I had a half day layover in Chengdu and decided to do a half day visit to the panda sanctuary. I contacted China Discovery and told them my timings and asked them if it was even doable in such a short day. They very quickly replied and offered a very well constructed tour package that included hotel pick up, a private guided tour of the panda base, and even an airport drop off. Ellen,my guide was very professional, an expert in Pandas, and took excellent photos. She carefully monitored the time throughout so we got back to the airport well on time.
I can't express how glad I am that I trusted China Discovery to plan my trip instead of sitting at the airport hotel waiting for my connecting flight.

Ellen was an amazing guide! She was very knowledgeable! I loved seeing the pandas.I would definitely use Wonder again for another tour!

My two friends and I did the one day private tour of Chengdu. We loved it! Our guide Kevin was funny and really knew the area well. We went early in the morning to beat the crowds at the panda research center, and Kevin did a great job of guiding us around in there. The other stops were great too. I really enjoyed walking through People's Park. It was a great day of getting to know Chengdu. Perfect for me as we had limited time and wanted to see the major sights. A big thanks to Wonder at China Discovery who planned a great trip for us and did an excellent job communicating with us before and during the trip. Wonder even sent us a gift to our hotel to welcome us to Chengdu. Wonder made the whole trip easy to plan and enjoy. Thanks to all! I highly recommend this tour!

We had a great weekend in Chengdu. As always everything was very well organised. The drivers were able to get another car seat for us at short notice and were all professional and helpful. Our guide Jane was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was also very patient with our young daughter and all her questions!
The hotel room was a bit tired but location was great and we weren’t there much so that didn’t matter a great deal. Overall a great experience and thanks to Riley at China Discovery for all her work in organising our visit and for the surprise gifts for our daughters which was a lovely touch.

We had a short trip but great time at Chengdu. Riley Guo assist me on booking our local flight and city tour around Chengdu. Even though it's 1 day trip only, we learned a lot about Panda, the City and their economic. Will surely book another trip to this agency. Thank you again.

My family spent an amazing day in Chengdu thanks to Rita's remote help and to our fantastic local guide, Jenny. Jenny spoke PERFECT English and was extremely knowledgeable about the pandas and the other sights in town she took us to see. They were also very flexible and could accommodate all the specific needs of a family with a 11 month old baby such us ours. Thanks a lot!

China Discovery Tours were excellent. We got to visit all the sites we wanted throughout China. Hotel accommodation was first class as were the daily lunches in fine restaurants.' The Guides were excellent and always on time as were the drivers. Mr Wonder Wang at China Discovery was tremendousl and assisted us at all times to get the tour organised. Payment was simple. One pair of our Group had to withdraw due to illness. Quick refund followed and full support. I can highly recommend China Discovery and their China tour. Cannot be faulted.

We have just returned from a private tour of China, all arranged for us by China Discovery. The original reason we chose them from many other companies in China was because they said they could get us into the Day Volunteer Programme at Woolong Panda Reserve. So we arranged our whole 11 day tour with them. We cannot recommend them enough. Every place we went we had our own guide and driver, coordination of flights, tours and pick-ups was excellent. The guides, nearly all young women, were brilliant and flexible. In Yangshou we had planned motorbikes (scooters) for the morning but when we woke up it was pouring with rain. Our guide immediately gave us other choices including massages or cookery. We chose the cookery class and within 10 minutes we found ourselves joining a group in the market to shop for our lesson. Great fun, thoroughly enjoyable. Wendy Dan was our contact/coordinator at China Discovery and she arranged our tour exactly to our wishes and was always willing to make last minute changes or additions. I actually booked several tours with this company prior to coming to China and they were great! I spoke with Johnson Wang and he was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and while I was touring with my mom. All of the guides that we had spoke great English and constantly checked on us with how we were doing and if the arrangements were what we expected. We toured through Bejing, Xi'An, and Chengdu and they were able to provide the arrangements between the cities as well with the guides dropping us off and picking us up. This tour company really went above and beyond and even had gifts for us along the way! It made for a really memorable experience for both of us and I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!

