good swimmer but nit strong. Way easier to snorkel from
This boat than battle the waves and handle your gear from the beach.

I see the itinerary shows #2 as the starting point. So the raft boat will not go to Turtle town directly Molokini?

The itinerary on TripAdvisor isn't the correct one. you can see details on the provider's website. Go to redlinerafting website & select "five-hour-molokini-and-south-maui-snorkel". You can see stops either in the "details" sections or the map that shows stops with photos.
Here is what the details section says -
(1) Be one of the first boats in the morning to snorkel Molokini Crater where visibility often exceeds 180ft.
(2) Snorkel the back wall of Molokini, a place very few visitors ever get to see.
(3) Stop at La Perouse Bay to search for the Hawaiian spinner dolphins that call the bay home.
(4) We conclude our tour with an up close and personal encounter in the water with the protected Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle.
So to answer your question, Turtle town is the last stop. I did this tour in March 2022 & can attest that the website description is accurate. Have fun!! This operator is one of the best on the island.

Hi, what is the fee for a five year old child to go with us? Is he even able to come with us? And if our 9 year old wants to go but not snorkel is it still $204? Thank you!

I think there might be reduced rate for 5 year old. There are fast rafts and there are also bigger boats, so you may have to see what might be best for your family. There is red raft , and blue raft, and few big boats.

They had flotation belts. I used one and found it very helpful. The guides were not in the water with us. Perhaps one of them could go in with you. They were very "watchful" of our group and helpful getting in and out of boat.

The tour that we took was for snorkeling only because we are watching season did not start until January 15. However on our way out to the snorkeling adventure, we spotted a couple Wales. But this was actually not the whale watching trip, they do have a whale watching trip which was approximately the same cost.

Hello,
I’m planning a trip for my husbands 40th-first time for him in Hawaii and he wants to go snorkeling or snuba. He is athletic, swims, hand cycle bike, lift weights, but is paraplegic. Do you recommend certain times or excursion packages?

I agree with Nate above. I would call some dive shops directly on the island(s) you plan to visit. I'm sure that some accommodations could be made for your husband. I found some good info when I googled "paraplegic snorkeling on Maui ". TA won't allow me to attach links.
