We just paid for driver. No timing for tour was scheduled. We were sitting in the bus for hour waiting for another bus to fill in. No tour guide. Driver doesn’t know about area. Lunch was cancelled. One stop of interests was missed due to the time limitation. People afraid to be late for the last tender to the ship. Tour not worst the money we paid for. Too expensive for such service.

If you would rent a car to the Diamond beach yourself it paid off all of your needs.

First off the places we visited we very beautiful. If your coming to Djupivogur on a cruise your options are limited and Artistica provided a way to see these beautiful places. I am glad I saw the Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon. Before booking, people should note they will be in a car/van for the majority of the day to get to these places. I knew this upon booking, but it was still not an easy fete to be in the car with limited time in these places. I think where I felt the tour was lacking some is as much time as we were in the car, there was little interaction or explanation from our driver who was to new Iceland. There was a tape played at the beginning but he could not answer many questions. When you're in the car that much , having explanations and knowledge of things would have made the time in the van and day much more knowledgeable.

I only wish there was a lower rating than 1 star. We were told the tour would be a little over 7 hours. Here is how it broke down. 5 1/2 hours on a bus; 45 minutes spent at a grocery store in Hofn. 30 minutes looking at the glacier and buying crap food at the mini food store; 15 minutes looking at the Diamond Beach. 20 minutes back in Hofn at a gas station and convenience store.
The bus was so small it looked the seats were designed for grade school children. No leg room at all. Very uncomfortable and it took a great deal of shouting to the driver to get him to turn the A/C on. Yes we stopped at Hofn but never saw anything of the "charming fishing village" as promised. One has to assume the driver gets a kickback from the grocery store where we spent so much time.
At the lagoon we never got the free ("included in the price) Icelandic picnic + drinks. We bought food and drinks with our own money at the mini food store by the lagoon.
Aristica spoke of Stokksnes Vestrahorn. What was that? We certainly never stopped. Was this the site viewed from the bus on the way to the Lagoon? If so, every single car on that road saw Stockness then.

We want to clarify that the tour is designed to include significant time traveling to offer scenic views along the way, totaling around 5 hours. While we did not highlight air conditioning in our description, it’s worth noting that many vehicles in Iceland do not have air conditioning due to the typically cool temperatures. We understand that comfort is important, and we’ll take your comments into account to improve future trips.
Regarding the stop in Hofn, the schedule includes time for bathroom breaks and some leisure at local spots, such as the grocery store and library. The view of the glacier from the grocery store is indeed noteworthy, and we encourage passengers to explore the nearby harbor as well.
At the Glacier Lagoon, the driver and the guide informed them that they had time to have lunch, we allocated 1 hour at the Glacier Lagoon, and after we gave them 30 minutes more at Diamond Beach. Our description states that we spend 1 hour and 30 minutes at both places, so we did this as planned.
About the Icelandic picnic + drinks ("included in the price), we offered water and chocolate, but about the sandwich we sent to all the customers an email some days before the tour started about the fact that due to a recent incident involving a guest with severe allergies, we regret to inform you that we will no longer be providing sandwiches as part of our tour.
Regarding Stokksnes Vestrahorn, the decision to visit was affected by fog and clouds obscuring the mountain. Our guide did ask if passengers wanted to go, but the consensus was to skip it due to the weather conditions.

It is a long way to Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach but is worth visiting. Adriana was a good guide and Elias a very good driver. We took a lot of photos along the way, the views are stunning.

Adriana and the whole team were exceptional, very welcoming, organized and punctual. We have the experience of seeing the Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach and several stops for sightseeing. It was more than expected, highly recommended.

