This was a true Amazon experience from start to the end. Everything was just as in the itinerary with no unplesant surprises. Saw many animals, birds and plantations. The guide was very much informative. The lodges were comfortable. A good valur for time and money.

I booked the 4 day/3 night Amazon tour. Wow, what a trip. I went with my mother to Puerto Maldonado where we were promptly picked up at the airport. I was amazed they remembered since I booked the trip over 5 months before the actual trip. We had a lot of luggage (as we were planning a 2 1/2 weeks in Peru) and they were very patient as we sorted out our luggage to bring only what was necessary for the time out there. Since it was only me and my mom we basically had a private tour. We went on a boat and went to Sandoval Lake. This meant walking about 45 minutes to another boat, but it was an easy walk. We saw tons of birds and monkeys on our way to our hut in Sandoval lake. We stayed for one night. Had a evening/night tour on the lake to see the monkeys, caiman and birds. Our guide was amazing. He is so invested in knowing animals he knew the type of birds by their sounds and would mimic them. We had some amazing food there. The local fish was out of this world!!! The next day we did an early tour on the lake to see some river otters and more birds/monkeys, etc. We had to leave to go to our next lodge. Of course we got stuck in a crazy monsoon. But it’s the rain forest, you gotta expect it! We just laughed and enjoyed the moment. We then got out of lake so do all and Tambopata reserve and stayed at the other lodge for 2 nights. We did a jungle night walk, a canopy walk/zip lining, and visited the indigenous people there who painted our face and showed us how they made clothes and start a fire with woods. The last day, we we packed our things and then went to the parrot clay lick and saw tons of parrots and parakeets. It was amazing. We also saw quite a few sloths. We then were brought back to puerto Maldonado, they bought us breakfast (whatever we wanted on the menu), and walked around the small town until it was time to go to the airport which we had a private car service to take us. It was a great trip. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and I highly recommend this tour company. If you want personal attention and just be a herd, choose them.

Thanks a lot Richard and Machu Picchu Amazon Peru for efficiently organising this tour. They gave so much of personal focus and assisted in packing the right stuff for the tour. Everything was impeccable and it was a good value for the money i paid.

This trip was nothing but a series of errors and broken promises by Macchu Picchu Amazon Peru. They have no offices or people in Puerto Maldonado and subcontract the tour out to various local companies. They completely changed the hotel we were to stay at - first they made us trek 3km along a plank walkway out to a lodge on Sandoval Lake.
We discovered the lodge had no pool, no zip line, no canopy walk, no access to the parrot clay lick - all of which were activities we had paid for. The other couple harassed the company for a day until they finally agreed to move us so we could do the activities we paid for… but they still didn’t move us to the original place they said we would stay. We never did go to the macaw clay lick because the second place they moved us was still too far away.
Next time I will book directly with the lodge and with a local tour operator who actually knows what is going on. The local operator they subcontracted to told us Macchu Picchu Amazon Peru regularly makes last minute changes without informing clients and over promises on activities that aren’t physically possible to do in the time allotted.

I am very much grateful to Richard for making this dream trip a memorable one. The guide was very knowledgable. They pretty much took care of everything from start to end. They accommodated us in a very comfortable jungle lodge right in the midst of the jungle. The food was authentic and plentiful each time. A good value for money.

The trip was excellent. In Cusco, Richard was very helpful. And the people in the office in Puerto Mandolado as well. The lodge was very nice and the rooms very big. The activities were very interesting. Lunch and dinner included traditional dishes, which were very tastefully. Definitely we will recommend it to our friends.

This place is really out of the world. Amazon Rainforests are massive and there are many hidden gems here. We were lucky to spot many animals including Tapirs, leopords, cheetahs and more. The guide as a local knew a lot and it was very easy to spot animals with him. He also has an immense knowledge about the plants and flowers those are typical to the region. The lodges were very cozy and comfortable. I was picked up and dropped off to the airport in Puerto Maldonado. Felt very safe and comfortable and highly recommend this comany.

After walking in and out of many tour companies in Cusco, we decided to travel to Tambopata with Machu Picchu Amazon Peru. Richard the person who sold us the tour was very friendly and informative. He had one of their representatives to pick us up from the Puerto Maldonado airport as we landed.
Saul was our guide and his knowledge and awareness of the animals and plants was astonishing. It was very easy to spot them as he knew when was the right time, we saw many distinct animals like Tapirs, Jaguars and Monkeys.
The lodges that Machu Picchu Amazon accommodated us were comfortable and the staff there cooked delicious local cuisine.
We would surely consider Machu Picchu Amazon Peru if we plan out trip to Peruvian Amazon again in future.
