Brilliant experience and our guide Tinashe was awesome. There was a lot of time on the road but it was worth it. First day travelling from Windhoek to Etosha, lunch was prepared for us to eat on route and was more than adequate. We arrived to see Lions, Giraffe, Xebra and so much more. We staying a night in the park in lovely rooms and the waterhole here allowed us to see both Rhino and Elephants. We had an early start after breakfast and saw Rhino again and a Cheetah! We left the park around 3pm and stayed a very short distance away in the amazing Etosha Village. Another early start with a few unexpected problems with the tour bus which our Guide Tinashe handled expertly. Having changed transport we were on our way. We were late arriving at the Himba village due to the earlier issue but it was a great experience regardless. A flat tyre needed to be changed which delayed us further and we arrived in Swakoplund around 11pm, 5hrs later than expected, Tinashe didn’t rest until he found somewhere to feed his hungry travellers.. in the morning after a lovely sleep I left the tour to return back to Windhoek for my flight home, via Walvis Bay and Dune 7 with a different guide who was just as professional and accomdating as Tinashe (really sorry I forget his name). I was well looked after from start to finish by a very professional outfit and whilst there was a lot of time on the road I would not hesitate to recommend this company for all your needs.

It is really heartening to hear that despite a couple of glitches you still had such a good trip. Thank you for taking the time to provide such an in depth review. We hope that if you return to Namibia, you might have a little more time to see more of the country.

I booked this safari after volunteering two weeks in Namibia. My expectations were blown away. The guides know so much about Namibia’s culture, history, tribes and of course animals. Our guide Tulim was professional and worked hard to ensure we all had a great experience. He spotted animals that most of us could not see and was a great cook, easily accommodating my vegetarian diet. Upon returning to Windhoek my guide Tinashe was just as wonderful and was a wealth of knowledge. 5 stars from beginning to end.

Brilliant guide who was very knowledgeable. Tnashi you are brilliant guide and cook. Seen all animals. Accommodation was excellent. When visiting the local tribes would recommend to purchase at the first or second stop. The third are very aggressive sales people!

My wife and I booked this adventure 3 months in advance as part of our first visit to Namibia. We found the experience very rewarding and it met our expectations. Gideon, our guide, is very experienced, knowledgeable, friendly and charismatic, and always concerned for the tourists and wildlife safety. All the accommodations were very pleasant, with excellent breakfast and dinner buffets, especially the second night at Taleni Etosha Village. Lunches on the road prepared by our guide were good and the provider caters to specific dietary requirements. The highlight was to see such variety of wild animals interacting in their natural environment. Very interesting visits to local communities like the Herero, Himba and Damara. We enjoyed the drive to Skeleton Coast trough an amazing desert landscape, as well as the visit to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. A friendly young driver, Tinashe, took us back safely to Windhoek.

I was on the 4 day Etosha and Swakopmund tour. Absolutely fantastic, from beginning to end. The days are long and the drives on the poorly maintained gravel roads leave you aching (often 10-12 hours+ spent in the vehicle daily) but the views were well worth it. My guides Alvin and Tinashe were absolutely fantastic, going out of their way to make sure everything was comfortable for us, and that we could see as many animals as possible. Their knowledge is second to none and there didn’t seem like there was a question they didn’t know the answer to. I really liked that they took on more than just a ‘guide’ role - they treated us like friends, joined us for dinner and joined us at the bar in the evenings, despite working extremely hard throughout the day. The tour was great, but the guides we had made it something to remember - a really special trip I will remember for ever. I hope Tinashe enjoys my binoculars!

Our group of four was picked up by our guide, Daniel, on the way to Etosha National Park. Thirteen strangers spent the next four days on safari. Each day was better than the next. We saw lots and lots of animals. Daniel was a very knowledgeable and fun guide. Let us spend as much time as we wanted taking photos and watching elephants, zebras, giraffes, springbok, oryx, red hartebeest, lions, black rhinos, ostriches, impala, and a large variety of beautiful birds. Food was great and the accommodations were even better. The drive through the Namib desert and onto the Skeleton Coast was educational as Daniel described the way of life of the Himba and Herero people. We had time to stop and purchase necklaces, bracelets, polished rocks, etc. By the time we arrived at the coast, we had all formed the most amazing bonds and knew we would have to stay in touch. In Swakopmund, we all had dinner at the Jetty 1905 Restaurant, right over the Atlantic Ocean. The next morning, it was hard to say goodbye as some were continuing two more days and the rest were returning to Windhoek. We could not have chosen a better company than Chameleon Safaris. A huge Thank You to Daniel!

I really cannot recommend this company enough.
From the initial enquiry, their pre-arrival communication and throughout the tour they exceeded expectations.
As a group of four, we all enjoyed every minute of the four days that we spent with Chameleon. Our guide, Daniel, together with the driver Tulemo, did everything that they could to ensure that we had a magical time - nothing was too much. They both worked incredibly hard and not only imparted a tremendous amount of knowledge about Namibia, the wildlife, the history of places visited, etc., but also prepared us delicious meals - including making sure that the vegetarian in our party was well fed too.
The accommodation provided was fantastic - a comfortable lodge close by Halali waterhole (we were lucky enough to see a rhino drop by for his evening drink), a fabulous room at Etosha Village with a resident Kudu popping by to say "hello", and an interesting boutique hotel in Swakopmund.
There is a lot of travelling however, with well planned stops to see local attractions, the days are well organised and provide plenty of interest. It is quite tough when the day involves long periods travelling along corrugated roads (I would recommend a sports bra it can get very bumpy :-) ) but that's part of the experience.
Overall, it was a fantastic part of our holiday and I hope to return to Namibia and do a more extended tour with these guys.
