Tour muito interessante e bonita porém o nosso guia atrasou-se para ir buscar-nos e por isso estragou a excursão inteira, quase não paramos nos lugares que dizia na brochura, os poucos lugares que paramos era sempre temos muito pouco tempo 5min e vamos embora estamos muito atrasados.
Quando chegamos ao Cabo da Boa Esperança descemos do carro ele tirou uma foto e fomos logo para porque mais uma vez estávamos “atrasados”, chegamos ao farol não aproveitamos absolutamente nada tivemos de descer logo porque ele tinha outra tour. Tivemos de dizer a ele algumas vezes para abrandar porque estava a ir com excesso de velocidade. Sem contar que passou a viagem inteira a pedir-nos gorgetas.
O nome do guia é Michael Ângelo.

Did a private half-day Cape Peninsula tour and picked up right on time at the hotel.
Our driver, Reginald, was really knowledgeable and gave us lots of information as we were driving throughout the day.
We went to Cape Point well before the tour buses and was really quiet so great to take pictures, look around etc.
Boulders Beach and the penguins was our second stop and we never felt rushed at all spending around 40 minutes there.
Finally we came back through Chapmans Peak Drive and had a number of stops for photos and views at Noordhoek Beach & Hout Bay and we never felt rushed at all.
We arrived back at the hotel 30 minutes after our drop off time but no complaints from the driver or mention of being late.
Really enjoyed the private tour and would recommend ... ask for Reginald !

Unclear how AE manages their staff but there are some tour guides that should not be drivers. Our driver/guide, was surly at best, filled of complaints about other drivers on the road while driving erratically.
My travel agent had warned that the tour itself might feel rushed, but I was hopeful. Now, I think I would’ve had a better experience on a hop on hop off bus for the ‘limited’ time (10-15 min) we had at each location.
As an example, I only had a 15-min window to walk down to the pier to check out the Penguins, and I never made it to the lighthouse. There were five other patrons and for whatever reason their entry fees were not pre-paid so the driver ended up waiting in the queue, and was very upset about it.
The redeeming moment — when our driver handed us off to another driver, Abdul, who so kindly brought us to the ocean to dip our feet.

We booked this tour through our hotel and what a disappointment it has been...The tour guide arrived an hour late with no explanation and no apology. We were instead told that we would have to push hard to get through the itinerary so we could finish on time - even though we started late due to his late arrival. Majority of the places on the itinerary were not actual stops - we just drove past them, with no real opportunity to even take photos.
At some point we were told we had to pay cash for some fees- nothing of this was mentioned beforehand and we could have easily turned up without cash.
Spent an hour in the queue to get into Cape Point...which my gut feel tells me we may have avoided if we’d turned up earlier as we were meant to in the first place.
Worst and most important of all, we had a driver and tour guide but the tour guide might as well have stayed home - apart from mentioning names of places, he had little else to add. No stories, no anecdotes, nothing. Where he did make comments in a bid to be funny, they were somewhat inappropriate. Overall frustrating and disappointing.

We got picked up on time by our guide with 6 other people in total. The Route we took allowed us to see the twelve apostels and the different beaches. On request we did 2 stops to make some photos. We saw ostrichs at the Cape Point and the penguins as described. I could definitely stayed longer at these beautiful places but we didnt had that much time in Capetown and thats why we have chosen the half-day tour which was perfect for us.

We took private tour with Basil Brown. Perfect guide with deep knowledge and love to his country and history and actual situation. Thank you so much for making our trip unforgettable. Basil's love to South Africa inspired us. We can only recommend, good organisation worth every penny.

