3 friends from Oregon/Calif thoroughly enjoyed our fishing experiences with Scott!! Scott is highly skilled, amiable and informative throughout the entire trip. All three of us limited out on salmon and halibut over the 3 day trip and we're now back at home with our families enjoying full freezers of wonderful fish filets We couldn't have been more pleased with our Alaskan adventures! Thank you Kenai Drift Anglers!!

10 stars! Best guide on the river. Scotty took up the Kenai to fish for sockeye. We had the best day. Hit our double limit 24 salmon Scotty taught us all the flossing technique, got us a great spot on the river which is hard to come by in July. He was just awesome and we will be back

Scott’s communications prior to the trip and expertise on the water made for a spectacular day of fishing sockeyes! My wife is hooked!

We went fishing with Scotty. He did a great job guiding our trip down the Kasilof River! My husband and I had so much fun learning the fly fishing techniques! Scotty was patient and knowledgeable. Thanks for a great day of fishing!

If there’s one place that you should go salmon fishing in the US, it’s the Kenai River in Alaska. If you’re fishing the Kenai River in Alaska, you want to book Kenai Drift Anglers. Eight months earlier we did all our research and booked Kenai Drift Anglers. Eight months later, we’re standing in the glacial waters of the Kenai River flossing for salmon. What? You never heard about flossing as a fishing technique. Me neither but our guide, Scotty, explained this unique fishing method.
We were targeting Sockeye salmon, hoping to catch the last run of the season in mid-August. Scotty explained to us that Sockeye swim upriver to spawn and they swim with their mouth open. You basically cast your line perpendicular to the current, cast at noon as Scotty explains. Then, while the rod tip is pointed down, slowly sweep your rod tip to about the three o’clock position to a count of three. Just before reaching the three o’clock position, increase the speed to set the hook.
It’s crazy to think that tossing a hook at the end of a line, without bait, into a fast-moving river and hoping that a fish swims by with its mouth open and somehow bumps into the line would work but we’re heading home with over 50 lbs. of ‘Red’ Salmon. Thanks to Scotty’s easy mannerism, patience, expert teaching, guidance, advice, knowledge of the river, and ability to put us on the fish, this was truly a rewarding fishing experience. We kept him busy too. He was running up and down the rocky river, helping us free snags, patiently instructing and re-instructing us on technique, calmly talking us through landing the fish, and most importantly netting the fish. He always had a big grin on his face when one would break off as he exclaimed, “that was a big Sockeye!”
He expertly filleted the fish, recommended a fish processing company to prepare the fish to take home, and took the trophy pictures to share with family and friends. It was a fantastic trip, a memorable experience, and Scotty is a terrific guide. Highly recommend you book him today.

Captain Scott is amazing!!!
He is incredibly patient when teaching fishing techniques. If you are a beginner or an expert, this is a great character for you! Scott is relentless in his pursuit of fish, and focused on a successful trip for his clients.
The communication and customer service was on point. We will definitely book again.

My first call when planning an Alaskan fishing vacation was to Scotty and boy was that the right call. Not only did he get us setup for a couple great days fishing with him for sockeye, but he also booked a fantastic halibut charter for us.
We had a great time fishing with Scotty! He was a great teacher and worked hard to put us on the fish. We caught our limits of sockeye which he filleted and also pointed us in the direction of a nearby processor. If you’re looking for a great guide or advise on where to start in planning your trip, I’d definitely give him a call.

I was looking for a great Alaska fishing experience with my boys, 16 and 18. Scotty did not disappoint! He made everything so easy we were hooking fish within an hour of meeting him. I heard he was a great teacher and he is. We saw a few other anglers and they were looking at us a bit jealous. So glad we caught some fish on the beautiful river, brought them home to San Diego. Looking forward to the next trip!

Four of us fished with Scotty and he was great! You can tell he loves what he does. He provided everything and was very attentive the whole time. I saw other guides sitting on shore giving suggestions. Scotty was always on his feet, circulating between the four of us so that we felt comfortable. We fished the Kasilof River. Will definitely fish with Scotty again.
