My Tour with the Earthstompers Adventures was amazing. Roy was our tour guide, and he was fabulous!! He kept us safe, kept us on agenda, was full of information about the tour and places we were travelling to, and very knowledgeable about everything South African. Plus he was funny, very chill, took photos for the group, and super personable.
As for the tour, this being my first time in South Africa, it was great for showcasing many of the sites and activities available in East and West Cape. The places we stayed in were amazing. The staff, facilities, and food was superb. The food at each place had options available for those with specific dietary needs. Each place we stayed and visited brought a uniqueness to the trip that created memories that I will be taking back home.
The only draw back with tours like this, is having to spend a bit of time in the van driving from location to location… But worth it in the end!
If you are looking for a tour in Cape Town, South Africa, this is the one for you!!

I did this tour in September 2023 and can highly recommend it. Everything, really everything, was professionally organized from transport over accommodations and meals to seeing the highlights of the garden route and Addo Elephant Park.
We had Christine as our guide. She is absolutely fabulous, a wonderful person and fun to travel with. Christine gave us lots of insights on people, cultures, points and sites we visited, told us about all sorts of animals, instructed us what to wear and take for our hikes, what to look out for and all that. She always did this with a smile and a catching enthusiasm. We were 24 guests between 23 and 63 years of age, coming from different cultural backgrounds and we were all excited about her. She managed even "special" guests highly professional and the information she provided was always just right, never too much and never too little. For sure, Christine is the guide you want for this tour!
At the end of the 6 days I felt it cannot get better than that. Worth every cent for what you get. Thanks Earthstompers and Christine for the wonderful week there!!

Excellent 6 day tour of the Garden Route from Cape Town.
We were picked up on time from our hotel and instantly felt welcomed by the guide, Roy and the other guests on the tour.
The pace of the tour was just right, with a good range of activities along the way. Some of the journeys were long, however Roy broke these up into bite size chunks so you could grab a coffee or a snack. The service stations in this part of RSA were excellent!
We chose the guest house option for overnights, and the quality of the accommodation was excellent every night. Don't think of UK guest houses - these are more like boutique hotels. The included meals were very good - and give a good flavour of South Africa.
Overall Roy was a fantastic guide, always felt safe and had an excellent time.

The plan of the tour is great but the execution depends a lot on the guide delivering the tour. In our instance we were assigned a third party driver and not one of their usual employed guides. Based on their website and reviews we were expecting a tour guide who has done plenty of this tour before and well equiped to deliver it. When booking this tour tt will mosty be luck if you are assigned a proper tour guide or an external driver. Most of the accomodations are great but one of them was very dirty.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We are glad you think the tour plan was great and that you enjoyed the majority of the accommodations chosen for this tour.
We are however very disappointed that you were not happy with your guide. We pride ourselves and are known for having the best guides in the industry. All guides are qualified & registered tour guides. Like any growing company we have to employ new staff & guides. Owners and management sift through 100's of CV's and follow up with references to make sure we find the best guides for the job. All Guides have to start somewhere (so did our senior Guides). We have a few newer guides that came on board in the last few months, so not all guides have been doing the 6 day tour for years, or working with Earthstompers for years, but all Guides are experienced Guides who are familiar and comfortable with our tour route.
All Guides have gone through Earthstompers training and evaluation before their first trip. New guides do 1-5 (depending on previous experience) training trips with some of the senior and experienced Earthstompers guides, and then go through evaluation with owners and management.
We can not find your Tripdvisor name on our client lists and we are not sure on which tour you were or who your guide was? Could we ask you a big favour to write us a direct email with more detail about which tour you were on, who was your guide, more detail about what your guide could have done more and please tell us which of the 5 nights' accommodation you were not satisfied with? This will help us follow up with our accommodation supplier and follow up with the guide about what is required from him/her and provide extra training if necessary.

We had the most amazing time in this adventure. It was beyond our expectations. Christine is amazing and I am so happy that we did the tour with her. The group was great.
We ate like royalty, we didn't have one average meal, every meal was special.
The accommodation was superb.
I would strongly recommend, it was a great way to start our 2 week vacation.

LOVED this. I went solo and the tour was amazing. I went with other travelers and explored the Garden Route. Christine was my tour guide and she was amazing. I went on my birthday and they made me feel so special.

The tour was fantastic!!!! Our tour guide Christine was excellent, she has so much energy and she is so knowledgeable, giving us so much cultural and historical information. She went out of her way to make the trip really special for everyone. The accomodation and facilities we stayed at were very clean and beautiful. This tour really gives a well rounded experience with a mix of adventurous activities and beautiful scenery. I love that we visited all the main attractions I wanted to see. Some of the optional activities we're cancelled due to the weather but it didn't at all take away from how good the overall trip was. Got loads of interactions with animals which is a really special experience. The food each night was DELICIOUS!! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone and I would definitely do it again!
