My long time friends and me travel to Tibet in June 2019 from Kathmandu to Kyirong Port, then travel to Tingri, Shigatse, Gyangtse before reaching Lhasa. The whole journey was amazing and wonderful. We were served by the local tour guide Miss Migmar from Explore Tibet. She was professional and well verse of the places of interest in Tibet. Our itinerary, food and accomodation was well organised by Migma.
Also, during our Journey, one of our friends fall sick due to high altitude, Migmar accompanied him to the local Hospital and took care of him throughout the whole journey. Her kind assistances and services throughout the whole journey is deeply appreciated. We will definitely engage Explore Tibet again for our next trip.

We had an amazing time in Lhasa! All was prepared and organised so nicely and with good and reliable communication by Tenzin! We also enjoyed very much the very enjoyable and competent tour guide Grace! She brought culture and the colours of Lhasa near and in a very rich way to us!! I highly recommend Tibet Travelers! It was a great and wonderful time in all aspects!! Best wishes to the whole company!!

Tibet Travellers hire freelance tour guides and drivers for individual trips, but they seem to have a list of trusted contacts who do a really good job. We had two guides and both were excellent. The first, Jamyang, was for the second day in Lhasa and the second, Tsering Gyalpo, for the remaining days of the trip to Everest Base Camp and back. Both spoke fluent English, Chinese and, of course, Tibetan, and were extremely knowledgeable, not just about the places we visited, but about all aspects of Tibetan history and culture. They were also "culturally fluent", i.e., very familiar and comfortable with both Western and Chinese culture, so communicating with them was never a problem. We certainly learned a lot, and they took very good care of us wherever we went, always making sure we had enough food, water, toilet breaks, etc., and telling us what to do to make things go smoothly at the various check points one (inevitably) encounters while traveling through Tibet. Our driver, Choenphel Tsering, though "only" fluent in Tibetan (and some Chinese), was extremely friendly and patient and, also, a very skillful and safe driver! Our contact with the agency, Tenzin Dhondup, met us in Lhasa on the first day of the trip and told us exactly what to expect, then met us again on the last day to check that everything had gone smoothly (it had). He was also on hand via WeChat / telephone call at all times, so we never had any problems on the road. Even before we arrived at Lhasa, he helped us apply for (various) permits for one of us as a non-Chinese to get into the city and beyond, and another as a Hong Kong Chinese to go beyond Lhasa (different permits and procedure required for Chinese and non-Chinese!), and also provided us with advice on how to get tickets of the popular Qinhgai-Tibet train in addition to the many questions we asked. He generally responded to our questions very quickly and precisely. We thoroughly recommend Tibet Travellers, for all tourists from around the world, including mandarin or English speakers from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan (our group was mixed, European and Hong Kong). We also thoroughly recommend Jamyang and Tsering Gyalpo as guides and Choenphel Tsering as a patient, friendly (and safe) driver.

We went on the 10 day private tour from Lhasa to Ganden and Mt Everest to Nepal – in short, our journey was amazing! Arriving in Lhasa by train on 7 April, we were greeted by our guide Dolma and driver Phuntsok. Dolma is super energetic, friendly, and as a genuine Tibetan has great knowledge about Tibetan culture and history, and always took good care of us. Phuntsok drove safely, and with his limited english we still felt like we got to know him. Dolma adjusted the original itenerary to suit our needs the best, and to show us some great things she cared about. Dolma and Phuntsok were also helpful when one of us got sick, and we had to stay an extra night in New Tingri.
Travelling with a local guide like Dolma, you will be lucky enough to meet and communicate with munks, nuns, and locals, since Dolma knows a lot of them, which makes for a unique experience. We saw a lot of monestaries, mountains and met with local people. We were lucky too see Mt Everest with a clear view, and that was a very rewarding day with camping in a tent a few kilometers from the base camp. Initially, this tour may seem like a highlight of touristic places, however it is not – except from the Potala, we were rubbing shoulders with pilegrims and locals alike all the way to the Nepal border!
Tenzin helped us all the way to Tibet by answering our every question via email, and we had a great meal with him upon our arrival. In essence, to get a feel of what Tibet is really all about do NOT go with a chinese tour company, go with Tibet Travelers!

Since getting a visa to visit Tibet is complicated Tibet Travelers was most helpful in helping me get the correct visa and planning a great trip. Ongoing communication with Tenzin was great. The hotel I stayed in was comfortable, clean and had a great restaurant for breakfast and dinner if I stayed in. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Tibet and the development of Buddhism in Tibet throughout the centuries. I greatly appreciated the stories and the silence as we walked around the temples with the pilgrims. The trip exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this tour group to anyone.

