Top Korea Tours Exceeds Expectations

In short, Top Korea Tours far exceeded my expectations with their flexibility, knowledge (researching before and even during our tour to make sure that the information/food/shopping was spot-on), care for each individual’s needs and interests, timeliness, communication skills, and enthusiasm. Make sure your trip to Korea is easy, enjoyable, and entertaining; let Top Korea Tours be your guide!

If you are a history buff, foodie, urbanophile, shopper, or just like to learn new things and live in the moment, visit Seoul with Top Korea Tours as your guide. As your typical midwestern American, I had no idea what to expect on my trip to Asia, to Seoul. In four glorious days, Juno (our guide) taught us about ancient and modern Korean history (palaces, temples, and the rise of the 10th largest economy in just 70 years!); took us all over the city to the various markets, to Michelin starred restaurants and street food stalls, and even to an amusement park! (Because who doesn’t love to hear about how a leader got busted for spending too much time on the golf course, so he turned it into a children’s park and zoo!). All the while we’re riding in a comfortable car/bus, listening to Juno tell self-deprecating tales of Korean culture. (I’m still laughing about the typical Korean university experience: drink, ask girl out, get rejected, repeat). Juno is so knowledgeable and clearly excited to share his world. Often times questions would lead to a change in itinerary on the fly. Juno always proposed what he was thinking and let us decide if we wanted to make the change. It was conversational, interactive, fascinating and fun! Top Korea Tours created an experience that gave me a well-rounded view of Seoul and the DMZ. I absolutely WILL go back so Top Korea Tours can show me the rest of the country!

A powerful experience that will make you proud to be Korean.

If you are Korean American, Juno and Amy are the ones that you want for your experience in Korea. While Korean natives, they each have lived abroad (US and Australia, respectively) so they have seen first hand the differences in culture and lifestyle when compared to Korea. And this is why I think our experience was so powerful. Seeing the historical sites is one thing. To have someone explain the historical context and its relevance to the development of modern Korea is priceless. The explanation of the roots of modern Korean culture connected me to the way I was raised by first generation immigrants in the US. To understand the similarities and differences was powerful and motivating. Juno said that being a tour guide is easy because "I love Korea, and it's a good product to sell." I certainly agree about the product, but his enthusiasm, flexibility, and preparation for our custom tour was far beyond what I would expect. Prior to leaving, we gave him initial thoughts on what we wanted to see and learn. But as the tour progressed, we changed our itinerary on the fly as we found ourselves wanting to deep-dive in different aspects of ancient and modern history. And Juno made it happen flawlessly. It wasn't a trip of a lifetime, it was an experience of a lifetime.

Best of the Best

If I could give Top Korea 10 stars, I would. From the early planning days to drop off at the airport, Top Korea's services were impeccable. Amy responded to our initial inquiry immediately and continued to respond within 24 hours with all of the adjustments we wanted to make to our itinerary. We planned 3 days of tours for 12 of us with Juno and added a 4th day while we were there because it was so enjoyable. Each day we added more family members and by the end, we had 18 members ranging from 3 years old to 86 years old. Juno was attentive with each and every one of us. He was not just a guide but a history teacher. His enthuisasm for teaching us about Seoul and Korea and helping us connect our own family history was so incredibly special. We can't wait to go back. Thank you so much, Juno and Amy, for making this the trip of a lifetime.

Our family of 7 total people including 2 children (ages 10 and 13) did multiple private tours with Top Korea tour (Seoul, Suwon and Busan). Miae and Juno were both amazing tour guides and enhanced our experience in each of those cities. They provided insightful historical and contemporary perspectives. They were always ready with the best food/restaurant recommendations and called ahead to make sure that space was available.

They know the cities so well and it made touring/navigating stress free. We were able to see so many things every day and there is no way we would have been able to cover as much without their expertise. The private van/driving they provided are well worth the cost of the tours alone.

I cannot express how grateful we are to them for such an awesome experience.

I would highly recommend them to anyone. Value added and worth every penny.

Helpful guide who cares. This is a good tour company.
We were on a one day city tour with TopKorea, a family group of 8. On the scheduled day, it was raining. Juno, our guide, suggested we moved the tour to the next day if we did not have other plans. This was a thoughtful suggestion and we gladly accepted it. The next day, we started early and Juno was great, explaining the history of Korea and pointing out highlights of each place, making sure we had photos taken at the right spots etc. Lunch was at a kalguksu restaurant he brought us to, and we enjoyed this Korean specialty. What topped the experience was Juno’s caring attitude and helpfulness. The last item on our itinerary was a cable car ride up to Namsan Tower. As we were walking along the path towards the Tower, I suddenly felt giddy, a vertigo attack. Juno quietly left the group, and came back with a wheelchair. He helped us get on the next cable car going down, and brought us back to the hotel, making sure I was alright and informing us of who to call and what to do should I feel worse before he left. Fortunately, I recovered after an hour’s rest and medication. He text me later to check that I was okay.
I think this fine young man deserves an applause.

This tour was awesome. communication with our tour guide, Miae, was great. We ended up being the only two on this all day tour. We loved our guide, we were driven around in a very nice minivan. We only had one full day to spend and this was perfect!!

Seoul and DMZ Tour

Our family of 6 recently visited South Korea and were so happy to find Top Korea Tours! Amy handled all the arrangements and was very helpful. She was flexible with any changes and made the booking process easy. Her communication was excellent and prompt!

Juno was our guide for two days, and he was wonderful!! We very highly recommend him. He was punctual, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and funny! He took great care in explaining Korean culture and history and made sure we all understood what we were seeing. He was a great photographer ensuring we took many family photos of our visit. We had a fun lunch at a restaurant that he suggested. We would not hesitate to recommend Top Korea tours and would use them again for any future touring needs.

Memorable tour in Seoul
We only had 1.5 days in Seoul and wanted to visit major historical and traditional sites. Juno was our guide. He explained Korea's history, culture and food in detail. We saw palaces, shrines and a food market. He also took us to a wonderful restaurant where we had delicious Korean food for lunch. As first time visitors to Seoul, I am so glad we signed up with this company and got tons of information about the culture, society and history of Korea through Juno. Job well done!

Amazing experience!

Our group of 4 absolutely loved the experience provided by Miae! She picked us up and dropped us off at our Airbnb, and gave us a great introduction to Seoul on our first full day in South Korea. She answered all our questions knowledgeably and even helped us find, buy, and load BTS T-money cards! For lunch, we asked her to take us to one of her favorite local restaurants that tourists might not know about, and it was amazing - one of the best meals we had in Korea. She also guided us to the best sundae (blood sausage) in Gwangjang Market. We covered all the major tourist spots in central Seoul, and we probably took up more of her time than we should have. But it was a perfect way to get introduced and situated for the rest of our vacation in Seoul. Thank you, Miae!

Knowledgeable and fun guides!

Having never been to Seoul we wanted to get our bearings shortly after we arrived, and this tour definitely delivered. Miae picked us up right outside our AirBnB and took us to all the high points of central Seoul. She explained not only about the neighborhoods and landmarks, but about life in the city and greater country. Highly recommended! We liked this so much we also took the Day Trip to Korean Folk Village and Hwaseong Fortress with Top Korea.
