We would highly recommend booking with these guys. From the very first enquiry email, Ramiro was helpful and quick at responding. Our actual guide for the tour, Miguel, was simply the best. From Cusco you'll have lots of people trying to sell you tours, but definitely organise a private tour for a fraction more. It is so worth it to have them organise all aspects for you and completely tailor the tour to your interests and ideas. Ramiro even came to our hotel in Cusco the night before the trip to talk us through everything, it's these little touches that mean everything. You take an overnight bag with you and leave your main luggage in your Cusco hotel. I forgot something in the car and the driver, Oscar, kindly dropped it back to the Cusco hotel so it was ready for me. We learnt lots of facts about the interesting history, but it was also fun and relaxed. Miguel had a great sense of humor and we watched some World Cup matches together. I should also mention Machu Picchu is stunning. If you feel fit enough, definitely add on the optional Huayna Picchu climb.

Ramiro Miguel and Waldo were absolutely amazing! They cater to all our needs easily, we were a very large group with many different tastes and personalities. They made sure that we were taking care of and safe. From the moment they picked us up to the moment they dropped us off. We also added the rainbow mountains to our tour. Extremely difficult cuz of the altitude but they provided the necessary equipment and advise for us to be able to do it. Thank u so much! Can’t wait to share my experience with everyone

Machu Picchu tour was incredible and truly a life changing experience!! Miguel and Waldo were the sweetest and so attentive to our group! Miguel took the time to thoroughly explain all info and was so kind to ensure we were all ok throughout each tour. Greatly appreciated having Miguel as our tour guide and highly recommend!!!

I've been traveling a lot throughout the world and have been using the help of different travel agencies and companies. This time working with Ramiro was probably the easiest and most pleasant experience I've ever had.
The communication was arranged through whatsapp and email. Very quick responses, good advises on our itinerary easy way to pay with the credit card or a PayPal.
The day before our tour has started Ramiro came to our hotel. Brought all tickets which we will need in next 3 days, walked us through the schedule and answered all questions we had prior the tour.
Starting from the next day we were in a good hands of guide Miguel and the driver Waldo. But are very professional, kind, helpful and entertaining.
Overall I'm very thankful for Machu Picchu Explorer team for their amazing job.

Our trip to Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain was, to put it briefly, life-changing. The actual sights of the ruins, the hike to Wayna Picchu, and the intense hike to the top of rainbow mountain were some of the most challenging, memorable experiences of my life. The food was great, the rides were smooths, the company even better! We have our incredible organizer, guide, and driver-Ramiro, Miguel Ángel, and Waldo- to thank for this experience. We are so grateful to them all for creating a truly one-of-a-kind journey that was seamless from start to finish. We know this couldn’t have happened without impeccable planning and effort on their part and we are so thankful to them! Highly recommend!!!

Amazing 1 day tour - everything was taken care of from the check in and orientation the night prior to the early morning hotel pick up to the transfers from the train right up to the site and back to our hotel.
Our guide Hiram met us off the train in Aguas Calientes and he was wonderful!! We learned so much in our 3 hours with him - not only about Machu Picchu but also about the history of Peru and it’s people. Worth every single penny and highly recommend.

We recently did a 2-day tour with Machu Picchu explorer with my family, that included 2 teenagers and 2 elderly parents. They picked us from Cusco, planned the whole itinerary through Sacred Valley-Aquas Calintes-Machu Picchu. They made all the bookings and also provided a tour guide. Ramiro is the point person in Cusco. He showed up at our hotel the evening before the tour with our tickets and to answer all questions. He was also there to receive us once we returned.
The guide, Ricardo, was amazing. So patient and always willing to adapt to the tour to our group. Answering a ton of questions from all of us very patiently.
The only advice I would give is to make sure you communicate any special needs to them in advance. In retrospect, I should have informed them that my mother is not able to walk long distances and needs help at train station, but thats not on them. Its just an advice for other travelers so you can tailor your request. The tour company is very flexible to match your needs.

I discussed my requirements and interests on the places in Sacred valley with Ramiro and he prepared the plan accordingly. He booked all the necessary tickets / transportation to Machu Picchu and sent me the details.
He received me at the airport and we started the trip of the Sacred valley and Machu Picchu as planned. We were able to do the tour at our own pace. The vehicle was comfortable. Will certainly recommend Ramiro and his team ( Machu Picchu Explorer Tour) to anyone visiting Machu Picchu.

My friends and family have used this tour a number of times and they are truly excellent. It is owned by a local Cusco family and they take pride in their service. The age and ability range of my family and friends varied between strong hikers, young children and elderly visitors. However on each of the four occasions that we used this company, they made adjustments that reflected our interests and abilities. They think ahead about logistics and bookings and all the boring admin stuff every step of the way. I can't recommend this company enough if you want a thoughtful experience.

We booked tour of Cusco and Machu Picchu through Ramiro from Machu Picchu Explorer and respond through email was quick. Ramiro and a driver picked us from airport on arrival as well as dropped us off on our last day. Both Ramiro and Fredy, our guide for both day, speaks very good English.
Fredy is very knowledgeable and told us amazing history of every place we visited. He did the tours on our pace, and showed us all the main sights, and even a “hidden” spot at Machu Picchu where we were alone and able to take great pictures of this amazing historical site all to ourselves!
If you want personal service without any time wasted handling the logistics, I highly recommend Ramiro at Machu Picchu Explorer. Every part of our journey was timed precisely from time we arrived, tours, the Vistadome train rides, and drop off at airport. All 4 people in our party enjoyed every minute of our tour to Machu Picchu, thanks to the friendly people of Peru and especially staff from Machu Picchu Explorer.
