Best lessons ever ! Martina was kind, encouraging, took all necessary time to explain as well the technical part as the environnent details to learn.
Also important, she was always smiling 😊

I have never been surfing before and I thought it would take me a lot of attempts to get it down. My guide did an amazing job of helping me get the basics down and begin to learn a little more advanced skills. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is unsure if they are able to surf without prior experience, as well as for those who have been surfing before.

I had truly amazing afternoons with Dominical surfschool. The super helpful, friendly and competent staff and surf instructors made sure, it was a 10/10 experience. Definitely would recommend!

I took three surf lessons with Dominical Surf School and I loved it! I learned a lot and had so much fun in every single surf lesson. I could really tell how these lessons helped me to improve my surfing. And every surf teacher that I had was super nice, supportive and patient. I can only recommend this School. Thanks a lot!

I've had some of the best surf lessons of my life at this school! I've had lessons throughout my travels in Costa Rica and around the world but learned way more here. I'm an advanced beginner/intermediate surfer and wanted to hone in new skills such as reading waves, turtle rolling, going left/right and up learning so much more than I thought. I took an intermediate class and my instructor Martina was the absolute best and so knowledgeable/supportive!! First we took time to go through wave theory and basics on the sand before going out into the lineup. She gave my valuable tips and feedback during the session that helped me change bad habits and make space for growth. By the end, I even learned carving basics which I don't know if I would've been able to do on my own. As someone who had their fair share of mediocre surf lessons, I felt challenged yet safe and supported and the instructors are super friendly and knowledgeable. Dominicalito Beach is absolutely beautiful as well. I would 100% recommend this school to anyone looking for a fantastic surf school!

This experience was AWESOME!! We're a family of 7, kids range in age from 11-21 and this was a family favorite. Martina and her crew of instructors (4 total for our family of 7) were amazing!! None of us had surfed before, but we each got up multiple times! They were all so helpful and patient, making sure everyone was successful. If we had more time, we would definitely book a second day. We had so much fun and would highly recommend this company and team of instructors.

The owner and instructors were so amazing and accommodating for our family of four! Our children are 7 and 10 years old. We were guided to the appropriate places and time for our lessons and had great progressions! The instructors and the owner were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our surf trip was a success! I very highly recommend!

Martina needs a raise!!
Was lucky enough to have a private lesson with Martina and it was awesome! She’s warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable and I learnt so much and had the best time!
All of the staff at Dominical Surf School are lovely and it was just an all around amazing experience!

I just returned from a trip to Dominical with my 18yo daughter and we had a blast! Not the least of which was the surfing experience we had with Dominical Surf School on Playa Dominicalito.
I wasn't sure where in CR I was going and I had never been to Dominical. I emailed the company a few months before my trip. Debbie, the owner, emailed me back immediately with helpful info and also offered to talk on the phone if I had any questions. I had a few. We talked and she was super helpful and clinched my decision to come to Dominical. I wasn't looking for a surf camp. Just a lesson to knock off the rust and maybe catch a ride to other beaches nearby. Dominical has great surfing, but a little above my begintermediate level at times. Playa Dominicalito is just a few minute drive away and a great place for beginner-intermediate surfers . And Debbie was able to put together an experience that worked great for us.
My daughter, who is very much a beginner, and I had a fantastic lesson from José Miguel. He was able to work with us so I could practice in the whitewater and then move outside to catch some green waves, while working with my daughter in the whitewater until she was gaining some confidence. I'm an expert at a few other things I do in the outdoors, but surfing is definitely not one of them. This lesson and this beach allowed me to go to the next level in my surfing.
My daughter and I wanted to surf a few more days but agreed we didn't need another lesson, just boards, a ride to the beach (I didn't have a car) and time to surf. They allowed us to do a ride-along the next day for a very reasonable price, space available mind you. It was just what we needed. Communication from Debbie's staff, their friendliness and their willingness to help us surf was all top level. They were very accommodating. I'm sure a surf camp is a fantastic experience, but that's not what we were looking for. Debbie and her staff were able to make lessons work for us. I will very likely come back to Dominical in the future, and when I do I will utilize the services of Dominical Surf School. I recommend you do too.

Today 18/4-24 I had really good surf lesson with Dominical surf school. We practiced on turning’s and little board control, so it’s easier to go back out again. It was a good experience, learning a lot today. So thank you so much.