After reading some reviews on African Eagle Day Tours and those about a particular guide bearing the name of a famous German dictator, we crossed our fingers and hoped we wouldn't get him... and of course we did get him. We waited in the morning for our guide to pick us up. We were on time and waited outside our apartment and as time went by but we started to worry about where our guide was... Suddenly he comes storming around the corner and tells us to hurry up and get to his car which we would have never seen cause it was parked on an entirely different street. He said he was rushing to get the other passengers and complained that the company gave him poor instructions and/or not enough time to pick everyone up. After we picked everyone up, it was basically a rush to get to all the different scenic spots in half a day. We agree, a full day would have been ideal but half a day was all we had. By the way, the half day tour packs in the same as the full day one - but since the company offered it then we thought ok it is possible to do. His driving was a bit reckless to start... but he explained it that a half day tour was virtually impossible so we had to rush. OK fine. We ran into some traffic/problems at a toll area and the guide acted extremely agitated to the toll booth guy and at the time wasted there which made me feel quite uncomfortable. At Cape Point, he gave us 30 minutes to climb all the way to the top, take pictures and come back down. He also basically said he would leave us behind if we go over the time. My husband and I are used to walking fast we bolted up there but we worried about the other passengers. Feeling threatened by the idea of getting left behind, some passengers did not get to enjoy the top of Cape Point. Another point, is that we didn't know about the city's loadshedding until we arrived in Cape Town - as in cutting electricity to parts of the city. That particular day as we were heading back into the city we were stuck in absolutely awful traffic not the tour's fault though. My husband and I ended up missing our lunch reservation which we had paid a deposit for. He said that he had only one hour to pick up another set of passengers and would have to hand us off to another vehicle... which was very worrying... In the end, that didn't happen.
I would have chosen the full day tour and probably another tour company if we knew what we were getting ourselves into. Though we got to see every stop on this tour, it wasn't enough time to explore and relax. When the tour says "you get to drive through somewhere" you are literally driving past and you can't see anything and don't expect any commentary either. In fact, at each stop, they guide just let us out of the van and let us roam and told us to meet us back at that spot. He never once joined us or "guided" us. Also, African Eagle Day Tours probably needs to rethink their tour schedules.. it's simply not enough time for the drivers (the guide seemed very stressed), the passengers to enjoy their tour.. I also read another review about a passenger who had paid but the guide asked for money and threatened to leave them behind if they didn't pay... this happened to another couple on our tour too who had paid for the tour at their hotel. The guide didn't make any phone calls whatsoever to try to rectify the situation and instead made the couple pay again and then the couple had to go back to the hotel to ask for a refund... and last but not least... please hire better guides.. he was rude, he complained about the company, complained about things that were out of his control, he was threatening, and yes he also made that Hitler joke at the beginning of the tour (as some other people have mentioned).

From the moment our guide, Tresor, came to pick us up I was very stressed out. Our pick up was at 8:20 and my friend forgot her hat in her room and ran upstairs to get it. The guide arrived at 8:21 and started pressuring me to call my friend to hurry up because we were already late. My friend was down at 8:22 and he was actually still waiting for his teacher (this was his first time giving an actual tour) so he pressured us for nothing because we were waiting at our pick up for an additional 5 minutes. Anyway, at every pick up point he was pressuring us about time and was always waiting in/around the car, he was never with us. When we got to seal island we had to pay 100 rand for the ferry. Even though there were boats which were 80 rand and it was even cheaper online. We weren’t allowed to book a cheaper ticket and had to book with the more expensive ferry. This wouldn’t have been a problem if he had just explained why, which he didn’t do. He just said:”this is our ferry”. When we got back from seal island we stopped along the road for some pictures at a view point. He said we had 10 minutes to stretch our legs and take pictures. 5 minutes had passed and he started to pressure us again, we immediately went back to the bus(with a minute to spare). We then went to the light house where he told us that we have 25 minutes and that it was only a 10 minute walk up and 10 minute walk down, so we would have 5 minutes to take pictures, go to the restroom, grab a quick snack or drink and maybe buy some souvenirs. We all realized that this was not feasible and asked for more time. He didn’t know what to do so his teacher stepped in and gave us two options: 1) we have 45 minutes to spend there and we’ll have lunch at the boulders beach or 2) we have more time at the lighthouse and get lunch there. We all chose option 1. On our way up one of the girls from our tour got attacked by a baboon and was very shaken up because the baboon stole her jacket. 2 minutes before time we arrived back at the bus. We then arrived at boulders beach where we had 30 minutes (whereas the information on the website stated 45 minutes). When we got back to the bus we were informed that there will be no lunch because we should’ve had lunch at the lighthouse and that it’s a misunderstanding. So we had to get a sandwich, which we were not counting on because we got picked up at 8:20 there was also no time for breakfast. Whilst we were waiting in line Tresor asked us if everything was okay and we just told him that we felt pressured by him and he stated that it was our fault(!!!!) because we wanted to take pictures. I mean, taking pictures has always been part of vacation, right? We were very punctual because we knew it was his first day and we wanted him to feel good too. Also, when we told him about one of the girls getting attacked he didn’t even ask if she was okay. During the ride we were very scared. The bus shut down so many times because he didn’t know how to accelerate in first gear. He kept on bumping into sidewalks. At one point he was driving uphill in the wrong gear and the car shut down in the middle of the road. We were so scared that we would roll downhill because he didn’t know how to drive the bus back up. At that point his teacher took the wheel and started driving without any problems. I can understand that it’s his first time and that he was nervous, but this was just reckless and dangerous. And I really don’t mean to be rude, but this was not worth the time or the money. It was the worst tour I’ve ever taken! I wish I could get my time back because Cape Town has so much to offer and is so beautiful. Everyone in our bus was so upset and we couldn’t even enjoy our time. So, please book this tour elsewhere or just take the hop on hop off bus.

I had a great half day tour with this company. The driver was very knowledgeable and I felt safe throughout my trip. As I booked the private tour, I was able to decide what I was most interested in and tailor the tour, which was great. The car was very comfortable.

Had a great day doing to tours with this company. Our guide Friaso was excellent in his service and was very knowledgeable. The van was clean and was punctual.
