My guide Sopheara was extremely knowledgeable about Cambodian history and all the historic sites we visited. He even took me to places fewer tourists go and added more in when ahead of schedule. There is so much history to every temple you want to make sure you book a company that has certified, friendly guides like Affinity Angkor has. The driver Mr Kim was safe and courteous. Always had a cold towel and bottle of water ready for me after touring each temple.

We had an AMAZING visit in Siem Reap, thanks to Sopheara, our tour guide, and our driver Mr. Kim. I have done several tours across SE Asia, and I have never encountered a guide as knowledgeable, enthusiastic, respectful, and responsive as Sopheara! He took what would surely have been a wonderful trip and made it memorable, informative, and SUPER special. Thank you Sopheara, for your time and for sharing your admirable level of knowledge and history, as well as your passion for the history and heritage of your beautiful country.

We spent our 25th Anniversary with Mr Sam touring the temples of Angkor. Sam had excellent knowledge of the history and all of the stories associated with the temple reliefs. He showed us the steps to heaven and back again. People warned us about the crowds - thanks to Sam, not an issue for us. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a memorable trip.

I'm not very enthusiastic about Affinity tours. They are certainly not bad, but not as tailored and crowd-and heat avoiding as promised on the website. In fact, we were usually where the crowd was.
The first day we had to interrupt the program prematurely because it was too hot and too crowded. On the second day I went alone because my friend felt still miserable. We went to Kulen mountain. I requested to go to the waterfall first to avoid the crowds. We did, I am surprised that they didn’t come up with that idea themselves as crowd avoiding is their signature. I really enjoyed the waterfall as I was the only one - with the guide Tay who jumped in the water as well. That was fun. He took some great pictures and videos of me which I highly appreciate.
As I didn’t want to see more temples I asked him to show me rural and remote villages and visit a school (I teach Cambodian children in Thailand) on the way back. Unfortunately, we didn't go off the main road. After we had already passed numerous schools, I myself asked them to stop at the next school. Tay was then helpful with my request to sing an English song with the children. We all liked that.
The booking process was very smooth beforehand when it came to their predetermined tours. Little or no consideration was given to special wishes outside the established programme. I wanted to be picked up at the border in Poipet, visit a school and experience real Cambodian life in addition to the established program. Outside the school - which I approached myself - they could not mean anything in this.
The refreshing wipes with lemongrass after each walk were the most exceptional of the whole tour. That doesn't mean I didn't have good days. Anghor Wat and especially Ta Prohm and Kulen mountain are great places to visit anyway. Enjoyment is something you have to do yourself. And I certainly enjoyed it!

We had a wonderful 5 day stay in Siem Reap and we owe this very much to Affinity Angkor and our guide, Sopheara. We especially appreciated:
-quick and easy communication by email, prior to our visit, to define our schedule and deal with practical aspects (30% payment on booking,
e-visas and Angkor tourist pass)
-Sopheara, our guide, was a fantastic guy we highly recommend. He could explain all about the ancient Khmer civilization as well as comment on modern Cambodia. All this with loads of humour and a cheerfulness that made our trip memorable.
-The 3 day visit (1st day: long loop with Bantay Srei, etc...; 2nd day: short loop with Angkor Wat, Bayon, Baphuon and Ta Prohm; 3rd day: Kulen Mountain) gave us a superb overview.
-Getting back to the car after each visit was great to freshen up with some lemongrass-scented towels and get some cold water. Hotel pick-up was always timely and driving cautious and smooth.
-On the last day, we decided to buy a bronze statue as a souvenir and Sopheara brought us to a specialized warehouse with plenty of choice, which saved us much time compared to having to roam the downtown retail stores.
We had initially picked up a large travel agency operating in Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos, recommended in a well-known guidebook but Affinity Angkor proved to be more responsive, more consistent in their answers and a better quality/price ratio.
We can only add our very positive comment to the already long
list below.

I would like to share my utmost appreciation to the amazing experience my family and I had with Sopheara with Affinity Angkor being our tour guide throughout Siem Reip. First off, Sopheara has a wealth of knowledge about the ancient ruins, the country of Cambodia, the wonderful culture, Buddhism and Hinduism, and so much more. It is one thing to have the knowledge but it’s also very refreshing to share it all in a way to be easily understood. Sopheara also knows the English language so well, that it was easy to understand him.
Along with his knowledge, Sopheara is simply an incredible individual. He is passionate about what he is sharing. He has an authentic faith that is attractive and made me want to learn more about Buddhism. His warmth is sincere and infectious.
He read us well and did a fantastic job in showing us things that we were interested in. Nothing was ever too drawn out or ever got boring.
Finally, he went out of his way even after our tour ended. The next morning as we were leaving the hotel for the airport, he came by to say goodbye and wish us well.
I can’t image having a better tour guide. Anyone would be fortunate to have a similar experience as we did. I could recommend him more!