Like other reviews have said, the operator does not care, or offer a quality product. For the money spent we would have been better renting a car and touring on our own for a third of the cost.
Even though the tour had enough participants for a tour bus, we were shuttled in tour vans. In ours the seatbelts didn’t work and there was no audio in the back so you could not hear the narration along the way.
After listening to the drivers argue the route and timing (at every stop) we headed off in a convoy of three vans (others were tour standard Mercedes, ours was a poorly maintained Ford version).
Driver played popular music (only heard in the front) while we took the 90 minute drive thru scenic country. At that point we stopped at a small town grocery and were ordered to use the restroom. Of course there was a line as 90 people all just showed up looking for the restroom, a line that even though I spent 15 of the twenty minutes given exploring the town had not gone down by the time I got back.
At this point we drove to the iceberg park, another hour drive and we were given thirty minutes for pictures before seeing the beach and heading back with only a gas stop in the two and a half hour drive.
During this trip we initially got a bottle of water, but no refills (good thing since we had to hold our pee), no lunch given or even stopped for.
There was no wifi on the bus as mentioned.
Also no stops / visits to Stokksnes, Vatnajokull National Park (may have drove thru, but no stopping so only photos thru dirty windows and across the van), or Honfu a small fishing village, as mentioned in the description.
Main point of contact, was not available, van drivers spoke broken English and were minimally directing the tour, no info on sites or what we were passing thru (I think this was on the audio they were playing but no one could hear except the front seats.
I would not recommend this tour, took twice as long to get there as time spent, though the icebergs were marvelous, there was minimal context and poor interaction from the tour employees, we were treated as this was just a factory operation, shuttle them in / shuttle them back, pack them in as tight as possible to save as much as you can and be sure to stop at the businesses giving kickbacks for bringing them tourist for potty breaks.

We are very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and would like to address the concerns you raised.
We know that this tour takes a long drive but is the shortest way from any other harbor.
We sincerely apologize for the condition of the tour vans and the issues with seatbelts and audio. Safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we regret that this was not reflected during your trip. The driver didn't know before that the Wi-Fi and the audio on the back weren't working. But this problem is solved. The windows of the Ford weren't dirty at the beginning, but on the way, it was a little rainy and because of this the windows got dirty.
We understand the importance of providing informative and enjoyable commentary throughout the tour. The driver and guide that were in your Ford vehicle, are not native English speaking and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
We used to have our first stop in Stokksnes, but on that day the mountain was covered in fog and cloudy and it was a waste the time to go there, for this reason, the guide decided not to stop.
The driver played Icelandic popular music. Also, he informed all the customers that at Glacier Lagoon they could have something for the lunch and they had 45 minutes to visit and have the lunch.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the restroom situation, that day it was very busy everywhere to go to the restrooms, the driver, the guide, and all the other customers had the same problem. We could not stop in another place for restrooms, because in Iceland we have very few places to stop to use the restrooms (this happens in almost all of Iceland).
Your feedback is invaluable, and we will be taking immediate steps to address these issues to ensure future guests have a much better experience. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. We hope you were still able to enjoy the marvelous icebergs despite the challenges faced.

It’s a long drive to the glacier lagoon about 2 1/2 hours for a 40min stop to look at the glacier lagoon which was beautiful if you have never seen an iceberg before, but the wind is fierce and the rain like sleet if the weather is bad. And our guide decided because the weather wasn’t great that we would t be able to see the diamond beach and Vesthorn mountain so we wouldn’t bother going to see it. No consultation or voting by the passengers, nothing. We will just skip it and go home. So unless you only want to see the icebergs think carefully as it is a long day. And don’t bother looking too hard for the black umbrella the guide is supposed to be holding because it might not be there either.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent visit to the Glacier Lagoon. We appreciate your comments and understand your concerns about the experience.
The safety and well-being of our customers are our top priorities. The weather in the area can be unpredictable and severe, which sometimes necessitates changes to our planned itinerary. On the day of your visit, the weather conditions were particularly challenging, with winds and sleet-like rain. We were informed that at Diamond Beach there are no Diamonds.
Given the adverse weather and the absence of the diamonds, our guide decided to not visit Diamond Beach and Vesthorn Mountain. This decision was made to ensure everyone's safety, as the conditions at those locations can become hazardous very quickly. While we understand this was disappointing, especially after a long drive, we believe it was the responsible choice under the circumstances.
We stopped to take photos of the Arctic Lupine flowers on the way back, and that wasn't planned on the tour.
We appreciate your feedback about the lack of consultation with passengers regarding these changes. We will review our procedures to improve communication and ensure our guests are better informed about such decisions in the future.
Additionally, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the absence of the black umbrella that the guide was supposed to hold. We send to all our customers, one day before that our guide will wear a pink raincoat with flowers because the wind could blow the umbrella.
