We had the most amazing safari with Serengeti Wakanda.
We could not have wished for a better guide than Max. He has an incredible amount of knowledge about the animals and the nature. He told us so many details about the animals behaviour, their food choices etc. He is very passionate about the animals and nature and very good at spotting the animals even in the far distance.
Because Max made very good suggestions for our schedule like heading out on the game drive at 6am and having breakfast in the Bush, we were able to have a lot of incredible encounters with lions and other animals while they were very active. Max always made Sure we are comfortable, giving us enough time to observe the animals, while also making sure to position the car in a way to take the best pictures. And since we headed out at different times than other tour Operators, we often were the only car in front of the animals. We were able to experience the animals from very close up.
We saw all of the big 5, even multiple animals of the rare ones (2 Leopards and 4 Rhinos). We also saw many many lions with their cubs, leopard cubs, cheetas with their cubs, a serval cat, elephant Herds, a herd of hundreds of Zebras, lots of giraffes and basically every animal there is to see.
One day we had Lunch in the Bush and Max chose a spot from where we could actually watch the great migration of the wildebeest while eating. A truly unforgettable experience.
A big thank you also goes out to our Cook Ashraf, i requested glutenfree food, and He made a glutenfree version of every single food He served (like Pizza, bread and pancakes every morning). The Variety of the food was very impressive and everything Tasted excellent. We had cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday- no prepacked lunch Boxes.
In the booking process we were in contact with Ushma who was very Patient with us, since we changed our plans a couple of Times.
We truly had the experience of a lifetime thanks to Serengeti Wakanda and everything by far exceeded our expectations.

Here’s A Solo Female Traveler’s Dream Safari – Absolutely Unforgettable!
As a solo female traveler, going on safari was something I had always dreamed of but was hesitant to do alone. With so many tour companies out there, it’s hard to know which one to trust, who your guide will be, and what kind of experience you’ll have. I was incredibly picky when choosing a company, and I can confidently say I was beyond lucky to have found this one.
From the very beginning, the planning process was seamless. Beatrice was an absolute gem—patient, attentive, and always available to answer my countless questions. She tailored everything to my preferences, ensuring the itinerary was exactly what I wanted. Their responsiveness and flexibility put me at ease, and their professionalism was evident every step of the way.
Upon arriving in Tanzania, I was met with the same level of care. They even arranged for someone to meet me the night before my safari to go over all the details, which reassured me that I was in good hands. Then came the actual safari—a five-day adventure that turned out to be the best experience of my life.
The moment I got into the car with my guide, Francis, I knew I was in for something special. His knowledge, passion, and attentiveness made this safari truly unforgettable. He wasn’t just a guide—he was a storyteller, a wildlife expert, and someone who knew exactly when to engage in conversation and when to let me soak in the beauty of the wild in silence. I learned more about animals than I ever could from documentaries, and his sharp eye ensured I didn’t miss a single incredible sighting.
Francis went above and beyond, constantly scanning for wildlife, sharing insights, and making sure I had the most immersive experience possible. I was updating my friends in real-time, sharing everything I was learning, and they were just as amazed as I was. It wasn’t just about seeing the Big Five; it was about truly understanding the animals, their behaviors, and their environment—all thanks to Francis.
Words cannot fully capture how extraordinary this trip was. The combination of Beatrice’s meticulous planning and Francis’s incredible guiding made it the adventure of a lifetime. If you’re reading this and debating which safari company to book, look no further. Trust me—go with this company, and if possible, ask for Francis. He is the reason this was the best trip I have ever taken.
I came into this experience unsure and apprehensive, and I left with lifelong memories, a heart full of gratitude, and a safari that exceeded all my expectations. Thank you, Beatrice, Francis, and the entire team—you made my dream come true!