We absolutely loved our tour with Affinity Angkor. We are family of 4 (early 50’s plus 2 adult children) from the United States and have never been to Cambodia before. We chose a 2-day temple tour of Siem Reap. We had 2 wonderful drivers (Mr Tee and so sorry we forget the other) and our private tour guide was Sopheara. Initially we booked with Affinity Angkor for a few reasons… they have great online reviews, quick responses with easy to understand emails, LGBTQ+ friendly, good preplanned itineraries with private drivers that met our needs and our #1 reason was they secured our tour online immediately with a credit card. Other private, recommended drivers we tried contacting online were not able to offer any sort of confirmation and/or did not speak great English. We also decided that didn’t want to go with the typical, 3rd party, tour companies because you never really know what you’re gonna get once you arrive (and neither do they). After a hundred of those tours we didn’t want to “chance it.”
Angkor Wat and Siem Reap have been on our bucket list for decades and a lifelong dream. This is not the time to quibble over $50 or $100. It’s one of the greatest manmade wonders of the world and the largest religious sight in the world. Most people get 1 shot at seeing this in their lifetime, if they’re lucky. We wanted a great experience and we did not feel comfortable traveling all the way from the USA without a confirmed, reputable, english speaking tour and driver. Booking with Affinity Angkor Siem Reap gave us that peace of mind and we felt in very good hands months before we even arrived in Cambodia, which was important to us.
Day 1, Sopheara arrived early and spoke amazing English. Throughout the day we quickly realized he spoke better English than any of the other guides around and seem to be very well known and highly respected by everyone we encountered. We felt incredibly grateful as we could’ve never understood most of the other guides we overhead. Not only that, Sopheara is so passionate and educated about all the temples and the history of Cambodia that we learned much more than we ever expected.
Our first stop, he took us to secure our tickets, then onto the temples. He had plenty of cold water and towels on-hand, he knew the best times and places to avoid crowds, he found us lots of potty breaks and shady areas to stay cool, plus he’s an amazing photographer and great with a camera phone. He will definitely get you in lots of unique, spectacular pics and the very best photo memories of you and your group.
Day 2 was initially planned to be another temple day but after hearing about some other great experiences we asked if we could change it up. Sopheara was happy to accommodate us and planned a great day full of amazing, Khmer culture, more temples and nearby fishing villages. This ended up being our daughter’s favorite day of our entire 21 day trip.
You can easily find cheaper tours and guides out there but you will not find the high level of quality, care, service and professionalism as we received from Sopheara, the drivers and Affinity Angkor Tours. If you decide to book, definitely ask specifically for Sopheara (Soap-Pierre-Ra) to be your guide. He’s a great guy with a great name - and make sure to roll that last R.😉 He is super passionate about what he does, very easy to understand and will take great care of you… and in return we hope you will take great care of him.
You will come for the temples but you will leave with an unforgettable experience, and a wonderful, warm impression of the Cambodian/Khmer people - and probably a new friend. If you book with him please say hello from the Snyder family in Sarasota, Florida.

The temples are in remarkable archeological wonders in their own right, but the intricate stone carvings and detailed meaning across virtually every inch of the area was mind boggling. All of this was brought to life through the insight and cultural connection of our guide Sopheara and driver Long. If you are looking for a cheap option to snap some quick photos, this may not be the outfit for you. But if you are genuinely interested in understanding why the temples exist, how they were built, and a university level knowledge of the symbolism and history behind it all ... then these are the guys. We had a very specific time window to see Angkor and they put together a fantastic tindery that very efficiently utilized our time. We saw remote temples as well as the standard stops. Our guide expertly kept us on time schedule while at the same time taking care to pay attention to what caught our attention and spending more time there. Our guide and driver took an absolute professional amount of personal investment to try and provide us with an enjoyable and educational experience. They were wonderful cultural ambassadors and spending three days with them was an absolute gift.

As I was searching for private tours for Siem Reap, I came across Affinity Angkor and I’m so glad that I did. I booked a three-day private tour (traveling solo) and the excursions with Affinity were the highlight of my time in Cambodia. Affinity made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Monte laid out a proposed itinerary for me and was very responsive to all of my emails – the booking process was very easy. Monte was even able to arrange a private car service from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. In terms of the tour, I simply can’t say enough good things about Mr. Tay (guide) and Mr. Peak (driver). Mr. Tay was fantastic – he was so knowledgeable about the Khmer history and temples and has such a passion for his work. He took the time to explain the background on each of the sites that we visited including all of the religious influences. He was also so open on his life experiences and I was able to learn so much more about Cambodian culture through our conversations. I’d be remiss not to complement him on his photography skills as well! He was great at pointing out photo sites and taking pictures for me. The logistics couldn’t have been easier – Mr Tay and Mr. Peak picked me up each day at my hotel in a comfortable van with AC and also had cold water and snacks available. If I’m fortunate enough to make it back to Cambodia, I would absolutely reach out to Affinity and Mr. Tay and I can’t recommend them enough!

We (family of 5 with 3 boys 15,17,19) found Affinity through the web and based on the reviews booked a 2 day tour with them over Christmas in 2022. The entire experience from our first email to the company through our guide (Mr Tay and driver Peak) to the spots we visited and attention to our needs was incredible. They were responsive to every email and request and were totally flexible on our timing and plans and the cost was very reasonable for 2 full days of touring. They recommended the plans (big loop one day) and sunrise and small loop with biking the next day and everything was taken care of. Our guide totally engaged with our boys and kept it interesting with lots of info but also moved us at a pace that did not drag. We stayed at the Raffles and they met us at the hotel on time and ready to go. On the final day they also brought us to a great lunch spot which was excellent. We booked through Affinity instead of one of the big tour companies and were totally and completely pleased with our decision and we couldn't not recommend them highly enough.