This was the very first trip to Tibet, which has been a dream for past 10 years for us. We were recommended by one of our friend to organize this jorney to Tibet through agency called "Tibet Travelers" by Tenzin Dhondup. Before we came here, he fully described all the information about packages, prices and documents, which was exceedingly helpful for us. So we choose a guided tour in winter time, arranged by very informative person named by Tenzin. He and his driver have met us at the airport and presented us a white 'khata'( a greeting scarf) as welcome and wish of happiness. It was quite impressive...
So firstly we enjoyed 3 days in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, by visiting the most beautiful sightseeing such as Jokhang Temple (the most sacred and important in Tibet), Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and winter Palace of the Dalai Lama (Potala Palace which we liked the most). A big thanks to Tenzin that he showed us the best dining places. Also he patiently answered to all endless questions we had, separate thank you for that.
On 4 day we moved to Shigatze town, on the way to we enjoyed one of the largest lakes in Tibet (Yamdrok lake), we crossed some high altittude passes such as Kampa-la(5050) and Karo-la(5045) also we viewed a glorious glacier.
On this day we should thanks Tenzin for introducing us to Tibetian cuisine. Yaks Momo I will never ever forget in my life.
On day 5 we've planned to drive to Sakya monastery and it was the very first time to see Mt. Everest, but becouse of heavy snow that day we were not able to see it. But our driver and guide did not gave up, so we moved further.
On day 6 it was the most plesant and enjoyable since we have seen the view of 4 mountains above 8000 m 'plus', such as Mt. Everest(8848), Mt.Lhotse(8516), Mt.Cho-Oyo (8201) and Mt. Makalu (8463). Also we have expirieced the highest monastery in the world named Rangbuk. In this part I should say that Tenzin is a great example of person who is very kind, love and compassion, which is the main postulates of buddist religion.
The other days have been very fascinating as well, but I dont want to make this review very complicated.
So to summarize our unforgettable backpacking to Tibet we would have to say that Tibet and Tibetans are very unique in this world. We have never seen such a warm smiles and attitude such from them.
One more time thank you Tenzin and hope to see you again either in Tibet, Ukraine or other countries in the world.
We wish you happy journeys, dear travelers, journey which have sense. Only when you meet people, immerce yourself in culture, learn history and observe nowadays life of the country, in which you travel, your journey became meaningful. Sergii and Lesia

My friend and I booked a private tour with Tibet Travelers for November, last month of the low tourist season in Tibet. I did quite a bit of searching before going with Tibet Travelers. I specifically wanted to support a true Tibetan travel agency, and this company came highly recommended. Tenzin Dhundop was great. He was very responsive to my many email questions and very patient as I customized and changed the itinerary several times. The Tibet permits were sent to my hotel in Chengdu since I was there visiting the giant pandas. My friend's connecting flight was delayed so we had to rebook our Lhasa flight and stay another night in Chengdu. I also had trouble getting through security since I had two passports (the Tibet permit used the expired passport where I had my 10-year Chinese visa which didn’t match my current passport) but I called Tenzin and he explained in Chinese to the security officers to let me through. Our guide Dolma greeted us at the airport with a white peace scarf for each of us. She told us that we can write our names/wishes on the scarves and leave it at Everest Base Camp for good luck and blessings among the prayer flags and scarves there, which we did. Tenzin met us at House of Shambhala, a colorful traditional Tibetan hotel, and treated us to a welcome lunch (soup noodles with yak meat) with the best homemade masala tea we’ve ever tasted (we tried others later and they didn’t compare). Since we came a day later we had to adjust our itinerary and since most of the tour were monasteries we cut down a couple to ensure time to get to our main destination - north EBC and Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world. After exploring the main attractions of Lhasa (Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Dalai Lama’s summer palace, Barkhor Street, Sera Monastery and monk debate), we headed out to Shigatse via Karola glacier and pass, Yamdrok Lake, and Samding Monastery). Before reaching the north face Everest Base Camp we visited Sakya Monastery and there, we were fortunate and honored to have a monk serve us yak butter tea. The only other tourists there were Tibetans visiting for religious reasons. We went up this really high pass to view Everest and visited a rural Tibetan home. The family gave us tea and showed us around their house. We gave them some gifts we brought including T shirts, children's activity books, food and candy. We got to EBC in time for a sunset picture - it was beautiful and majestic, and also super windy and freezing cold! Dolma arranged electric blankets for us so we were toasty warm at night. The next morning we saw sunrise from Rongbuk Monastery (sunset was more spectacular) and said goodbye to EBC. We drove for nearly 2 hours on a dirt road to Old Tingri (all other roads have been nicely paved up to that point), had lunch, then to the border town Gyirong for the night. Our trip ended when we drove to the border control where we were handed off to the Nepali side to get our Jeep for the 7 hour drive to Kathmandu for our next adventure, a 14 day trek to EBC from Nepal. Tenzin arranged a private jeep for us and checked in via WeChat to make sure we arrived safely in Kathmandu. Our Tibet trip was truly special and memorable. Tibet Travelers and our nice, knowledgeable guide Dolma (another Dolma joined us later to pick up another group so we had two female guides) and safe driver Sonam were awesome! I highly recommend Tibet Travelers! Thanks to Tenzin, we left with gifts of Tibetan singing bowls, cymbals and tea. Also thanks to Dolma for taking us shopping for real thangka paintings and Buddhas. These souvenirs, among our many pictures and memories, will remind us of the wonderful experience we had in Tibet. It's a blessing and privilege to be able to take this amazing trip to such an amazing place! Thu-je-che (thank you)!

