Our family of 4 had a really great day on this tour! Pastor picked us up promptly at our hotel in Sandton and we began the busy day. Pastor was really insightful and provided a lot of interesting perspective from someone who grew up in the area. He was also very sociable and a great sense of humor with the kids. We saw the Mandela house in Houghton Estate, constitution hill (Pastor shared that his father is an artist and pointed out one of his works at construction hill (that was really cool), chancellor house ( Mandela and Tambo law office), Regina mundi Catholic Church, the Mandela house in Soweto, Hector Peterson memorial, and the Apartheid Museum which was the perfect amount of time. We spent around 2 hours there- you could spend longer, but we didn’t feel rushed and saw the highlights. We also toured the impoverished part of Soweto and had some wonderful interaction with the local children. We didn’t want to feel intrusive or exploitive, but they did a wonderful job with that- we never felt unsafe and this really enriched our experience of Soweto. I would strongly recommend this tour!

My family and I did this tour with our guide, Pastor. He showed us around the city and explained the cultural and historical significance of the things we were seeing. We learned so much and really enjoyed ourselves, though some of the content, especially at the Apartheid Museum, is difficult. We feel like we have a much better understanding of South Africa and its people after this tour.
Pastor was great. He was kind to my children. He was familiar with all of the logistics of the sites we visited and had contacts at each, which made the tour efficient. We did not wait in any lines. He tailored some of the day, such as the restaurant we at lunch at, based on our unique preferences and needs. He is a wealth of information and handled some of our awkward questions elegantly. He did a wonderful job, and I am grateful to him for giving us a great day.

Pastor and his family offer very affordable, small group tours. Our full day Johannesburg tour (which ended up being just my husband and myself) was exceptional. We drove through many parts of Johannesburg and Soweto, learning about lots of buildings, monuments, art installations and neighborhoods, while stopping to explore some. Pastor was our tour leader and personalized our tour for us, allowing us extra time where needed and answering our many questions, while keeping us on a schedule that gave us enough time at our final stop, the Apartheid Museum. A delicious African lunch and his well deserved tip were our only additional expenses. I highly recommend his organization if you are looking for a safe, comprehensive, affordable Johannesburg tour.

Excellent tour!! We highly recommend this tour. Our guide Pastor was very knowledgeable about the history, politics and culture of South Africa. He also took the time to answer all questions asked. It was a day well spend. He truly felt like a friend.

I learned a lot. I have seen a lot. I had a great day. It was just the perfect tour for me and I will return for other tours with Mhlanganisi travel & tours.
The tour was varied, not stressful and safe at all times. It is a perfect overview of Joburg.

Did not even had to chance to do a tour with Mhlanganisi travel & tours. Booked with them via TripAdvisor & did not receive a confirmation or private message or whatsoever which I thought was weird as the other companies that we arranged tours with did. Just to confirm pick-up times etc. I decided to contact them via WhatsApp & they confirmed without me giving them details which made me think that we were probably the only ones on the tour. I know all about these ‘private’ tours where they rush you trough they things you paid for and actually want to see just to go to shops & tourist trap places where they harass you to buy stuff. When I explained that they became extremely rude & said they only offer private tours & their good reviews on TripAdvisor will speak for themselves & ‘goodbye’ this is even more reason for me NOT to book with them & I cancelled IMMEDIATELY. As a tour company you should make people feel comfortable & safe & I not felt that with Mhlanganisi travel & tours all!

1.Guest didn't do the tour with us
2.Guest booked the tour with trip-Advisor which they normally send booking confirmation to the guest, The tour was booked for the 18th of August 2022(Booking ref:BR-9090234)Johannesburg & Soweto tour at13h30 and Guest Sent us a message via whatsApp to check if we received the booking. and we confirmed that we received her booking.
3.Guest asked if the tour is private or group tour, then we told guest that its a private tour.(OUR COMPNAY ONLY OFFERS PRIVATE TOUR)
4.Guest then cancelled the tour and we asked if guest wanted the group tour and guest started accusing companies offering private tours of being taking tourist to places where tourist are forced to buy stuff without their consent or the so called tourist trap.
5.Then we told the guest to read our reviews since we have never forced tourist to buy or take tourist to places where they will feel uncomfortable.
6.Our reviews does speak for themselves, We have never forced or take tourist to sites or places where they feel trapped or forced to buy things, whether its crafts shops, gift shops, community support, that's not how we operate.
6.This review is unfair especially for someone who didn't do the tour with us and who also wrote this review on the tour which she didn't book for, guest booked for Johannesburg and Soweto tour but this review was written on our full-day Johannesburg tour(joburg,Soweto&Aparheid museum)
8.This review was written to tarnish our company name since we don't offer group tours.

Hi. I am interested in doing this tour with my boyfriend on 11th October. I used to live in Dinwiddie near Germiston, until I was 3, and wondered whether it would be possible to include a drive out there as well? We wouldn't need long. Just time to take a few photos and videos for me to show my mum and dad, as they will sadly not be able to join us as they had originally intended. Thanks

At the end of the tour, I was taken to a restaurant for a late lunch. The restaurant was very close to Mandela's home. The food was good South African food.
