Great tour, average lunch

Great tour. Oliver hill is fun and very interesting history. Definitely a must do!
The only let down was the lunch 😂

A definite must see experience in Western Australia

Rottnest Island was the highlight of our holiday. From the ferry to a fantastic lunch at Frankie’s Cafe, seeing the Quokkas all around the town and the bus tour of the island. A definite must see tour

Not worth it.

Don't bother book the tour if you can ride a bike or walk. Among so many attractions, only stop at one attraction(West End). All the rest just talk through. The lunch or refreshment is a box of green leaves with two thumb sized falafel balls (we ordered gluten free but we are not vegetarian). Anyway the tunnel tour and historic Tran ride is fun. The guides are all nice. Overall didn't have a chance to see the island in details bit like rush through everything.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Grand Island Tour. I apologise for the delay in getting back to you as we reviewed and discussed your review with our Rottnest Island team. The Grand Island Tour has three stops - Oliver Hill where passengers will walk through the WWII tunnel, Wadjemup Lighthouse and the West End of the Island. Currently Wadjemup Lighthouse is closed and we have been advised by the Rottnest Island Authority that we are not to enter that location, we will be working on replacing that stop so passengers can see another part of the Island in more depth. I do apologise for the lunch option and we have contacted our on Island supplier to work on making these alternative meal options more satisfying. It is great to hear you enjoyed your time on the train and the guides on the tour. Thank you again for taking the time to review our tour and providing us with an opportunity to improve.

Great way to see all of Rottnest in a day

Great way to see all of Rottnest Island in a day.
Ian was a very informative guide and did a good job.
Perhaps it would've been nice to have a couple more stops at some of the scenic bays on the Island, however I know that it would add more time to the tour and most people probably don't want to spend all day on a bus.
Would recommend to those that don't want to hire a bike and see the whole Island, it's an amazing Island.

Exciting until it starts. Downhill from there.

The old military battery was pretty cool. History is always cool. After that is was pretty boring. The driver talked non stop and talked louder with the little kids crying.

The stops were short and no time to enjoy the scenery.

Great tour, easy way to see most of the island

Booked this trip via Viator (you buy your ferry tickets separately). The train station is easy to find if you follow the blue trains painted on the roads. The train wasn’t full so it was easy to get a window view. You spend an hour up at the barracks, which I felt was a little long. The tunnels are interesting, but quite claustrophobic and it’s a steep walk back up to the top. The tour guides here are volunteers and knowledgable about their subject matter.

The train back down goes the same way and you have lunch at this point, a chicken wrap, cake and water. The bus tour was good (with air conditioning!) and the tour guide was helpful and even stopped for us to see the quokkas close up. There was plenty of time to stop at some good look outs and points of interest and still make the ferry back on time.

Worth spending a full day on the island (quokkas come out when it’s cooler). I got an early ferry over so I could have breakfast at one of the lovely restaurants before the tour started at 11am (finished at 4pm)

Great way to see the island and learn about the history

This is a great way to see the island if you are on a limited time frame. The bus was clean and the windows allowed clear views of the spectacular scenery. There are a number of opportunities to get off and see the sights. Our driver Wylie was fantastic and his knowledge and commentary made for an excellent experience. The train trip and tour of the battery was also a great experience. Inside the battery tunnels there are steps and the corridors are narrow but you it is definitely worth doing. You also get to see the quokkas!

Great Tour

What a great tour! After travelling over on the ferry we met Mike our guide who took us on a train ride to Oliver Hill Battery where we did a 1 hour tour with a fantastic volunteer guide. We went through underground tunnels & saw the large artillery gun that was put there in World war 11 to protect Fremantle & Perth. Great tour.
Back on train where a lovely lunch was provided. Then it was into a coach for a 1 1/2 hour tour around the island with Mike giving us great commentary on the way. Absolutely amazing views, plenty of times we could get off to get photos. Everyone managed to get up close with the gorgeous Quokkas & more photo opportunities! We had about an hour spare before catching the ferry back to Perth.
Fantastic tour with a fantastic guide I would thoroughly recommend.

Good view of the island

The trip around the island was long enough to allow us to see the island and have time to take photos. Our driver, Ted, was informative and fun and the bus was clean & tidy.
The travel agent was very helpful when I had issues getting on the ferry in the morning & ensured that I could still reach the bus tour on time.

A must see and take a bike around

Awesome place (especially with nice weather). Just cycled around and visited all the lovely spots form all the in the north to the south. You could also stay a night to experience small island living, but we thought one full day was enough. Look for the little Quokkas, they are so cute..