My wife and I recently completed a 22 days’ vacation/excursion in the People’s Republic of China. We arranged this voyage with China Discovery Tour Agency.(May17th-June7th, 2019)
Our journey throughout China included three air flights and four high speed trains
We visited Beijing, the capital of The People’s Republic of China. Highlights in Beijing, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, the Great Wall (Mutiny Section), the Sacred Way, wonderful Kungfu Show, and a wonderful dinner of Peiking Roasted Duck at the Iconic Quanjude restaurant. We then traveled 4.5 hours by Fast train to Xian to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses excavation site then on to the Ancient City Wall and then in the evening attended a wonderful Tang Palace Dance Show. We then traveled 3 hours by plane to Lhasa, the capital of TIBET. Then from TIBET back to China to the city of Chengdu (2 hours by plane) to visit the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and also enjoy the relax atmosphere of the city’s Renmin Park.
Then from Chengdu we traveled 1.5 hours by plane to Guilin, the most scenic city in China. We then drove about 2.5 hours to visit one of the most beautiful rice terraces in China…Longji Rice Terrace. What an experience hiking up on the edge of the mountain, including traveling up more than 900 steps in order to arrive at our hotel. Then the next morning more hiking up hill and steps to observe the spectacular view and to get a better understanding of the engineering developed many, many years ago to be able to cultivate rice at that high altitude. Later we visited Huangluo Yao Village and enjoyed a beautiful show by the Village Long Hair People. The following day we traveled back to Guilin and took a very relaxing sightseeing cruise 84 kilometers down the Li River to Yangzhou Town.
That evening we attended an amazing show directed by the world-famous director Mr. Zhang Yimou then the next day we drove back to Guilin and took a fast train (5 hours) to the the city of Chongqing (The largest city in Southwest China) to catch our cruise ship to take a 3 nights 4 days cruise down the Yangtze River, and during the cruise we had 3 shore excursions to visit different historic sites. After our cruise we then went on an all-day tour of the Three Gorge Dam. It is the largest dam in the entire world. After that we traveled by bus to to Yichang and took a fast train the the new city of Shanghai. Shanghai is less than 20 years. In Shanghai we visited the 400 year old Yun Garden, the Shanghai World Financial Center, the Nanjing Road, the famous BUND, Zhujiajiao Water Town, Tianzifang, Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory, and finally we attended an incredible Acrobat Show. Then on June 6thth we traveled back to Beijing by fast train (4.5 hours) and on June 7thth we departed China.
We have traveled to many different places all over the world during the past 21 years and I must say this excursion in China arranged for us by the very efficient, professional, and knowledgeable agent Wendy Dan of China Discovery was truly unbelievable. Simply put, Wendy Dan and all of the drivers and especially our English-speaking guides provided us with services way above our expectations. We indeed experienced a voyage of a lifetime.
During the past 21 years, we have traveled to the Middle East, North Africa, West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, all over the USA and Canada, many places in Central America and South America, Western Europe, Northern Europe, Egypt and throughout the entire Caribbean and we have been fortunate to have a very good experience in each of those many places. China Discovery organized a 22 days’ tour along with its the very proficient, caring, and knowledgeable service providers (especially our private English-speaking tour guides) which has resulted in my wife and I having to tell the World that this trip compares with the best vacation we experienced in all of our travels during the past 21 years. We are very, very impressed with the overall beauty, safety, cleanliness, orderliness, and history we experienced at all of the places we visited. We are still amazed at the considerable level of development China has achieved during the past 35 years. Yes, put a visit to China, planned by China Discovery, on your bucket list.
Finally, my wife and I would like to express again our sincere thank you very much to Candy-Beijing, Maria-Xian, Dorjee-Lhasa, Kevin-Chengdu, Kennedy-Guilin, Charlie-Chongqing, Yichang- , Terry-Shanghai and Tina-Shanghai for your caring and professional service.