Erst mal ein Großes Danke schön an die Tibet Travelers sind super organisiert. Der meiste Dank geht an den Tenzin er hat alles perfekt organisiert und war immer da wenn man fragen hatten oder wünsche. Tibet Visum organisiert eine tolle Begrüßung am Bahnhof usw… Alles in Englisch super Guide in Tibet. Würde ihn auch noch ein Zusatz Stern geben wenn es gehen würde!!!
Diese 4-tägige Stadtrundfahrt von Lhasa ist ideal für diejenigen, die ein kleineres Budget haben, aber trotzdem eine qualitativ hochwertige Tour durch Tibet sich wünschen. Das Hotel was gebucht war sehr Sauber und gute Betten mit Frühstück.
Darüber hinaus hilft Ihnen Ihr Englischsprachiger tibetischer Guide, mehr über die einzigartige Kultur und Religion Tibets zu erfahren. Er konnte jeder Zeit alle unsere Frage beantworten. Hatte super tolle Tage in Lhasa. Kann die Tibet Travelers Empfehlen!!!

We signed up our tibet tour with Tenzin and everything went smoothly. Communication with Tenzin was swift and pleasant, he was very responsive and flexible in accommodating our requests. He assigned a lady tour guide for us as we have 3 ladies in the trip, a very thoughtful arrangement from Tenzin. I can’t speak highly enough for Dolma, our tour guide throughout the journey, she took good care of us, shared many jokes and stories with us. Our driver ‘Sri’ too, with good skills, he drove us up the high pass, to ebc and get us safely back to Lhasa. It’s great to get to know the locals who are so sincere and geniune in making sure we have a good experience in Tibet. We celebrated our friend’s birthday in Tibet, Dolma bought us the birthday cake, we had a great evening full of laughter with Dolma’s hilarious jokes and stories. She is so full of energy, witty with easy-going personality. Tenzin is warm, friendly and kind-hearted, he brought us to shop around Lhasa, even posing as our model when trying out tibetan clothes 😁, bought us souvenirs and treated us good meals. The service is top-notch and from the bottom our heart, thank you Tenzin & Dolma. We highly recommend Tibet Travelers, for the local touch and wonderful Tibetan hospitality.

Die Organisation und vor allem die Kommunikation und Planung mit Tibetanguide Denzin Dhondup war ausgezeichnet. Jeder E-Mail war innerhalb von Minuten beantwortet; Preise und Zahlung waren vorher klarstellen, die aktuelle Reise diskutiert und organisiert. Der Führer sowie den Fahrer, sowohl lokale Tibeter, waren ein tolles Team und bestens vorbereitet für die Bereiche wir uns die Stadt angesehen haben. Beide sind sehr freundlich, immer pünktlich und sehr kommunikativ.
Der Führer exzellent Englisch sprach und Wissen über lokale Traditionen und Kultur
kann ich nur empfehlen Tibetanguide!
Das Hotel das gebucht wurde war sehr schön 4 Sterne sehr Sauber und Zentrum nahe.
Alles bestens Organisiert und auch zu einen sehr guten Preis.
Der Führer exzellent Englisch sprach und Wissen über lokale Traditionen und Kultur
