Brad was the absolute best guide. He was knowledgeable, fun and made our day wonderful. The railroad and van tour were a perfect match!

My wife and I had an awesome time. We were in the Yavapai Car which had not only comfortable seats but also reclined for additional comfort. The Marshall and the Cataract Gang started the day at the "Western Town Show" complete with a shoot-out at the coral and ended the day with "The Robbery". Our tour guide on the train was Tarol. She was informative, funny, and gracious. Her stories were a hoot. Try her famous Whoo Whoo drink concoction (adults only). The train ride itself was 2.5 hours long one way, but before you knew it the Grand Canyon was the next stop. A sighting of Elk was an extra surprise (not included in the price LOL) On the return train trip, we were treated to a train robbery, complete with cowboys on racing horses pursuing the train that had to stop (due to a rubber cow placed on the train tracks) All the theatrics made for a great adventure. The Marshall captured all the desperados. I forgot to mention the Gentleman Cowboy with a guitar that sang/yodeled on the trip to the Canyon. On the return trip, we had a young guitar player with a modern fair. Overall, you will not be disappointed with the snacks, drinks (with and w/o alcohol), the entertainment, and your coach host (ask for Tarol).

The Grand Canyon was amazing . The train ride was peaceful. Good time to sit back and relax. There was a lady who sang some songs with her guitar. She had a lovely voice with a great attitude.

Train ride was Ok -- more for families I believe.
The van ride was excellent - our tour guide Andrea was fabulous as she took us to four different areas around the canyon.

Wow! The Grand Canyon exceeds all expectations. Our tour guide Sheldon made sure everyone was able to fulfill their trip expectations with comfort and ease. He showed us the best places to view the canyon. He gave us context for each site whether on the road or on the trail. He reminded us to drink the cold water he carried for us and took us to the best bathrooms. The train is a good break for a kid. My 8 year old had a great time in a van full of grownups. What more could anyone want? Wow!

Staff was great! A memory making family experience. Entertainment through out the journey including tour guide, cowboy, and Musicians.

The entire trip was awesome. The train ride and all the information that was available were superb. Entertainment on the train was wonderful. Steve, our guide, was an excellent and punctual driver. The views came after the train ride. I was so glad that he took us to spots that didn't have hundreds of tourists.

JR did a great job of explaining the history of Sedona & Arizona, with great detail of the Sedona area & pointing out local areas of interest & other landmarks of the area!

Pricing in my opinion is excessive based on my experience. Train ride was very boring and very little to see of consequence. Took away from spending more time in canyon.

The train was clean and a smooth ride, people who were running the show were super friendly and entertaining. Not as scenic as anticipated, but it was a cool train ride with lots of good history.

When the train arrives at the Grand Canyon, do we transfer to a van or remain on the train? Do we need to book a separate tour of the canyon? Or Are we on our own?

We rode in the luxury parlor car and for us it was totally worth the money. The seats were really comfortable there was food and drink available and even a bar if you needed it. We were able to walk to the back of the train and look out while standing On the back porch of the train. Of course we were not traveling with children and children under a certain age are not allowed in those cars. Just as an FYI we had booked a coach tour once we got to the Grand Canyon with lunch and the lunch was really not worth it especially after the large meals at the Grand Canyon hotel

This excursion was more than just the train ride actually. It was a van with a tour guide also. The train was only 2.5 hrs at most. They are out of Sedona I believe but did pick me up in Flagstaff. I would call and find out where they could pick you up. The van portion is well worth it!

Not sure how far Sedona is from Williams. The train departs and returns to Williams. There are nice hotels and restaurants in Williams.
Do you have to return the same day or can you get a room at the Maswik Lodge for a few days and then return to Williams.