Stop your search for the perfect safari - you found it! For our honeymoon, my husband and I did the 5-Day Private Safari (4 days of game drives, 1 day waterfall hike & coffee tour) on a mid-range package, which still felt luxury. I can confidently say some of my favorite memories of all time have come from this trip and we will absolutely be returning. The below review is long so the TLDR version is:
Book with Wakanda, request Edward as your guide, and opt for at at least 4 days of game drives to see the big 5 - 5 days is better if you can swing it!
***Request Edward: he is perfect and must be protected at all costs, and anyone who books with Wakanda should 100% request him. As with any tour, especially private, the tour guide can make or break the experience. In our case, we were spending nearly 12 hours per day for 4 straight days with our Safari guide in close quarters and over shared meals. You of course want someone capable and intelligent with a great attitude, and someone you don’t mind spending so much time with. Edward is your guy - he made our trip beyond exceptional.
His extensive knowledge of all species of flora and fauna, his ability to scope out and accurately identify animals that were just a speck on the horizon, and his complete mastery of navigating and driving through all of the parks we visited was truly unbelievable. This man did not pull out a map or get lost ONCE. While driving us around in his pristine Land Rover through the winding roads and demanding terrain of Tarangire, Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and greater Arusha, Edward knew the best routes, typical animal hiding places, and expert insight on the best time/location to view each animal, which maximized each day.
Edward never settling for a “just ok” viewing place, rather, he was always maneuvering the car into the best and closest (and safest!) possible spot to view the animals. We not only saw The Big 5 and so much more in abundance, but we also experienced incredible animal interactions only otherwise found in a documentary narrated by David Attenborough. Edward also taught us about the history and culture of Tanzanian nature and its people, dating back millions of years to literally the first humans.
Edward kept us fed, hydrated, on time, safe and happy, always checking in to make sure we’re comfortable and demonstrating nothing but professional hospitality and a calm demeanor - something that is major when lions are just feet away from the car. The fact that so many other guides across the plains stopped to say hi to him emphasized how friendly and seasoned he is. He is the man, and we feel so lucky he was our guide. You can tell he loves his job. Edward made our trip unforgettable and we certainly won’t forget him!
**About Serengeti Wakanda:
Wakanda is an elite safari provider in Tanzania and truly thought of everything - we is not lie a finger - and as rather particular New Yorkers who usually prefer to book everything on our own, this safari was worth every penny. We were truly starting from scratch with safari planning and made it so easy.
Wakanda is professional, organized, and flexible, starting with our arrival transfer from Kilimanjaro International and ending our transfer back to Arusha airport, plus all the day to day scheduling, overnight accommodations and meals in between. All of the Wakanda cars are the best you will see in the bush, with WiFi in the car, plenty of water and other beverages in the cooler, adorable and clean picnic supplies (the hotels you stay at make your lunch each day) and even Masaii blankets for chilly mornings plus other thoughtful items like wipes and binoculars.
Beatrice helped us build the perfect safari itinerary months in advanced and arranged all of the admin, while Edward handled all the tickets and paperwork needed for entry to parks in person throughout the trip. He was quick and organized at each checkpoint and we did not need to do anything except enjoy the rest stop and take photos. The whole trip is the same - you just show up and then sit back. It’s amazing. A-Z it was incredible. Wakanda forever!
**Game Drives & Coffee Tour:
Opt for at least 4 days of game drives (5 nights if you can, 3 of which in Serengeti) in order to see The Big 5 plus unmatched beauty of world famous African wildlife and nature. 4 days allowed us to cover the entire area, but 5 days gives you an extra day in whichever area is most populated with animals at that time of year. Time flies throughout the drives because you’re passing animals and gorgeous nature along the way. Stay as long as you can.
Our waterfall hike and coffee tour was at the base of Kilimanjaro (so cool) and spent with a different guide (Joshua, who is equally as great!) You can swim if visiting in low season but brace yourself for freezing water. The coffee ceremony was filled with drums and singing by a local tribe and it’s a ton of fun - Jordan, the coffee man, is incredibly knowledgeable and the coffee you brew with him is absolutely delicious. The local lunch is fresh and yummy - make sure to try the banana beer.
**Packing & Other Logistics:
Wakanda provided a packing list and helped us arrange leaving our checked bags (which held our stuff for the rest of our honeymoon) at the first hotel in Arusha while we went on Safari, which is perfectly safe and handled with a trusted hotel partner. You can use an AirTag and luggage that locks if you’re nervous (I was) but everything is secure until you return. On Safari, my husband and I each brought 1 duffel (I used a Beis Weekender, he used Patagonia black hole) + 1 backpack. Using bags without wheels is key as you will need to carry your bags over gravel, dirt or grass to/from the car at each overnight accommodation. Note it is VERY dusty on the drives - bring a mask or bandana and inhaler if you have asthma, plus face wipes, hat and glasses to keep it out of your hair and eyes!
Our Wakanda itinerary had us staying at a different place for 4 nights (our fav was Signature Serengeti Luxury Tented Safari) which is typical for long haul safaris. Again, all we did was show up, go over the next day’s plan with Edward, and then the hotel staff would escort us to our room after an expedited check-in since Wakanda pre-arranged everything. Each place was unique, clean, and beautiful, and great for stargazing at night.

