We had 13 hrs layover in the Beijing and did the great wall and forbidden city tour. Herbie was our guide for the day and he made sure we had an amazing experience.
The entire tour was well organized and timed. Herbie was very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited. He took really good pictures for us, apart from being an amazing guide, he is a really good photographer!!
Herbie also sure we had good food for lunch even though we are vegetarian. Overall it was an amazing experience and highly recommended.

In a short amount of time we were able to see the great Wall (must go down the slide), the forbidden city, Tiananmen Square, and try a quick authentic bite of food! Herbie was very kind, and always making sure we got in some photos to keep our memories! He gave us overviews of history and a great way to use up our layover time !

Before booking the trip I read many reviews as to who I should book. Herbie was the only tour guide that kept continuously coming up. So I ended up requesting him... BEST DECISION EVER!
He made our 14 layover in Beijing one of the best parts of our entire trip. His knowledge and his photo skills take this tour to the next level. He was very attentive and made sure we were well accommodated at all times. If we ever go back, we would book Herbie.

We had a 12 hour layover on our way to Phuket and I had a friend named Phil Calvert, telling me about the amazing layover tours you can do in China. I read up about this one and no wonder why it has 5 stars. Lisa did a great job taking us to the best photo op spot for the wall and she was present but also gave us space to marvel at the wall ourselves and take photos. She was patient throughout the trip and she provided a great history lesson not only on the Wall, but China in itself. The Forbidden City was extremely cool as well and she will give you a brief history lesson walking through Tiananmen Square on your way to the wall. The food at the Wall is average, but their hot tea is top notch! Definitely grab Starbucks where you will meet Lisa,

Saddled with a 10+ hour layover in Beijing, Istarted researching different tour options and realized with relief that the aptly named Beijing Layover Tour specializes in these tours. This was an amazing tour, thanks in no small part to the wonderful tour guide Alice Ji, and well supported by the travel advisor, Daniel Yan.
Based on the time allowed, there were two options presented... Great Wall or the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. We opted for latter. We were glad we did, but it was cutting it slightly close because of the delayed flight arrival. All worked out well, and Alice expertly planned and coordinated the events so we made our connecting flight.
I can't gush about the service and organization provided by Beijing Layover Tour enough. It was exactly as advertised, Alice was a weatlh of knowledge and took amazing pictures and did everthing within our timeline. For what was provided, it seemed very reasonable as well pricewise. No hidden fees, what was quoted was what we paids (plus a well deserved tip).
Great experience all in all, and one that I can whole heartedly recommend.
Note: Pimp coat helpfully provided by the driver as I did not pack for the Beijing Winter.

Alice was our guide and was wonderful. She was informative, kind, thoughtful and welcoming. We were first at the Wall and there was no one there, it was wonderful! She new just where the best photo ops were everywhere we went. She also took pictures on her phone and later emailed them to me. My husband and I felt completely taken care of and loved every min. of our time with Alice during our 15 hour layover. The car was clean and well kept, there was water for us and the driver was fabulous. It was a memorable day! Best way to spend your long layover in Beijing!

This tour was worth every penny! My teenage son and I had a great experience on this layover tour, from the moment we made our booking with Dan to the moment we met our tour guide Sandy and our driver Mr. Fung at our hotel. Everything went smoothly, and exactly how it was planned. We were worried about making it back to the airport on time for our flight but that was not a problem at all. Very informative trip, Sandy was really awesome at explaining everything (in fluent English). The ride was comfortable and we even had time to grab a bite despite the very tight schedule we opted for (just make sure to take the chairlift up to the Great Wall, it’s an additional CNY120/ person that will save you some time and energy). Amazing experience, highly recommend this tour!!!

Hi Ken,
According to your arrival time, if you cannot meet our guide at 7am. We will go with our tour. To make sure that you will not lose your money and have time take the tour, we recommend you to book our another group tour (9am-5pm). We will transfer you back to airport at 5pm. You will have plenty of time to catch your next flight. Since you do not need recheck in the flight and luggage. You would already have the boarding card for the flight depart at 19:45.

Hello Sir,
Yes, you will have enough time to do this tour. We will transfer you back to airport at 3pm. That is enough to catch your flight, because you do not check-in the flight again in Beijing. You will have the boarding card for the next flight before you landing Beijing.
Hi, my husband and I land at 5am on March 16the and fly out at 3:20pm the same day. We would love to partake in your tour, but fear 20 min is not enough time between the end of our tour and our flight time. Could we possibly spend less time at one or both locations to get back to the airport by 2-230?

What would you like to know about this attraction? How many packages you have? What are the tours?
I plan to have a layover in beijin from US to Japan in march arriving Friday mar15 leaving mar 17 both in the afternoon, can someone from this tour pick me up and arrange a cheap hotel as well as find me a suitable tour for 2 days? I will also be having a layover going back to US from Japan in Beijing. Any suggestion where else to go? Also I want to make sure I am within 72 hr transit visa free.

Not sure if they can arrange a cheap hotel for you but you can try. In their website they have a variety of itineraries to choose from. Great Wall of China, Forbidden City and Summer Palace is highly recommended. Hutong area is also a must see, to get a glimpse of how living in Beijing is in the old days (if you're into that) Don't leave Beijing without trying Peking duck and tea (hot or cold), you can ask your tour guide for that. They will take you to a good restaurant. Be sure to understand the instructions on how to get off the airport and on how to get to the transit visa desk. Ask as much as you can if the instructions are not clear to you. But they should send you a thorough how-to-guide for that. The airport staff are helpful too, I printed out my itinerary just to be sure and showed it to them everytime I wasn't sure if I was heading to the right direction. Goodluck.