Many thanks to the whole team and especially to Zepha our guide and Doula our cook who are of impressive professionalism. Zepha knows the Serengeti very well and goes out of his way to see the big five and many other animals. We lived a safari beyond what could have been dreamed of. Big five , hunting scenes , birth of guru etc. not to mention sunrise over the savannah . Thanks to Doula you are at the restaurant morning , noon and evening no picnic to go quickly , I guarantee you that around we look at our plates 😉
The exchanges with the office were also superb , your contact tries best to satisfy your requests , your budget .... I also thank the management of Wakanda who took care of the loss of our luggage by the airline , on our return from safari she was waiting for us at our hotel .
Thank you very much for everything

We had a great 5 days on the safari. Our guide Francis was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us a lot about the different flora and fauna. The food was also excellent, with Ashraf adjusting to our vegan diets. The camp sites that were chosen were in beautiful locations and the provided camping equipment very comfortable. We can definitely recommend this tour.

Many thanks to Bashir for these 5 days spent finding the Big Five (5/5 ✅). He was at his best this whole time. Very picky about the explanations about the life of animals.
And a big thank you to Doula, our chef who really regaled us!!

I can not recommend this tour highly enough. The accommodation was fantastic. So was the food. Communication and organisation was excellent. But the real star was our guide Benji. He found every animal on our safari shopping list and managed to get us so close to the action. Plus he’s a great guy.

Fantastic experience. Our tour guide Benji was a legend and extremely patient with our group of Aussie Safari adventurers. It was truly an amazing experience and one I will remember forever.

My partner and I chose the 5 night safari, I immediately say it was an amazing experience. We left Arusha in our private jeep, with cold drinks every day for us.
Our Guide, Edward, was fantastic, not only a great driver, he always made sure the car was in perfect condition, he always drove safely, he never went the wrong way, he could recognize every animal from afar, and he allowed us to see all the big five. The cook Youseph cooked every day for us warm and really good dishes.
We slept in tents in public camps, and we could not make a better choice, at night the animals approached and we could hear them near the tent, it was exciting.
Really Recommendation to see the North Serengeti, it was the best part of the whole trip, we could see the river crossing with our own eyes, it was exciting. After the safari, they worried about all our movements, from the airport, to Zanzibar. All in all, it was a great experience, and Recommendation to everyone this company. Wakanda Forever!

We stopped by Serengeti Wakanda Tours for our private safari in Tanzania (contact Bartho via WhatsApp). They managed our safari from arrival to Check-out from Arusha. We have designed with Bartho a package of 7 days 6 nights including 5 days of safari as well as visits such as Arusha Maasai Point of Sale, Maasai Village, Orphanage. Parks visited: Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Manyara. I wanted to share that I had a great time with our Guide Bashir and our cook Msanya. Bashir has 10 years of experience and knows national parks like his own. We had the chance to see the Big 5 as well as many other animals such as elephants, monkeys, baboons, lizards, hyenas, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, crocodiles, gazelles, parrots, birds of all kinds, a serval, a jackal, a snake and the list goes on! Bashir was very good advice and maximized our time on the spot so we could see lots of animals. Msanya cooks very well, he managed the 3 meals a day and he even prepared us a surprise birthday cake on the last night. I recommend going through Serengeti Wakanda Tours with your eyes closed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything ❤️

Hey I have a question about bags I seen there was a option to be picked up from the airport so is there a place the have to leave suitcases and luggage while you go on the safari
Skrevet 29. juni 2023
Hello, I have a question regarding the safety when sleeping in tents outdoors in the wilderness: are there fences or some kind of protective panels so that the lions or other animals stay away? The second question is related to the Masai villages: is a visit to such a tribe included in this safari? Thank you
Skrevet 7. juli 2022
no, as far as I can tell there were no fences. but in fairness I must say that we have never felt unsafe.
The trip to the Maasai is possible on request. Keep in mind that you have to pay for this separately.

Hi, We are a family of 4 travelling from the U.K. and are considering a 5 day safari with you. We plan to arrive at Kilimanjaro intl on 16th August at 7 am. We would like to start our safari on 17th August. Can you advise whether we should stay overnight on 16th in Kilimanjaro or should we get to Arusha. We weren’t sure if you are able to pick up for safari on the 17th from Kilimanjaro. If not, we can travel to Arusha for the overnight stay. What would be best ? Thanks . Nitin

You should plan to get picked up from Arusha. That is the starting place for most safaris. Kiliminjaro is in the opposite direction from the airport, Arusha, and Serengeti.
